Cute diner in islamorada, lots of options and original breakfast items. Definitely try the biscuits and gravy! We are on a key lime pie taste test tour and this one is for sure up there for local pies. Great pastry case as well. Also a good spot to grab souvenirs. This place for sure delivers the old Florida keys vibe.

We made a quick stop for some breakfast and the spot is really good. The moment you walk in we were greeted and quickly brought to our table. Our server was very attentive and very sweet. The food was delicious and came out quickly. I did notice that the dishes other people ordered had big portions so keep that in mind when you order. The ambiance is total island life living! Oh the bathroom has a nice sugar scrub to wash your hands! I'm obsessed!

Overall, a decent dining experience! We were seated promptly, and the staff was friendly although very matter of fact haha! There was lots of seating available and the atmosphere is lively - definitely a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional. So good that we went back for day two. We were staying at Casa Morada and this place is easily within walking distance. My husband and I went for breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday of our trip. Both days the place was full and very busy, but we never waited more than five minutes because we sat at the counter, which was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and inviting and the service was excellent. They gave us time to peruse the menu and answered our questions. The first day I got the pancake combo with key lime pancakes. The pancakes were perfect, fluffy with crispy edges, but I would've liked a little bit more key lime sauce on top (I should have asked.) The whipped cream with the key lime sauce was a perfect combination. They brought out maple syrup, but I didn't use it. The second day my husband and I shared the French toast sampler and an omelette. The omelette was fluffy and well-filled with toppings. The French toast sampler allowed us to try a bunch of different flavors. We had the regular, cinnamon roll, blueberry, and apple cinnamon. We enjoyed all of them. The only "issue" we had was that my husband ordered the corn beef hash on the first day and did not end up eating it because he thought it was made in-house, but it was not and he really wanted it fresh. It's not necessarily a complaint. It's just something to note. Oh and I almost forgot that both days my husband got one of their fresh made cinnamon rolls from the case upfront. The first day it was an appetizer for him and the second day he took it home so we could enjoy it later. The atmosphere of the place is laid-back, keys vibe with lots of fishing and ocean related decor. They have a huge gift shop with a lot of art that you can walk through while you're waiting for your table. I would definitely go again if I'm back in the Florida Keys.

This place is amazing. Super casual and a perfect spot for a good breakfast before hitting the water on the boat. The food is delicious and reminds me of something my grandmother would whip up for the family before river days. Service is great and super friendly. We love this place. Also a great spot for lobster trap art if you're into that.

Delicious breakfast and brunch options in Islamorada, FL. Lots of impressive fishing photos throughout the sitting areas showcasing Mike's success as a skilled fisherman. Service was very pleasant despite the large crowd waiting to be seated. Use this time to walk around their gift shop and pick up some fun souvenirs. Food took a little while to come out, so enjoy your coffee or a mimosa.

Clean, fun environment with friendly service. Greeted warmly after entering and again by our server. Food was great. Had a homemade feel to it. You did not leave hungry. I got the breakfast tacos that came with 3 fairly big sized tacos filled with eggs, cheese and sausage. I was stuffed after two. My wife got the one egg with French toast which she enjoyed. I was looking for a place with breakfast that was open early and had good food ! And this was the spot ... service was super efficient and fast . We got greeted and seated in a short period of time . And the food was as so good , I got the salmon with eggs Benedict's and it was delicious, fresh salmon full of flavor! If you want a classic, delicious, slightly greasy, breakfast (maybe after a night out) - definitely head over to Mangrove Mike's! We love coming here for breakfast when we are in town. The food is always really good, the home fries are some of my favorite. You know it's good when all the local fishermen go there! Service is always great, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not huge, which makes it more intimate and not as loud as other breakfast spots can sometimes be. Theme is fishing, which is very appropriate - and they are located right next to the Lobster Trap Art store, which is amazing!

Before heading out for a fishing trip, stopped here for breakfast because it was one of the only places open early. The food is fantastic and there is a great menu with both decadent and healthy options. And they have crispy tater tots as a side - woohoo!!! Great ambiance, fast & friendly service, and delicious food. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

Stumbled in here as a fan of Bloodline. (One scene at least here with Danny and Chelsea at the counter) But great food. Mike circulates at all times and is very friendly and loves to chat if you ask him a question. Had lunch the first time and breakfast on another time in the same week. Nice local place. Best bet is to pop in about 10:30-11am... squeeze between rushes. They stay busy! read more

Friendly, feel at home service, no rush to get you in and out service! We ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and the tator tots chili cheese tower. We couldn't finish the cinnamon roll and had it for dessert later in the day, it was that good! read more

Blown away they wanted me to wear a mask to walk to a table. Place is packed and they think that's going to do what exactly? We're way past that in the Keys and it doesn't make any sense. It's a control thing. Plenty of great restaurant options in the area who aren't requiring such nonsense. read more

