For the price point however I was very disappointed in my how my nails looked in less than a week. I have to say the service is great and the staff is spectacular, also the space is every clean , which counts for a lot. There is a lot of useless accoutrements - meaning treatments that don't really do anything (i.e. Paraffin wax dip- cool, but useless) , but raise the price. Yes, you get free drinks and coffee, but it's not worth the overall upcharge. I paid $93 with tip for a plain pedicure and gel nails, with no extras. NINETY THREE -that's A LOT even by my standards. I can pay nearly half that for equivalent service in any number of places. It's just too much, even for Wellesley. It's not luxury. It's just slightly better than average. I read that they charge for gel removal? Which is crazy , Bc in every other salon that is just standard operating procedure , as you cannot do gel nails without removing the initial set. I loved going here- it was my first time and the pedicure was excellent. When it got to my nails, I decided to do gel, but they weren't left to heat long enough, so one of my nails has streaks. Also, the wax burnt my eyebrows, damn that was hot! I really liked the lady who did my manicure, and they have a card to eventually get a free manicure when you pay cash, which is an added bonus. Worst manicure I have ever had. Terrible customer service. Save your money. Their gels last less than a week, they do a bare minimum on the cuticles, which is probably why the gels don't last. Usually when I come here they do a fine job but the past few times I've been it has not been satisfactory. My latest visit was for a gel manicure which the woman completely rushed. It took 20 minutes which is unheard of for a gel manicure... some of the ladies are diligent and do a great job while others frankly don't care and rush through. It's upsetting that there are completely different work ethics among the employees but I still have to pay 35$ whether I get a great manicure or a poor one. This was the first salon I tried when I came to Wellesley and was disappointed by lackluster service, then after stopping in at the bookstore I decided to try again. I gritted my teeth and lived with a totally disinterested receptionist for the booking. I had a fantastic pedi, good eyebrow wax, but the manicure - done by a different person to the one who did the pedi, was disastrous, it started peeling three days later. Plus I asked for an oil treatment - $10 extra for mani and $10 for pedi, and all it was, was lathering oil on my hands and feet, no extra massage, so that was a ridiculous cost. I nonetheless booked for a mani and pedi with the person who did my pedi, then came in by mistake a few days early, another receptionist - equally disinterested, pointed out my error, but instead of saying, 'we can still take you' - the salon was empty, she did nothing. I said I'd call and book another appointment. But haven't, I was about to try again but reading these reviews has persuaded me that they have no interest in giving better service. A great shame for the women like the one who did my pedi. I won't go back. read more

I was really excited to try manipedi after hearing great things about them. I made an appointment online for a full mani. I was about 15 minutes early and was taken right away. Manipedi does also have a great selection of polishes and it's very clean.... BUT, for $18 + $5 for the type of polish I chose + tip, I'm really disappointed. The entire process felt rushed and when I left, I realized a couple of my fingernails weren't even filed to a symmetrical shape, and there are significant areas on the sides of several of my nails that got no nail polish at all. Plus, the nail drying stations are right by the door, so it gets pretty chilly. Overall, my experience was not at all in line with my expectations for a relaxing spa treatment at this price level. read more

Horrible experience today at Mani Pedi. I have been several times and have to say never been all that impressed. I find them rude and abrasive but today took the cake! Went in for mani and pedi. Maggie was the tech. Over the course of my pedi she was very rushed and rough and several times I ask that she go easy. She didn't listen. Next it was time for the mani. They didn't have enough seats and had to sit in pedi chair which was nice and comfy. Finally moved to tall tables and once again it hurt and told her so, no change. Went to the paraffin "pond" and she got the wax all over my bracelets. Maybe my bad for not taking them off but pushed them back far enough it shouldn't have been an issue. Just sloppy. The mani in the end looked like a 5 year old did it. When I was done with my service I contemplated not tipping at all since a tip is for good or exceptional service and it certainly was neither but left a meager tip. As I was leaving the salon the kid behind the counter stopped me and said "did you tip Maggie?" I said "yes why" , he said "no you didn't. You need to tip her", I was horrified as this was in front of the entire salon. Since when is it ok to demand a tip. First of all I did give her one and it was a lousy one I admit but don't you dare confront me about it. Ryan K. Yelp says you are the salon owner and I suggest you reevaluate your customer service model as it is flawed and won't get you very far. Went last minute on a late Saturday morning. It was busy. But i was able to be seen right away. Decor is beautiful and pleasing,which is important to me. I wanted a pedi and chose the Lemon spa treatment for 60$. Being this is Wellesley Square, i expect these kind of prices. The experience did not disappoint and my pedicurist was a lovely person and did a very thorough and clean job. First time in a while that someone did not make my toes bleed whilst cutting my cuticles, and for that alone, i will be a returning customer. Well worth the money to splurge on one's self. read more

