I ordered my wedding cake from Manmi bakery. I had a great experience with them since the start. The business owner is a young gentleman who is super nice, knowledgeable and efficient. It took us less than 30 minutes from walk in to finish the order plus tasting. Both of my husband and I LOVEd the flavor of the cake. The cake is so soft and fluffy which reminds me of a Japanese cake. Cream is delicious and light. I tried so many other bakeries. None of them taste even closer to what Manmi has. All my wedding guests are so thrilled about the cake. And they were all taking about it and asking me where I got them afterwards. Price is also very good. My family and I have been coming to Manmidang for more than 16 years. It's the best every time, for both the freshness and the taste. Our favorites are their chestnut bread, soboro, cream bread, and red bean bread. I do especially like manmidang's red bean because it's not very sweet. Their cream bread is quite lovely too - try their mocha cream! Quick tip: they have a basket of day old breads that are half off! About 75 cents per. Delicious.....we stumbled across this place a few days ago. Hungry for some sweets after a delectable lunch, we found it. The woman behind the counter served us with a smile. We tried the rice doughnuts and cheesecake; they were both delicious and freshly made. I was obsessed over the rice doughnuts, so much so that I had to go back today for more. We decided to try a few other treats today. We tried a white bean pasty and the cream puffs, once again, we were impressed. The texture and taste of the filling was fresh and rich. One of the two women behind the counter remembered us and greeted us with a big smile. She was happy to see us back! The place is small and there is limited seating outside, but unless you are planning a big birthday party, it really doesn't matter. Great customer service and good tasting desserts = a happy camper. No luck, but this tiny bakery came up in the results, and based on the positive reviews we decided to give it a try. After downing three of the deliciously light cream puffs in about 7 seconds, I can say I'm a big fan. The only question is how many to purchase: a half dozen costs only $2.50, so there's probably a real danger here of cream puff overload (and yes, the law of diminishing returns will kick in around the time you pop cream puff #76 into your mouth). Everything is so cheap - hovering around $1-$1.50. The GOMBO BREAD is unbelievable. It's like a sweet bread roll covered in peanut butter cookie. It's so soft and chewy and moist and not too sweet. They are always taking a batch out of the oven when I get there so they're always super fresh. I buy at least 5 every time I go there. Other tasty treats are the peanut butter sandwich, MOCHI BREAD, cream puff, red bean bun, and loaves of bread. I tend to stay away from the cookies. I also like their cakes with fresh fruit - my mom always requests one for her birthday. The women who work there are soooo nice! The only thing is that I don't like how they use so much packaging, but all the Asian bakeries do it. read more

This is my FAVORITE korean bakery. It's just an unassuming joint with super fresh and delicious bread. I hate places where things look good but taste nasty and are super expensive (ie: most korean bakeries). Their gum bo bbang (aka soboro) is THE BEST. It has the perfect hint of a peanut butter taste and the crust that surrounds the bread and even spills over is the best. The crust is seriously the best part because it's perfectly chewy and sweet. It's kind of like how the muffin top is the best part of the muffin and you end up eating the muffin top and leaving the rest. Sometimes, I end up just eating the outer rim of the bread because of the super tasty crust and leave the rest. Every person I have introduced to this bakery LOVES their gum bo bbang and everything else there. I prefer the 5 dolla PAT bingsoo from a bakery over $10 coffee/choco/greentea/fruit/blabla bs from overpriced cafes lol - Gombo bbang is like peanut buttery, milky, soft, chewy, moist, fluffy goodness. Needed a last-minute birthday cake at a pretty late time at night. And ta-da, Manmi Bakery saved me! I got their small mocha cake. They call it small, but it's enough to feed 8 (which was the case with this particular one I got). $24--okay, I can live with that. They decorated the cake well, which I greatly appreciated. The cake itself, though, I was slightly disappointed. My friends seemed to like it, but I wasn't so sure. I did like that the cake wasn't too heavy--it's more of a fluffy, Asian-styled cake. However, it only had a hint of mocha flavor to it. And there was this one layer of dense, butter-y cream in between the sponge cake that did not work for me. Definitely got a little too much as you ate your slice of cake. You get a free cream puff if you check in on Yelp though, so make sure to check that out! After Alice Y brought the mocha cake from here for my birthday, I've been coming here for birthday cakes and other random Korean pastries. The mocha cake is definitely a win, with a nice coffee flavor, but at the same time being light and not too heavy or overly sweet. The small size can serve at least 8 people. It also comes with nice chocolate pieces on top that resemble a flower with leaves. The overall presentation is classy. I also tried out the tiramisu cake for another friend's birthday. Like most asian bakeries, this cake wasn't too sweet or too dense. It had a fluffy and light layer of cake, with some cream in between with the tiramisu flavor. The surface had that powdered layer that you find on a lot of tiramisu. I still like the mocha cake better, but this is a close second. The woman behind the counter was nice enough to let me have a cookie from one of the walnut cookie packages so she could put my friend's name on the cookie to place on the cake. It's hard to put the name on the tiramisu cake, so we had to be creative to get it on there. I tried some of their pastries like the sweet potato cake, cream bun, and some other things, but I think I'll stick to their cakes and desserts rather than the pastries.
