I have never been at this restaurant before and wanted to try something new. Four of us came to try the food and see what all the excitement was about. If you come here, you will not be disappointed. Why the three stars? Service: I understand that restaurants get busy and with that, comes a long wait time. We did not mind waiting 20 minutes to be seated. We enjoyed looking at the decorations and looking at the history behind this establishment. When we sat down, we were greeted within a couple of minutes - our orders were placed shortly after as we already knew what we wanted. Our waiter did not come by to check on our waters at all the entire time we were there and only came to "check on the food" while really asking how the checks were going to be split. The food was delivered by someone else. I left a somewhat-good tip because someone else told me to, but if I had been there alone, I would have tipped very little - I thought it was very disappointing service. The Food: The food was amazing! We had soups, burgers, and appetizers. The burgers were different and tasteful, the homemade ketchup was enjoyable, and the soup not only smelled delicious, but it tasted great. Definitely going back. Love that the drink menu has beers from all over the state; I was starting to miss my favorite Seattle brewery, Georgetown, and found one of their IPA's here. However the food side,,, well nothing special,, and actually we felt it was lacking quite a bit... As my 19 y.o. foodie son said "It's a really good bar trying way to hard".... The chips tasted like burnt potatos cooked in old oil.. The lamb stew was mono flavored... The Tap house burger and Grand burger where served on buns that are to way too dense, not sure if they where stale or if it was just the whole wheat they seem to be made of, either way not a good choice for a burger... The bacon relish was not good, it tasted burnt and over cooked also... Would much rather have gone to the Blackbird, Incredaburger or even right next door is some of the best craft pizza... Today I stopped in for a quick bite and an IPA. I ordered the Moroccan Lamb stew and it was fantastic!!! A little spicy but not too - for most people I think. They stirred a little plain yogurt on top. Excellent. Very rich and hearty; I will definitely be back for more! Their burger is my normal go-to here, absolutely love it, hard to try anything else. One of the best burgers in Spokane, house made patty and bun with gourmet cheeses. I also love the yam chips wile drinking one of their 50+ beers and do not forget to get the cheese dip with them. The only drawback is that it's so popular that the wait is always there. But if you have time wait and stay for a while, which is why I'm assuming there is slow table turndown and rollover. The service was great and our drinks were good (IPA for him, cab sauv for me), but the menu ... well, it's changed a lot. Gone are favorites like the Lamb Philly, French Dip, and Green Chili Mac & Cheese (I was never the type to order mac & cheese at a restaurant, but their Green Chili Mac was deliciousness worth every penny and every single fattening calorie). They've been replaced with a Peking Duck Wrap, Peanut Butter Jalapeno Crunch Burger (seriously?), and Pimiento Mac & Cheese. Being unenthused with the new menu, we each ordered the Tap House Burger. The beef patty and Cambozola cheese were lovely and perfectly cooked (medium), but the bacon marmalade was pretty sweet to the point I had to scrape it off, the fries tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for several hours, and their house-made ketchup was, well, some sort of a funky smoky cocktail sauce that left a weird aftertaste. I was also really disappointed that their house-made pickle chips were sweet. One of the servers told us that they'd had people ask about losing their favorites from the menu, and that they would be rotating some of those old favorites onto the menu every few weeks or so. We'll give it another shot if the menu changes, especially because the service was really good, but in the meantime, we'll choose another restaurant. read more

OK, this one is a sleeper of a location. You drive by in the winter and you just see a space underneath a shopping center that is not terribly inviting. But don't be fooled! Hidden under there is a cozy space with outstanding beer selections and a knowledgeable staff to back it. In summer, the place opens up to an amazing open/outdoor space for that location. The food menu has been completely revamped, and kills any hope of our return. The offerings are few, strange, and under described. For example, I had the meatloaf sandwich. No mention of it being open-faced, three pucks of meatloaf come perched on a sliver of yesterday's baguette. The consistency of a sponge, the meat had ok flavor, if no moisture whatsoever. A smattering of hoisin and a pile of slippery, unseasoned vegetables made the job of eating this, on its tiny plate, more effort than it was worth. You expect changes and additions to a menu over time. Welcome tested new offerings even. This is a big swing, and a miserable miss. We can get beer anywhere. Not so, anymore, good food. read more