I went here last week with my friend to get our nails done for our friends wedding. they wouldnt let us sit together because she had arrived before me. I felt very rushed to pick a color and as she was standing over me the whole time. I got an express mani for $15.00 which is a bit expensive for basically a polish change. Throughout the appointment other manicurists were coming up around us and talking to each other, and it made me very uncomfortable. My friends manicurist wouldnt let her get the same color as me because my nails werent finished and it seemed as though she was in a rush. They put us in a position where we felt that we were bothering them. we wanted a relaxing time before the wedding and it was not what we received. I will not be going back. read more

I went to Manipedi yesterday to get a full manicure and quick pedicure. The woman who took me was okay, but I feel like she was a little frustrated with me. I have never had a pedicure and thought I would try it out, so I wasn't really sure what to do. Also as some other responses said, she seemed to rush me, and also I wish she would've explained the process a little more. For example, after my nails were done she sat me by the drying area, but did not tell me whether to wait a few minutes and then just leave or if I should wait for her to tell me.. it was very confusing. In terms of the actual nail polish, I just had regular essie on my toes and nails, so far they look pretty good. I will most likely go back, but definitely not my favorite nail salon experience. read more

I've been going to this salon since I moved to Wellesley and I can't recommend it enough. Prior to COVID-19 I went regularly for manicures, gel manicures and pedicures. The pedicures are relaxing and luxurious. Definitely get the hot stone massage with your pedicure because it is heavenly. Manicures are quick, well done and last and last. The paraffin is a great touch. Gel manicures take a little longer but it's worth it. It sounds like a random feature but their selection of nail polish is outstanding and is displayed in a way that really helps you to make up your mind. I started going again this month. They've done a really good job with cleanliness and I feel safe going in there. I always make an appointment but I don't have a specific technician because they're all fantastic. If you're in the Wellesley area and are looking for a clean, safe salon who will do an amazing job stop in here. read more

I've been a nail client here for a long time, however, never again. It is NOT relaxing. It's a factory-like atmosphere where customers are simply a dollar sign. I leave feeling rushed and most of the nail techs are disinterested and look into space. The staff all but ignores you once you are seated and have your nail polish picked out. They constantly chat with each other the whole time. I had an appointment last week for a pedicure and manicure. I happened to get Olivia, who was completely distracted by whatever was going on in the salon..calling out and looking all around. I've been coming for years but it seems to be more problematic over time.The most difficult issue is that the regular manicures and often the gel manicures just don't stay on as long as they do when I've been out of town and had my nails done in other places. Regular polish often can't get me through the weekend. There are extra charges for everything and at one point, most of those charges were included in the rate, so be prepared for it to be more expensive than you think. I hope that when the rates went up, it was because the people working there received higher salaries--they work really hard and they do their job in a friendly and professional manner. The massage is more rushed and that had been one of the joys when I first started coming. On the positive side, the person who does my manicures and pedicures is excellent, the massages are very relaxing, and the hot wax is wonderful. read more

