We had a company party for over 80 people that we celebrate every year. It costs the company thousands to reserve a space and pay for our meals. I am a plus 1 and have been attending these events since 2010. Last night was truly a disappointment. First of all they were still accepting regulars, no place to park and no place to sit at the bar. Secondly the appetizers were served on NAPKINS! We had water pitchers at the tables and when we asked the waitress where we can grab a soda she suggested we go to the bar, but also needed to add that she was busy passing out appetizers and couldn't help us. This rubbed me the wrong way because I wasn't asking her to bring me a drink I was prepared to get up myself. But also 1 waitress for a whole reserved section of almost 100 seemed diabolical. Food was great, but when dessert was coming out I grabbed 2. Same waitress told me it was 1 per person because they were limited. Let me remind you I was a +1 so I was grabbing the other for my date. Which I told her and she just said ok but still didn't hand it to me, I had to grab it. Making that statement made me feel like you weren't prepared. Desserts were served on Dixie plates and plastic forks. They also served coffee, which I was excited about. Until I grabbed the sugar packets and they were stuck together. Like they were previously wet or something. I don't know if the waitress was over whelmed or she was upset she wasn't getting tips (which I'm sure was added to the reservation fee, or atleast should have been) but those little things ruin the ambiance for the attendees. I surprised my husband with dinner here for his 30th birthday, and we absolutely loved it! We started with the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were delicious. I ordered the pesto steak fettuccine and it was incredibly flavorful, honestly one of the best pastas I've had anywhere. My husband ordered the surf & turf, and his steak was cooked perfectly. He also really enjoyed the lobster. Overall, everything was amazing and it made for a perfect birthday dinner. We will definitely be back! read more

