I received a gift certificate for this place and decided to try it out. My daughter and I booked appointments for manicures and pedicures online the day before. We were both emailed confirmations. When we got to the salon, they only had my daughter. They still took me, but I felt like the service was rushed because they had other customers. We had to wait, but not too long. The girl that did my mani pedi was pleasant, but it is the worst job I've ever had. It was rushed, sloppy, and they weren't even going to do the paraffin treatment until my daughter said something. Also, the girl did not even scrub my feet to smooth them. That's a basic part of the pedicure. She also did not get all of the old polish off of my toenails, but did manage to leave it all over my skin. When I spoke to the manager, she said she would take the old polish off of my skin, but I left saying that I would need a whole new pedicure to make me happy. I will never go there again. THIS REVIEW IS FOR LUX NAILS AND SPA IN LEGACY PLACE, DEDHAM, MA. When we first started going here, the service was great, but now they don't seem to care about inconveniencing the customer at all! We went to Tony for our gel nails, he does EXCELLENT work. My sister and I have been going there for over a year. Recently, on 3 separate occasions, we made appointments at least 2 weeks in advance each time. The first time, we received a call (the day of our appointment) to let us know that Tony was not going to be in. The last two times, we showed up and only then were we told "he was on vacation for the weekend". NO CALL, NO APOLOGY, they did not even TRY to accommodate us. By the 3rd time I was done! I walked out and will not return. I refuse to give my money to a business that has no respect or courtesy for the customer. No matter how good Tony is, there is always someone out there just as good or better and Lux Nails & Spa Owners should keep that in mind. No matter how good business is, always treat your customers right! read more

Not getting my business anymore. Went for a gel manicure, which was completely overpriced to begin with. Three nails chipped/peeled after a week and when I called to ask them to fix them, they said they only have a one-week guarantee. The polish is supposed to last at least 2 weeks. There are many other better local places to give your business and your money! read more

When we walked in , I was impressed with the salon. Clean, neat and professional. It went down hill from there. There were 5 of us, 2 adults 3 children and we had booked the appt ahead of time. My entire pedi lasted 15 mins. Start to finish. The girl who did mine was really rough, although the other said theirs was fine. My daughter wanted a flower painted on her big toenail, which has been customary at every other salon we have been to, and we were told it would be an extra charge. For $35.00 I did not think it was asking too much. So many other better places in the area. We would definitely not return. read more

I am not one to write Yelp reviews but I was EXTREMELY disappointed with my visit today. I have been a customer at Mani Pedi for over four years now. Every visit has been great except for the one today, which I am very upset about. Today I called ahead and booked an appointment for a Jasmine Spa Pedicure. I was running about 5 minutes late so I called and let the salon know that I would be 5 minutes late, which they said was no problem. When I arrived, I was ushered to a pedicure chair and was then told that they did not have time for a Jasmine pedicure and that they could only do a regular one. I was disappointed because I wish that the salon had told me this over the phone when I called, otherwise I would have not driven there and would have made an appointment for another time. When I asked why they did not have time, they said that they had a "very important customer coming in in an hour." I then asked to speak to the person who I had talked to on the phone, she came over and was extremely disrespectful. Two separate customers came up to me after and said that they thought she was very out of line and that they felt uncomfortable by the way she was speaking to me. I am not mad about the fact that the salon did not have time for the spa pedicure - I understand that - but am more upset by the way I was talked to. This experience really surprises me since I have had nothing but good experiences here and love the usual manager (who is currently out of town). I am just extremely disappointed at the way I was treated today, as a pedicure is supposed to be relaxing. read more

I really think they water down their polish. It always bubbled off, not chipping per se. I also noticed I am never have the same technician, even when I called in advance. I found Beauti Lux down the street. They are not as busy yet, but a superior job, nice and good pricing. read more

