This South Hill Pub menu has regular choices and a chefs ongoing seasonal change that keeps you coming back. From the Chefs Burger, to Bulgogi street tacos, and a French dip on a crusty sourdough with a tasty Au jus', a meat eater will not be bored. The Buffalo Cauliflower, or Spaghetti Squash are excellent veg focused fare that are flavorful options, too! Just don't forget that we came for some of the best points on tap that the Inland PNW has to offer all set in artsy metal and wood scene. We went here for a friend's birthday dinner, sat in a group of 8 for the dine in experience. My soup and sandwich were good but I wasn't blown away by much happening there. Overall, the service was fine, we all had fun but I haven't found myself desiring to really go back. We were pretty impressed with our first visit today. We were met at the door and told to seat ourselves (it was mid-afternoon). We sat next to the windows by the bar. Menu and beer list are QR ready. We had a flight - 6 beers, 3 oz each for $8.00. Every single one was good. You can order a pint or a half pint, too. My husband really liked a Weistephaner Dunkel Weis and ordered a can to take with us. ($11) We ordered a cup of the cheddar jalapeño soup and a chopped salad. The soup was spicy, but good and the heat didn't linger. The chopped salad was very good and tasted so fresh. Chunks of salami, cheese CURDS (who does that??), garbanzo beans, properly cored cucumber slices, olives, ripe cherry tomatoes, and a quartered hard boiled egg with a balsamic dressing on the side. There were two tiny, thin slices of a baguette, too but I don't know if they accompanied the soup or the salad. Since the soup was spicy and the salad was acidic, we asked for a couple more (tiny) pieces of bread. Really disappointing to see they charged us $1 for them. IMO there should be *something* served with the salad - crackers, breadstick, piece of bread. Or, if the little pieces of bread were with the salad, then there should have been crackers, etc. served with the soup. Weird place to cut costs. Still... overall it was a good experience. read more

Went in here Tuesday afternoon for a bite to eat between appointments and was not disappointed! The staff was amazing, especially Chelsea and Jarred (hope that's correct). The patron next to me suggested the Curry wrap but in salad form and boy did I not regret it! The salad was savory, with a bit of heat that is brought down by the dressing. I got the Sweet Potato waffle fries on the side (so good) and between the salad and fries, I was full but not overly so. It was delicious, healthy but so darn good! This place is pretty darn cool. Their patio is amazing! I am a fan of outdoor eateries. First of all natural lighting and just drinking a cold one on a warm and sunny day just always is so much better. I am happy they were able to accommodate my boss and I after bloomsday. The service was pretty good, I think the server we had we were her only table outside, but she was still very attentive towards us. Our beers, appetizer, and entre all came out about 5-7 minutes apart from each other. Omg their buffalo cauliflower is to die for everyone must try them because you are missing out! Their kale Caesar salad is huge and so filling. Believe me you will have left overs. The green chili Mac and cheese is so cheesy, Spicy and tasty! I should have ordered a side salad with it rather than fries cuz the Mac and cheese was so heavy I needed a light side hehe. Lastly their Hppy hour menu is amazing. So many goodies for $5. Went the either day and stood at the host station for about 5 minutes as employees walked by and didn't even nod to me much less say something to the effect that they would be right with me (only 5 tables occupied). So I turned to walk across to Republic Pi and the waitress then turned and muttered "whatever" as I left. Wow!!! Great customer service? I will NEVER go there. Since I knew I wouldn't have time to check out every microbrewery in Spokane on my most recent visit, I wanted to find a place with the largest selection of local beer to sample. I'm confident I found it at Manito Tap House. Our group of nine came in for a Monday lunch and were seated after a ten minute wait in the back room. We were happy with this secluded area because we had a one month old and a grumpy two year old with us whose screams could break an eardrum if in close enough proximity. From here, we had plenty of space for the older one to roam around and the younger one to be excluded from extraneous noise. I'm the last person that thinks breweries/tap houses should be the venue of choice to bring the entire clan, but with a full kid's menu and slings to hold car seats, this place is definitely family-friendly. There's a lot to like about Manito Tap House. For the beer lovers, there are 50 beers on tap with unlimited tasting pours, two certified Cicerones, and for $125, a Tap Club full of benefits. They are a prominent supporter of local charities and the cycling community. And they are a four star certified Green Restaurant using reclaimed barn wood for the walls, recycled paper for the bathroom counters, and florescent and LED lighting to mention a few of their earth saving measures. The extensive beer list is very detailed and even listing the distance from Spokane from which the beer originated. My $6 six beer flight consisted of beers all brewed within a couple hundred miles from Manito Tap House and they were all unique flavors, but Bob's Beer, a brown ale, from Georgetown Brewing was my favorite with a medium roasted flavor and an interesting combination of sweetness and hoppiness. The food was probably the weakest part of our experience, but with no major issues. The fish was cooked and seasoned well with my lunch special, the Southern Fishwich, but the flavors did not overpower any of the beers I was sampling. The lamb was overcooked with my nephew's Lamb Philly which he compared to turkey jerky, but the macaroni and cheese was a winner with everyone that ordered it, even the two year old had his fair share. Pricing was reasonable at $121 for our group and service was excellent throughout the meal with plenty of help with the beer list and timely delivery of our accurate orders. read more