I first went to Manny's when it opened on Springs Road. I knew it wasn't going to be a Morton's or a Ruth's Chris, but man -- the food tasted like something from a main line galley. Salty and tough. Oh well, first time's a trial run. A few months later, I gave it another shot to see if they'd improved (I still eat steak). Nope. Same lame taste. Oh well, lesson learned. Then I saw locals hyping it up on Facebook like it was Peter Luger's, so I chimed in and said it wasn't for me. That didn't go over well -- some older folks came after me like I'd just insulted their grandkids. Whatever. Someone told me, "Try the steak sandwich!" So I said, "Fine, give me one." When I picked it up, I asked the maitre'd where they get their meat. She said, "Sysco." Oh great. Cafeteria food. My mistake for assuming otherwise -- I don't eat "Choice Beef." Strike three. Fast-forward a couple of years -- they moved to the Vallejo waterfront and added a bar. I love alcohol. Pairs well with beef. So I went in for drinks only -- not bad. Hard to mess up a pre-mixed bottle, but I ordered a Manhattan. Solid drink. Props to the bartender. I went back a few times after that for the chilaquiles -- you know, tortillas and eggs, can't really mess that up. I even had my birthday breakfast there last year. Everyone was mad I picked Manny's, but hey, expectations were already low. Usually, I phone in my order for pickup. Today I called for chilaquiles and biscuits & gravy. The young woman on the phone needed clarity on every detail: how I wanted my eggs, choice of meat, add avocado, red onion -- all that. Fine. Twenty minutes later, I went to pick it up with my toddler. The young girl at the counter looked lost and asked to confirm my order, but it was clear it had never been placed. She confused it with something about potatoes, so I repeated it again. After fifteen more minutes of waiting (with my toddler getting antsy to go to the playground), I put him in his car seat and went back in, just hoping to grab and pay. The kitchen was still questioning my order, and the girl said, "A few more minutes," which meant nothing at that point. Dishonest like "my dog ate my homework." I left. We are very understanding when mistakes happen. However, from the beginning, our waitress responded with excuses and attitude whenever we brought issues up, which is what turned small mistakes into a terrible experience. "I didn't hear you ask for that" "You didn't tell me you want that" It started with a salad that was ordered but never brought out. When we asked about it, she immediately blamed us, saying we never ordered it, despite everyone at the table clearly remembering that we did. A simple apology and fixing the mistake would have been enough. Next, one of us ordered a side of rice with our steak but was given mashed potatoes instead. When we asked for it to be corrected, they took the entire plate, including the utensils and brought back the correct side without any utensils. When we asked for another set of utensils, our server responded with, "I didn't hear you ask for that." That kind of response was rude and unnecessary. We all ordered our steaks with different doneness levels, yet some came out wrong causing some of us having to switch. I ordered mine rare and received it well done, while the medium rare steak was actually rarer than mine. When we asked for the correct doneness, she disappeared and avoided the table. We eventually had to get up ourselves to ask for an update. When she finally returned, she put the plate in my face without saying a single word. The order was eventually corrected, the long wait and poor service completely killed my appetite. Everyone else was done with their meal when I finally got mine. To make things even more uncomfortable, a random woman came to our table with our server to ask how everything was, only to tell us she doesn't even work there and was just "hanging out." Overall, the service was terrible, the food was nothing special. The sides were largely untouched because they were underwhelming. What a nice chill spot by the water. They used to be located elsewhere but I'm glad they moved here because it is a much better location that's gaining more traction. The inside is clean and spacious with lots of seating options, a bar area, and a fire pit. The ambience is chill and good for family gatherings, lunch with coworkers, or having a drink with friends. There are a variety of menu options to choose from--sandwiches, steaks, seafood, shareables, everything. My personal favorites are the ahi tar tar and scallops. Service is usually swift and friendly. I've tried a number of menu items: 1) Burger: large portioned, high quality beef. 5 stars. 2) Pork Chops: generous portion. Grilled fresh veggie medley. 5 stars. 3) Chicken picata: tender fillets Grilled fresh veggie medley. 5 stars. 4) Fried Fish Sandwich: substantial fillet. Fruit salad was tasty. Sandwich 5-stars. Fruit 4 stars. 5) Grilled chicken sandwich: Dry, small portioned chicken meat, did not come close to filling out the sandwich bread. 2.5 stars. Fruit salad 4 stars. 6) Lobster Dinner: Grilled Lobster tail, well seasoned. Comes w/ drawn butter. Baked potato (loaded). Soup was clam chowder. Grilled veggie medley. Visiting from out of town, we initially planned to eat at the brewery next door, but their menu didn't excite us, so we ended up at Manny's instead. Definitely glad we did, at least for the garlic cheese bread, which was delicious and full of flavor. Based on that, we had high hopes for the steak sandwich, which both of us ordered. Unfortunately, it didn't quite measure up. The bread was lukewarm, and the bottom half was soggy, like it had been sitting too long. That said, the steak itself was cooked well and tasty, and the onion rings were solid. Service was friendly but a bit underwhelming. Our server seemed stretched thin--we sat with empty beer glasses for a while, and by the time she returned, I had lost interest in ordering another round. The highlight of the experience was the view, absolutely beautiful and worth the visit on its own. One odd downside: there's only a single bathroom for such a large place, which felt like a strange oversight. We recently hosted my grandmother's funeral luncheon here, and the experience was truly wonderful during such a difficult time. The team was incredibly accommodating and flexible, which made the entire process much easier for our family. The food was excellent and everyone in our group had great things to say. You can really tell that the owner, Manny, genuinely cares about both his staff and his customers, it shows in the way everything is run. Jordan was our waiter for the day and he was fantastic. Even though our group wasn't overly demanding, there was still a lot to manage with tables, buffet refills, and a few last-minute additions. Jordan handled everything effortlessly. He added extra tables when we needed them, kept the buffet stocked, and took care of additional requests right away. We are so grateful for the care and professionalism they showed our family. Average dishes and delayed wait time for seating. There was no podium or just to greet us, which seems odd these days knowing that sit down places would have a greeter/host. I ordered their steak pesto pasta with garlic bread. I was not a fan of the diluted pesto flavor. The steak pieces tasted plain and not marinated as most places would have prepared them. They have a nice view of the waterfront though. But I would try other places that serves decent pasta and steak. read more