This place is awesome with nails, but oh my goodness do NOT get waxed here!! YOU WILL BE BURNED (see #4). I've now gotten 2 upper lip waxes here and both experiences have left me upset:( During the first one the employee was messy with her work and missed a fair amount of hair but I thought maybe it was just someone new to waxing. However after this second wax I will never get waxed here again. The employee didn't seem to know what she was doing, and multiple weird things happened: 1. She cleaned y upper lip prior with rubbing alcohol?! This is bad for the skin and I know multiple salons that use antiseptic alternatives. 2. The wax felt very, VERY hot, but I didn't think much of it since I assumed they only allow employees trained in waxing to do it so she must know what she's doing. 3. She SPILLED wax on my lip (which is now burned there) and it took multiple attempts to pull off one strip. 4. This is the one that has really messed with me- she burned me. And I don't mean a little redness- there are multiple burns all over my upper lip and I'm actually going to the doctor now AND calling out of work. Overall: this place does an awesome job with nails, but DO NOT GET WAXED HERE!!! Worst mistake ever:( read more

Would not recommend this place. They are very lazy here and rush through appointments giving you a VERY sub experience. My pedicure was finished in about 20 minutes and I had soap and wax left on my legs after I left. They were too lazy to give me a proper pedicure and do not put an emphasis on customer satisfaction. On another note, this business is not eco-friendly in the slightest. They are too lazy to clean the tubs your feet are in, so instead they put a plastic bag in the tub so that they can service as many customers as quickly as they can. They go though multiple plastic bags for just one client. This is not a cheap nail salon and I would rather spend my money anywhere else. read more

I loved my manicure, and I still do, but I couldn't stand the salon's atmosphere. The employees who weren't doing nails were sitting around in the front of the salon on their phones, playing with their dog (who was barking at anyone and everything, and disturbing the peace). At one point, the manager (who was doing my nails) had to stop doing my nails to answer the phone, even though there were four other employees sitting around who could've easily answered the phone. I felt like they were all very disrespectful of Lynn (the manager), and treated her poorly. I also felt that my manicure was rushed because Lynn had to also run the salon as she did my nails! I'm pretty annoyed that I had to see a bunch of employees sitting around giggling while clearly taking a break, it's very unprofessional. This used to be my go-to salon up until a couple of weeks ago, I came in for a Gel Manicure and asked for a coat of glitter on the top of my nails, I was told that this would be extra I should have asked how much extra but I said it was fine. After the manicure I was charged $15 FOR THE GLITTER. Which honestly is in my opinion way too much but I wouldn't have been as upset with it except that 6 days later my nails were already peeling and by day 9 every single nail had chipped and peeled. I don't know if it was the glitter or what but I was hugely disappointed. I will still come back and try again because every other visit has been clean and a job well done but some technicians seem to do a better job than others in making the manicure last longer. read more

Pedicures was sub-par especially for all the other options in the area. Hardly any good massage or scrub. My feet were just as rough with dry skin as when I walked in. Shocked to find out ONLY at the end when I paid looking at the receipt that they charge $7 to remove the shellac. If I had know that I would have done it myself. It has been so many weeks that I could have peeled the polish off while I was getting the pedicure. All the did was wrap my nails in tin foil while they did the pedicure. The was not pre-filing or anything before wrapping my nails. After words when she took the foil off, with one scrap with her tool all the polish came off. When you get a regular manicure they run the polish remover off each nail, I think that would take longer. Not quite sure the rational for the pricey charge. Perhaps it is the zip code where the place is located and most people there don't look at their receipts? Nail salon labor laws-that is the rational? What about the employee who only does pedicures all day and therefore does check her clients out like the other employees?I wonder if she actually gets her fair share of the tip left when she shares a client..... Nothing in the is free. But you can either be up front about the additional cost of gel removal on top of the already higher price. Or increase the price to Gel Manicure & Removal as a set price. Honesty is what keep customers returning and recommending. Responding to a review on yet sighting things like: "perhaps you need to refresh your memory or stating the cost of gel removal is related to Nail Salon Labor Laws" only shows more clearly your business practice. So now I am even MORE CERTAINLY DEFINITELY NOT returning....So Thank you!!......going to keep exploring other options in the area! read more
