Okay, here I go, only logging into Yelp basically to make reviews of medical practices. Is this my new thing? Ha! Well, I see there haven't been many reviews for this place, and definitely none in 2021, so let me give an update. My experience was very inline with virtually all of the reviews here. (Save for CoCo's, perhaps, heh.) I had not been able to find a dentist for years in NYC because I didn't have dental insurance and couldn't afford to pay out of pocket. When I finally was able to get good insurance through work...the pandemic happened! Well, now that I'm vaxxed, I knew I couldn't put a cleaning off any longer. It's located in the basement level of an apartment building near the entrance to the Queens Tunnel on the east side, with a pretty unassuming entrance. I was a little curious as I descended the dark stairs, but soon entered upon a bright and comfortable waiting area and set of procedure rooms. My dental hygienist Rachel is AWESOME. I used to have a huge fear of the dentist when I was younger; through I've grown out of it, I'm still a little *myeh* about dental cleanings. Her bedside manner, her full explanation of what she was going to do, and even an explanation of my out - of - pocket costs for the certain services she needed to perform on me left me feeling incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, since it had been about 6 or 7 years since I had a cleaning - I know, I know, BAD! Ha! - Rachel had her work cut out for her as I needed a debridement and some antibiotic injections in addition to my regular cleaning, but her friendliness and knowledge put me at extreme ease. I've heard great things about Dr. Park, and I'll chime in as another supporter. My x-rays revealed that my wisdom teeth have to go - I knew this - but she also explained the benefits of Invisalign to correct a tooth crowding and bite issue I knew I had but didn't know how to address. Again, very through in her explanations, and I love how she straight up told me, "Switch to the PPO insurance to save yourself some money when it comes time to remove those wisdom teeth." Thank you for that candor! As I get back into a regular dental cleaning routine (now that I can afford it and have dental insurance!), I look forward to keeping Manhattan Dental Practices as my spot. I have been through a lot of dental work over the years with different dentists (braces, teeth extraction, gum grafts, fillings) and have been less than satisfied to say the least with the results for the money I have dished out. My co-worker recommended Dr. Park and I'm so glad I went. From beginning to end everyone is so friendly, punctual and efficient. Dr. Park and Crystal did a beautiful job on my one tooth that needed work. You can't even tell there was work done on it. They moved quickly and thoroughly through my procedure. I will definitely be recommending this team to anyone looking for a dentist who actually does what they say they can do and then some! read more

This is a rant, probably applicable to all dentists. But I sat in the dentist chair today and I must have knelt on it instead of sitting on my ass. Because I proceeded to get screwed for $380 for nothing. they took "basic X-rays" because getting them from old dentist who took them 1 month ago is "not good enough". There was no cleaning or any work done at all. after hearing the cost of the work to be done, I said forget it. Plus I got a sales pitch on veneers which would help my bite and save from grinding at $5900. After hearing all this, I left $380 poorer. bottom line: these medical criminals think because you have insurance, they don't have to tell you what things cost. someone should take a flamethrower to this place. read more

I am a patient from when this office was called the smile specialist. Since the change of name and staff the office went from being amazing to horrible. The receptionist are rude, unprofessional and not compassionate. If you are looking to spend thousands of dollars fixing your teeth go elsewhere! I lost my retainers on a Wednesday, the office is closed thursday and friday despite what the have on the website the office is indeed closed on Thursday's and Friday's. I called on Monday the receptionist had no answers for me. I came in to schedule an appointment they gave me Thursday at 12:30pm. It's Thursday my teeth have shifted and it's not 1:05pm and I still haven't seen a doctor. The staff are just eating and walking past me without a care in the world. This has been my worst dental experience of my entire life! This doctor has some hiring and firing to do. read more

I saw Dr. Park for a routine teeth cleaning. Finding a dentist in the city that accepted my insurance and also had good reviews was a challenge, but I am so grateful I found Dr. Park. Her front desk was very friendly and efficient. The hygienist was also very friendly and ensured that I was comfortable during x rays. Dr. Park was great! Kind, friendly, explained what she was going to do before she did it. She was gentle and made sure that I was comfortable during the cleaning. The office is new and looks great! I felt that she did a thorough exam as well, especially since I was new. I would highly recommend this practice! read more

This office is great!! The staff is very Hip and understanding. I'm usually very scared of the dentist but Dr Park and her staff I believe her name is Krystle made my experience great. I never ever write reviews but I feel it is my duty to open a Yelp account just to review Dr. Yookyung Park. She. Is. The. Best. I cracked a tooth in half and walked in during lunch and while she was about to have her lunch she stopped everything to see me, clearly seeing how distressed I was. After years of neglecting my oral health, she quickly took a look and calmed me down assuring me it was not the end of the world. Her assistant Crystal (who is also amazing) took x-rays on the spot and Dr. Park quickly went to work on doing what she could. Having been to numerous dentists in the past (not as frequently as I should),and never feeling quite comfortable with them, Dr. Park and her staff immediately made me feel at ease and constantly reassured me she would do her best to take care of my needs with warmth, humor and comfort. The best part of the experience is even though she gave an honest assessment of my oral hygiene, she never lectured me or openly judged me on my lack of maintenance. If you're hesitating to see a dentist because you're not sure of your options, or you are looking for a new one, rest assured, Dr Park is fantastic. If I could give 10 stars, I would. And as a bonus, she's cute as a button. read more

I was referred to this dental office by a close friend and boy am I happy with the results and service I've received thus far ! All of the staff at Manhattan dental practice are compassionate and welcoming making your time there extremely pleasant. Dr. Marina does a wonderful job of assessing your teeth and ensuring that the process is as painless as possible. That was my main concern about braces , the pain that they may bring. Candice at the front desk does a great job of scheduling your appointments and answering any questions that you may have about your treatment. Overall I was on the fence out coming in to get my teeth straightened but the staff there does a excellent job of transforming your smile and satisfying your needs. read more

My boyfriend and I both go to Dr. Park and she and her staff are the best! Dr. Park was recommended to me by one of my friends. Before I found Dr. Park, I was not a regular at the dentist. I have receding gums so even a regular cleaning can be uncomfortable, but Dr. Park is very gentle and thorough with her cleanings and has a great bedside manner. She is very personable and I immediately felt comfortable having her clean my teeth. My boyfriend and I also really appreciate that she takes the time to explain what insurance will and won't cover before you have anything done. I had never had a dentist/doctor take the time to decode my insurance. Apparently, I have better dental insurance than I thought so Dr. Park walked me through all of the different things that were covered under my current policy. As a result, I am now a couple months into invisalign. I never thought my teeth would look so good. One last story to tell you how great Dr. Park and her team are - A few months ago, Dr. Park's office called me because they needed to reschedule an invisalign appt that I had for later that afternoon to the following week. Dr. Park felt so bad about rescheduling my appt, that she stopped by my office during her lunch break that day to take a quick look at my teeth and deliver my trays so that I wouldn't get behind.