6/29/24 Fact one. Restaurants often try to seat customers back to back with other customers. I imagine this is to cut down on server shoe wear. Fact two. I don't like extra noise. We were squeezed into a table next to some large boisterous folks and immediately we asked the hostess to move us. There were acres of empty space around. She had a bit of a put out look on her face as she acquiesced. The pumped in music was a bit overkill. Too loud to the point where you have to struggle to hear your conversations over the noise of the music and others trying to be heard over the music. Yes! The boisterous folks received their food and started doing more masticating and less jaw yapping. The hostess then seated a party of six or seven at our backs. We asked to move again but it seems the other party had asked and soon they moved and we had a relatively quiet spot in this nearly empty establishment. Oh no. Kitchen faux pas Alert!! Never a good look when I see a kitchen staff worker chewing behind the counter. Looks unsanitary and unprofessional. The food was served. Not many complaints about the taste. The bill was less than my wife had thought it would be. The server apologized for some slightly slow service. We had to pay the $7 Zampa tax to cross the bridge from Crockett for the privilege of spending money in Vallejo. Too bad the State of California did that to Vallejo. Nothing stands out about Manny's. The calamari had an unusually small proportion of squid bodies to very small tentacles. The steaks and chicken were pleasant. They might paint over the graffiti on the wall outside their kitchen. Probably won't be back but if someone delivered it to my home on their dime, Yes I would be pleased. read more

I had the Cajun Fettuccine Alfredo with Steak. First off my Steak was cooked past my requested Medium Rare and was lacking seasoning. The pasta was just blah, not sure if a couple sprinkles of Paprika and Cayenne makes something Cajun. Best thing on that plate was the Garlic Cheese Bread. I did like the Fried Calamari Appetizer. Buffalo Wings were standard. My sister in law called the Rack of Lamb "sad". My daughter thought her Ribeye and Mac Cheese was good. My wife's Cobb Salad was heavy on the blue cheese and probably should have been served on a wider bowl or plate to make it easier to mix. Other people at our table had steaks that weren't grilled to their preference. Mixed reviews all around. Maybe some tweaking and Manny's could be pretty good. read more

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers we found Manny's last week while looking for a new (to us) place to try. We were greeted immediately by Manny, himself, when we walked in the door. After being seated it was a bit slow for our waitress to arrive at our table. We admired the great view of the water while we waited. But once she arrived, our server, Nicole, took great care of us. My uncle got the filet with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. It also came with soup or salad and he got the clam chowder (which was the soup that day. He really enjoyed the filet and the soup! Mom and i shared a cowboy burger with a side salad and mac and cheese. Both were good. When the waitress checked on us, i mentioned that the mac and cheese could use a bit more sauce- she brought me more sauce! The sauce on its own is so yummy!! Manny's is arguably the best restaurant in Vallejo. Our first dinner at Manny's was in the fall of 2023. It was our anniversary so we wanted a nice night out but we also didn't feel like getting dressed up for a fancy date night. And we ended up having such a nice evening. We both had surf and turf and we both thought everything was delicious. The price was very reasonable and service was excellent. The only negative thing I could possibly say was that the atmosphere wasn't at the same standard as the food, but that was the old location and no longer the case. We dined at the new location on New Year's Eve and had an even better dinner than the first time. I have to admit the server situation was a little confusing. Everyone was polite and helpful, but we never really figured out which one was our waiter or if everyone checks in on all the tables. But service was still good and the fiod was excellent once again. I had the ribeye, my husband had the t-bone, and our little girl had a cheeseburger. The new location on the water is really nice. There was a bar and an open fire near the entrance. A band was doing up for the evening's festivities while we were there. I don't know if that's a regular thing, but we did enjoy a couple songs before we left. They do need a kid's menu. There are options, but no menu so you won't know unless you all specifically. At least that was our experience. But overall it was a great dinner. We'll definitely be returning. read more

A great location, probably the best view you will find of the waterfront. The interior has a cozy, upscale vibe with a hint of nautical. The fireplace is a great touch, adds a comfortable environment. The windows are the best part, you truly get a panoramic view of the water. Service was amazing, I was greeted promptly and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu. Their garlic bread is so delicious! Definitely a must try menu item. I should say the fire place and the waterfront view is the best that they have. The ribeye is bland and dry and I ordered this medium. The filet was good, and unfortunately honey glazed chicken tasted like your regular Hawaiian bbq. Each entree came with soup or salad. The clam chowder is on the salty side but it was a bowl and not just a cup. Maybe it was just our luck, but the beer tap wasn't working and they were out of pork chop. Service is alright. They probably need some more help so that our server would be more available. Our wait for the food was a good 30mins and the place was less than half full. read more