At first glance, Mangrove Mike's Café may seem like your typical "run of the mill" diner, but in fact, has some of the best breakfast items I have tasted in a while. For my first visit here, I got the "kitchen sink" omelette, together with their French fries. The omelette was filled with peppers, mushrooms, and meat. It was very hearty. I also topped it with hot sauce, and it was quite a treat for my palette. For a side, I tried their French fries, and it was crispy to my liking. I would definitely treat myself to breakfast here again. Asides from great food, the servers here are also friendly. This place definitely embodies the laid back feeling you get from visiting the Keys. A must visit place for those who want good breakfast. read more

This review is based only on 2 Greek Salads that my wife and I ordered for take out. A hand full of lettuce, 3 cuke slices, canned black olives, a couple slices of un-ripe tomatoes, no red onion as was stated in description and feta cheese- $12.00. It looked like one of those free salads you get with a dinner. Pitiful!!!! I have always heard great things about the place, but this over priced poor excuse for a salad has turned me off to ever giving it another try. read more

Mangrove Mike's is the best breakfast place in Islamorada! Beach themed hand painted walls adorn this little cafe, tv's play fishing shows 24-7, the staff is friendly, the food is great. I highly recommend the tator tots! Delicious and the best hangover food ever. Island paradise all the way! read more

Solid breakfast place that seemed full of locals (which gave it a bit of credibility). I had the lobster benedict. Really good and SO lobster-y. Instead of hollandaise sauce, the dish came with a kind of lobster sauce of some sort (frankly, it seemed like a very thick lobster bisque). The sauce made the dish. The hash browns were kind of meh. I would have done better to pick something else for a side. read more

We stopped in while staying on this Key. Mangrove Mike's will not disappoint for a good home style breakfast. There were 6 of us and we were seated pretty quickly. Everything was great but the Mangrove Mike omelette was the winner. You will not be disappointed no matter what you pick. read more

This is a small town spot. The gallery next door is a joke. Don't waste your time or money. The service was fast. The food was good. A variety of fresh fruit for the pancakes and oatmeal. Limited menu. I am not used to the small town vibe. There aren't a lot of options in the area that's why there could be a bit of a wait. A bit dirty for my taste. With the looks of the area, I assume mainly townies eat there. read more

A wonderful local spot. Fresh, delicious diner. Servers know their regulars by name. Owners visit every table. Local state park rangers were eating there. French Toast made with slices of cake! Great breakfast place that seems to be always packed. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 12 and it was full. There is a great selection of food both for breakfast and lunch, the service was great. I got the sink burrito which was yummy, could have used a bit of cheese, although I did not notice it did not come with when I ordered. My wife ordered a breakfast for $6.99 had french toast, pancakes, sausage and bacon, really good deal! We will be back when in the keys!! Good honest food and great little diner!!! read more

Sorry to those that enjoy this place, but it was hot (79 degrees showing on the thermostat at our table) the staff was snarly, place was a bit dirty, food was just 'meh'....the bright spot was the hostess when we paid who actually had a smile and a few words of conversation. I would skip it. Mike seemed happy though! read more

Stopped by for breakfast. Consistently great food and good service. Omelettes have fresh ingredients. Love that I can get fresh fruit instead of potatoes. And fresh fruit is really fresh fruit. My husband ordered flat iron steak and eggs, which was a first here. The steak was cooked as ordered - the chef obviously knows how to cook a steak. I'm not big on steak for breakfast, but it was delicious. Just wanted to update Mangrove Mike's is still our favorite breakfast place in Islamorada. read more

This is the one place I cannot miss when in the Keys. The tater tots with sausage gravy, simply unmatched. Enough for two, but why share when I can take some home? Staff is always friendly. And they were so helpful following the hurricane, good people. read more

The bacon was thick-cut, salty goodness, the sausage was packed with flavor, and the biscuits were light and fluffy. The sausage gravy was some of the best I've had, rich, hearty, and loaded with flavorful sausage. Even the butterscotch bread pudding ($14) is as good as Gordan Ramsay's version. Don't hesitate to go here....and I am sure it will get crowded in season, so reservations will probably be needed. Of course the locals will sit at the bar, but that is out secret.

Fantastic!! Food was great service was great & cashier was sweet! Prices were amazing and let me just tell you their banana bread french toast and sausages are out of this world. I thought coming on labor day would be a huge mistake but the young lady who served us smiled the whole time, our drinks were never empty and she was super helpful. I felt like part of the keys family not some dreaded "Miami" lady. I will be back again! You should send your staff to these fancy expensive restarants in miami for a lesson or two! read more

Was treated horribly and thrown out for not wearing a mask. I am vaccinated and wasn't allowed to show my card. This was embarrassing. others saw this and also walked out behind me. Disgraceful. I am very aware of the situation with Mike, and its heartbreaking but he wouldn't want his staff agressively embarassing another local business owner like they did to me. Do not order the fried chicken plate! At first it was tasty then my second bite of chicken breast was ice cold. ICE cold. I was told it's pre prepared, then frozen until ordered! Then told it's only battered ahead of time. Me and my wife ate breakfast here everyday for a week when we were visiting the keys. I recommend checking out their breakfast tater tot tower combinations - it's delicious ! Staff were extremely polite and the service was quick . Neither cheap or expensive but the quality is excellent. read more