Points for cleanliness (it was spotless; instruments came out of sterilizer bags) and good smelling soaps and lotions, but for those prices it felt like not enough pampering. It felt a little too assembly line. And even though I got the full pedicure, I spend more time massaging lotion into my often get just to deal with dry feet. My biggest complaint was that the "pattern" we paid for for my 8 year old's nails was just one sticker on each hand. And at first the stickers were peeling off. (This if because even though I'd said pattern from the beginning, they hadn't heard me it had forgotten, so they just stuck them on after the oil). They were going to just push them back down, repeatedly, and send us off, but I insisted they fix it. Even so, when you get a pattern with a manicure, they are supposed to paint it on. But my daughter LOVED IT there; she was thrilled. And our nails look great. But I definitely won't be returning. Nor would I recommend it given the options out there. read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for years now. However I had the worst nail salon experience I've ever had, at Mani Pedi. I went in to get a French pedicure and a gel French manicure for a wedding I had the same weekend. The woman who did my nails did my toes very slowly, she kept stopping to talk to her fellow employees rather than doing her job. When she finished my toes she removed the polish on my right big toe 4 times before she decided she was done! Now I'm all for redoing the polish if it doesn't look good the first time, but it looked perfectly fine to me, the four times she repainted my nail. So this pissed me off a little bit because I had somewhere to be very soon and I did not have the time for all of this. Then we moved on to the manicure. The woman starts filing my nails, continues to stop every few seconds to join in the conversation going on around her, and is very very rough when handling my hands. She then stops, tells me she has to take an emergency phone call, to which I awkwardly reply "oh ok", and then she leaves. Then another woman comes over and continues to file my nails. Then the original woman decides to come back and take over and she starts filing my nails again. At this point there is barely any nail left on my fingers to file and it's getting pretty painful. She then starts painting my nails very quick and rough, but continues to stop so that she can join in the conversation going around her. A year ago I broke my pinky finger in two places and when she was handling that finger it was excruciating pain. She then goes to paint my nails and she cannot find the correct brush to paint the white strip on my nails. She opens and looks through 5 different bottles of nail polish before finally deciding on one to use. She then starts painting it on my nails and gets annoyed at me every time the gel light turns off- as if it's MY job to keep the light going. One and a half hours later we finally get to the end of the appointment, I'm about to be in tears at this point, my hands are in the worst pain they've been in EVER from a nail salon, and I honestly believe this woman deserves absolutely NO TIP. However, I am a nice person and so I gave her a $5 tip. She THEN has the nerve to hold up the signed receipt and say "only 5 dollars??". To which I replied "yes. Do you want me to change it?" Which put her in an awkward situation because she felt like she did her job, so therefore she should be paid a fair tip. However, even though this woman technically did her job, she did everything someone could possibly do WRONG during a nail appointment. So I left, cried, and decided that I would post about my experience on yelp. About 5 days later, all five nails on my left hand have turned completely yellow. After researching why this could happen, I found out that the most common cause for this is old nail polish. MANI PEDI IS THE WORST PLACE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER GOING HERE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. read more

I have tried this salon a few times. I really like the workers, they are very nice! I really wanted this salon to work because it's a 2 minute walk from where I live. Positive: 1.They have great colors and a great variety! 2. They almost always are able to take a walk-in, despite always being very busy. They also accept appointments. 3. It's a cute shop! 4. They have a lot of options for spa pedicures and manicures! 5. If you pay in cash they give you a visit punch card. Each $15 spent gets you closer to a free manicure. NEGATIVES: 1. They have cut my nails too short. 2. They have cut my nails crooked. 3. I have had a manicure and pedicure (on two separate occasions) not dry. The first time I thought I may have rushed it. They seemed dry. I then put my hands in my pockets (it was winter and cold) and they came out messed up. The second time (Today) I stayed under the dryers for 20 minutes. I put my shoes on because the polish seemed dried, when i took my shoes off my nail polish was completely messed up! I understand there could be a few nicks, but I have never had this problem at another salon. I really wanted this place to work out. I will not be going back :(. read more

I don't get manicures very often, usually just for a special occasion. This is my new place and I will probably come again soon. Came in here for a birthday treat. I had a full manicure and a full pedicure. Both were amazing!! I felt so relaxed and the skin treatments (parafin wax) they used left my skin feeling soft. If you have a pedi, the chairs are massage chairs and you have a remote to select what you want. Kelly did my nails and she did a great job! She does a little shoulder massage too, while the parafin sets. There's a wide selection of colors to choose from, too. I had a hard time choosing and showed three choices to the manicurist. She tried a little of each on a few different nails to help me select the best color. Love it :) All staff there was so kind and the atmosphere was so nice too! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and had an amazing experience. This place will be my new favorite. See you guys again! read more