TOP favorite restaurant in Spokane! The food is made from scratch, and you can taste the difference! I love the lamb philly and Mac&cheese! I also love the hamburgers! The buns are Soo yummy! I can't forget about the fish tacos, and the curry soup! The best part is that they make sure the meats are hormone free! In fact, the burger I got was fantastic, and mac and cheese my partner got was delicious, the tomato soup was spectacular, and the root beer was delicious. The thing that really put it over the edge, though, was the creme brûlée. Let's just say I was having a bit of a rough day and the creme brûlée made up for it, with its hint of orange zest, perfectly cooked center, and crunchy top! Among 5 people, we shared 2 orders. The fries were more like potato wedges but coupled with the gravy, pork and other goodies, it was amazing and quickly disappeared off the plates. I got the special which was a salmon with huckleberry sauce, quinoa and a choice of side salad or soup. My friends got the soup with their order and it was a bacon jalapeño cheddar that day. It was delicious with a good amount of kick, I would definitely order this instead of the side salad with the pomegranate sauce (which is also good). The blackened Mac and cheese which my friend got is worth mentioning which was very good. In the end the prices here are fair and expect to pay about 30 dollars if you get an appetizer, entree and a glass of beer. The environment is nice and the servers are very attentive. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes and up to an hour on busy days. It's definitely busy for a good reason. read more

The waiter was very helpful, as my wife requested a flight of beers local to Spokane he was able to bring us a good variety of options to sample. The burger I ordered was good and came w/a very delicious soup. My wife ordered a vegetarian meal with a side of a tasty Mac and cheese. The portions satisfied both of us. This place is pretty trendy. Some friends in the area recommended it, and though the meals were a little pricy, the beer selection and wide variety of ingredients for the main dishes was worth the extra money spent. Average price for our party was about $16. The waitress was very helpful, as I requested a flight of beers local to Washington, and she communicated to the staff to get a good variety of options. $6 for 6 samples of beer seemed like a good deal. I ordered the green chili Mac and cheese, which included some chicken in the dish and a side salad. I'm a fan of the balsamic vinegar option vs a heavy dressing, but the salad was basically a lettuce and a few croutons. So the salad was unimpressive, but the flavor was the main course was enough to make up for it. Portion size was satisfying, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't hungry before going to bed. The dress was pretty casual, but you wouldn't be out of place wearing some nicer attire. I liked the decorations, lighting, nearly laid out menus and the friendliness of the staff. It can get loud pretty easy, so this may not be a great choice for an intimate meal. There were some doors and opened up to a patio. I imagine this would be a great place to go when the whether is nice (hopefully I can come back for a day like that). The good was great. It had an upscale bar feel. I tried soyrizo for the first time (soy chorizo) and it was great. I also had buffalo cauliflower bites, I plan to get those again. Our appetizer wasn't cooked and didn't have any of the garnishes it typically came with. One of the side plates they served with it wasn't clean. I had the summer salad for a meal and it tasted of strong nutmeg and nothing else which wasn't what I would expect from something called a summer salad. It was horrible with watermelon and champagne dressing. It just doesn't go together. My husband had the Cuban which was mostly pickle and smashed bun and served with cold fries. Your hard work and quality is always appreciated. Our recent visit though was slightly disappointing. I ordered the hamburger with the egg on it. I chose to have the same ingredients minus the egg. I was hoping they would knock 1$ off for choosing this option but that didn't happen. Also, I have to say if the hamburger patty is going to be way smaller than the bun,go with a slider bun.