The first time I ever visited Manito Tap House I wasn't all that impressed. I've been back a couple of times at the request of friends and I've found that "thing" that I love on their menu. It's just an appetizer but so good! It's the pork belly Bahn mi lettuce wraps. The pork is delicious and well cooked! I love the dipping sauce. It's the only thing there that I order. There maybe other items I have yet to try, that are good but hope to eventually find more items I like on their menu. I usually order a lemon drop to drink but every time it's not made quite good enough, it's lacking sweetness. I've given up on ordering those from there and stick to beer. Service has been good most of the time. I'll continue going here for those lettuce wraps! read more

First time and definitely won't be the last! We started with the Mozarella sticks (actually patties) with the best sauce ever.....with even a slight kick! And the duck wraps were pretty good too! And then the Tap House and Chef burger (my buddy and and I split) and the girls had a Lamb Philly and curry wrap both reportedly fantastic (as they didn't share)! We ended with the lavender honey cheesecake and carrot cake bread pudding both of which were amazing!! The server "Alex" helped us at every aspect of the meal and made our experience perfect!!! I'd go back tomorrow!!!! P.S......No one had any alcohol but the "wine by the glass" selection looked good (according to my wife) and they have a whole book full of beers! read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Usually I kind of forget to do updates, but The Tap House is in my South Hill Hood. As many know over the past ? year or so the Tap house has been under different ownership. And, I can't say it is for the better. Of course, there is still a great bar, and the bar staff are great. So the beer is all still there, but damn the food has gone down hill. I have been there a few times to meet folks for lunch. The first time I had the taco special, that wasn't half bad. It was a pork shoulder taco. But, the last time I went I had their brisket french dip.... Ugh, they should have called it a jerkey french dip. The brisket was dry and chewy....yuck. Seriously, I am so sad that yummy jalapeno cheese soup is gone, those fun little fried chips and dip, the yummy carnitas with avocado.... Again, I imagine if you are trying to kill a business this is a good way to do it. My advise is stick to the bar and order as little food as possible. I do appreciate the business manager comments, and I will be back because I do enjoy the location! Went here for happy hour with my mom. We enjoyed every snack on the happy hour menu plus the cheesecake. I also had a delicious beer with huckleberry and lemon. The tacos were super flavorful-chicken with seaweed salad and Siracha aioli. The wings were huge and had a sweet sauce and the dill/lemon dipping sauce. The sliders were one of my favorite items along with the fried cauliflower. The buffalo sauce was spicy! The empanadas could have been better with some more flavor. The quesadilla wasn't good at all and not something I would recommend. The cheesecake was so good! Rich, dense and delicious-the way I like it!! And the crust was supreme. I also loved the beer. I love hanger steak and good beer options, so the Manito Tap House quickly got my attention (when I was browsing dinner options on the Yelp app). My boyfriend avoids gluten because he doesn't like what it does to him, so I was also excited to see that gluten-free options were highlighted on the menu. When we arrived on Thursday evening, the place was packed! Good sign. We enjoyed looking at the bottle chandelier and were very impressed by the hostess. She was doing a great job managing the tables, and my boyfriend mentioned that she seems to have a better understanding of what the waiters have to work with than most hostesses. She was very... good at managing a room of tables and customers, I guess. (Hard for me to explain?) When we sat down, we mentioned a gluten intolerance and they said the hanger steak dish was one of the best gluten-free options. The waiter did a great job taking our orders and helped my boyfriend picked out a cider that he'd enjoy. When the food arrived, however... there were a couple sort of small issues. My boyfriend's salad had croutons on it and his steak had the cheese that he asked for them to not include. We ended up asking for a different salad, but he ended up just eating the entree because that's more of a personal preference (than the gluten). We did enjoy our salads and rare hanger steaks (with veggies), but if we return I think we'll both ask for no cheese/butter on the steak. I'm sure plenty of people love and will love the cheesy flavored butter... but we are not those people. (I didn't ask for them to skip the cheese/butter this time because it sounded interesting and I wanted to try it.) I don't live in Spokane and will probably not be visiting the city again soon, but... Manito reminded me of Brouwer's Cafe in the Fremont neighborhood (of Seattle), so I guess I can visit Brouwer's whenever I'm in the mood for something "like Manito." I guess another option is Fremont Brewery... Manito carries at least one of their beers! (If you also live in Seattle and like those places, then I think you might like Manito in Spokane.) read more

Food is great, the atmosphere is terrible. I think I left after dinner deaf. It is so loud and painful to the ears that the food and setting is ruined. How about some soundproofing tiles on the ceiling? Drunk behind us swearing up a storm, so loud the baby on the other side cried and cried.
