I don't like to pay for replacement parts from the dealer (which appears to be the rule in this area of Maryland) but in this case it worked to my benefit. As for inspections, I have heard the same story about just about every repair shop. While I appreciate the level of scrutiny, it appears like a one time chance to obtain a lot of work. Coming from a neighboring state , I was naive as far as the costs and the 30 day requirement for findings to be resolved. A lesson learned the hard way. I have found the Walt Eger team to be responsive to my needs and to provide timely informative updates.

I came here 2 years ago, had the best experience.everyone was so polite!…read more this year I came back I had gave them some time so I call them 3 days later to see if I am cover by my warranty to get my car fixed and I didn't catch her name but ask for updates with my car she got really smart and said " what do you want that was very rude! James is at the front desk never called or gave me any updates, my car was there for weeks, He saying that my warranty should have called me but my car IS AT YALL SHOP, y'all have the details but James act like he don't understand things and really don't know how to talk to customers he is very rude ! I couldn't get it fix so I wanted it back to my house, So I TOLD THEM A DAY BEFORE that the tow truck is coming in the morning, I called James and I told him is my car ready and clear for the tow truck to get it and he said YES! So they waste the tow truck money and time because they throw Snow and and it freeze into ice on me car and around it and I had to call another one and I gave them some time told them to call me when I they are done so I can get another tow truck! So I called back James was like we been clear the ice off your car and I told him why u didn't say another, THEN HE JUST START LAUGHING THEN THEY THOUGHT I WOULD NOT KNOW BUT IS A BIG DENT IN THE BACK OF MY CAR THAT THEY DAMAGE! OVERALL BAD EXPERIENCES, JAMES JUST KEEP LAUGHING MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE AND I TALK TO THE MANGERS ROB AND HE JUST LAUGHING AND PLAYING AROUND JUST A BUNCH OF UNPROFESSIONAL CHILDISH PEOPLE DIDN'T GET APOLOGY OR ANYTHING! That's bad for business and will lose people, just learn how to be nice and professional everything should not be a joke!

I started with a "simple" inspection (simple does not equal shallow) and received a detailed printout of everything necessary and recommended, along with prices for the work. Several things I could take care of myself at home, but for the big stuff I trusted them to do at a fair price. I could not be happier! The work was done timely and in comparing to other shops, at a very competitive rate. All three times it has been completed before promised. But the other place where EMP *shines* is the customer service! Chrystal and Cam (front office) are personable and friendly. They made me feel welcome right from the start. I get updates as needed, both by phone calls and emails. And tbh, it's refreshing to do business with someone who just hits all the right notes - including listening to me ramble, joking with me, and talking about cars we like. I'm so very glad I was directed to this outstanding business and would never go anywhere else! PS - the one name shown in full is a pet of an employee! A little Easter egg Chrystal likes to have fun with :D In case you can't read it, it's "HugnKiss"

I told him that the car just had a full inspection with my oil change and there's was nothing wrong. However, he claimed he could fix it for 400 bucks. Upon a re inspection by a more credible place I was shown and told that the item that he said needed repairing was perfectly fine. The vehicle was brought back to seven oaks to confront him and he immediately got defensive and would not talk to me. He refuses to show me exactly where he seen leaking. Needless to say this guy is a ripoff and a disgrace to fellow veterans and the small business owners.

Keep in mind the part that was broken on my 2014 was a piece that doesn't go bad on cars for yeaaaarrrrrssss or 100k miles!! I have 20k on mine.. The whole situation was VERY sketchy especially when I was waiting, I heard a loud sound - looked over and he was under the part that was broken. Funny how that happened. He told me he could fix it right there for $250 and that any place else will charge me double. Luckily I have a 5 yr warrantee on the car bc I bought it brand new. I got it fixed at the dealership (they as well were shocked that this piece was broken). I brought it back to this auto shop to have the re inspection done. Then he tells me no because I had to come back only on tuesdays(?) for reinspecitons and he couldn't help me- even though he had no cars in the garages. And he claims he told me that which he definitely didn't. STAY AWAY

I had visions of transmission replacement and my savings being depleted. So I dropped my green monster off on this past Tuesday, and they gave me a nice Honda Accord loaner. They called me yesterday evening to tell me it was merely the fan clutch. Said the part was on order. It must have come in express, because they called around noon today to say it was ready. That fan clutch must have been dragging, because now the truck is way quieter, adn is back to being the beast I love to drive every where. Goss Garage II. Goss quoted me $993 to replace what they claimed was a bad headlight assembly. They listed the part alone at $619. Before approving anything, I asked two very standard, very basic questions: 1. "What is the part number for this $619 headlight assembly?" Melissa told me, "Unfortunately we don't get that until the part arrives." This makes no sense. A shop cannot order a part without knowing the part number first. Big red flag. 2. "How much is the markup on that part?" Melissa said, "Unfortunately I don't have access to that information." Again -- impossible. Every shop sees cost vs retail in their system. It's how parts are priced. Another big red flag. Both responses were evasive and dishonest, and no reputable shop would answer those two questions that way. I took the car to another mechanic (Ron at the Mobil station on 301) for a second opinion. He found the REAL issue was simply a melted connector--extremely common with older cars. He replaced the connector and bulb for $113 and everything works fine now. I saw the owner of Goss respond to another negative review by comparing Goss to a steakhouse and talking about their "warranty." Warranties and steaks have nothing to do with overpricing and refusing to disclose basic information like part numbers and markup -- information every legitimate auto shop can provide instantly. I'm fine with paying steakhouse prices if that's what I ordered, but not if the restaurant can't even tell me what cut of meat they're serving! Bottom line: --Goss tried to sell me a $993 repair that wasn't necessary --Goss refused to disclose part number or markup when directly asked --Another shop fixed the real issue for $113 The upselling is off-putting, but the lack of transparency around parts is inexcusable. We will not be returning, and I'd strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any work here.
