A table for 13 for my 78 birthday. Excellent !! Service was excellent we requested a water view. We were given a long table at the end of the restaurant. We had 3 kids under 8 so they ran around but was far enough not to bother any one. We ordered rib eye steaks , salmon and Chicken Alfredo. Everyone Raved about how good the food was how perfectly cooked the steaks were. Melt in your mouth. Some had drinks. I did. Perfect I had 2. Finally got to try the new location dor Mannys steakhouse. Ordered the asian noodles with steak, my goodness this dish hits the spot. Maybe cuz im asian, but the flavor is all there. Good portion of steak cooked to perfection. Kids n wife had steak burger, chicken burger and regular burger. They all also spoke highly of their food. Great place to eat! Last night, I joined colleagues for a holiday dinner at Manny's Steak House. Despite the nice view of Mare island's lights and a menu that looked promising, the place was disappointing. My salmon was raw in the center, the mashed potatoes were awful, and the service incredibly poor. After delivering our meals, the waitress did not return to check on us for 30 minutes. No wine is served at the table; you have to walk to the bar. I did that and had to wait several minutes while two employees carried on a private conversation while ignoring me. The pour I got was not generous. I couldn't eat the salmon (don't like sushi) and potatoes, but I got charged any way. In-N-Out would have been a more pleasing meal. read more

On Saturday, we went to Manny's Steak House in Vallejo for lunch. We had gone to Taste of the Bay in Vallejo and decided to have lunch at Manny's. I had the restaurant bookmarked for quite some time. I didn't realize until we arrived that it was in the former Front Room location. Two of us enjoyed the steak sandwich, and our other girlfriend had the California chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals, and the service was great. Prices were reasonable for lunch. Manny's is right on the water, so you can enjoy the view and your meal simultaneously. Katelyn is so friendly, so attentive and absolutely adorable. Theresa is another fantastic server here. Went here with my love out on a whim. Never been before but heard about it. It was decent. Crab cakes were bomb. Portion of chicken and shrimp in pasta was nice. Chicken sandwich wasn't anything special but it was good. Service was good, only thing I didn't like was that they don't have fountain drinks only canned drinks, for this to be a steak house it threw me off a bit. Oh also no bread and butter. Great location in Vallejo. Right next to the Napa river channel across from Mare island. Lots of free parking. Walk right in by the bar. Which, by the way is well stocked. And has three giant televisions to watch your favorite show. The hostess will seat you and the dinning hall is quite large. Sit right next to the river indoors of course. Hubs and I posted up at Manny's on a Sunday afternoon, which non-surprisingly busy feeding the post-church crowd. We checked in a the host stand and was told that we would have a 30 minutes. The bar was a nice relaxing place to seat ourselves. Taking a look at their taps, I was disappointed to see that Mare Island Brewing Co. wasn't on the menu. But it was refreshing to see that Napa Smith Brewing Co was available. To save ourselves some time we also ordered appetizers, the ahi tar tar. One of our local townies, snickered to the bartender about my order. Not sure if it was because I already had some liquid courage inside of me, but my response was, "If they didn't want me to order it, the shouldn't put it on the menu." But the appetizer wasn't quite ready by the time our table was ready, so we had to close out our tab at the bar and ask the appetizer be sent to our table. The view. If you're lucky to be seated by the window, you can catch sweeping views of the Napa River and Mare Island just across the way. This particular afternoon, it was an unseasonably warm winter day, and there were a lot of power walkers whizzing by on the walkway. We even caught a glimpse of the sailboats passing through (I totally forgot Vallejo has a yacht club). However, if you catch the sun at the wrong time, you're in for a blinding meal (luckily they have shades you can draw down). The meal. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting here. But I should've set my expectations a little more appropriately. This was not House of Prime Rib, for sure. But hubs ordered a Rib Eye Steak and I ordered the Steak Sandwich. Admittedly both were a little too tough. I would probably compare this to the steak that you would get for breakfast next to an order of sunny side up eggs and hash browns. So I've been to the original location but due to the location and what appears to be an upgrade to the menu. I made reservations for 6:00 and as PACKED as it was and the parking lot as well I was surprised that we were seating immediately. I don't put criticism on the host and hostess because they don't quality control what comes out of the kitchen but have to keep the guests happy. But when you call your place a steakhouse and the steaks were very tough and chewy and heavily charred it's not good. And the steak knives were about the size of plastic knives. Seriously. The only thing that wasn't overcooked was the lobster tail. It was Undercooked. If I had a skewer long enough to reach the fireplace near me I could have cooked it more. Located at the old red onion building, and my fav buds burger, it was reminiscent going into that area. However, inside it was more clean and casual than the former establishments. Nothing too fancy, but like other steakhouses it had the table cloth. Bathrooms were really clean, actually. This place is such a pleasant surprise in Vallejo. I usually go to steakhouses in sf, the peninsula, and Napa. This place is not the best, but great value and I don't have to drive too far. We had the fettuccini Alfredo, which wasn't bad; and came with a lot of garlic bread with cheese. The clam chowder came with my rib eye, and it was delicious and thick. The rib eye was so tasty and fatty. I like it rare and it was was cooked perfectly. For desert we had a rocky road cheesecake. It was a nice size and not too sweet. Remodeled Front Room. Menu has something for everyone. Ordered the spinach ravioli, I didn't see any it was filled with cheese I didn't see spinach inside at all. I asked the server was it cheese or spinach? And he didn't know. It was slight heavy on the cream sauce, and I ordered chicken breast with it. Comes with a slice of garlic bread. Was greeted immediately on a Saturday afternoon. It was a great ambiance with families and people watching football. The food was good, the food can use some flavor though. The Alfredo was excellent. I got the ribeye medium which was a little overcooked, veggies had a nice char. The ahi tar tar could use a little more seaming, but overall good. To start, the owner, manager and employees should be very proud of themselves and this business. Fantastic service, lighting, this location would be perfect for any party from single person to full blown weddings. I started with the crab cakes, as a born and raised Pacific Northwesterner, crab cakes are a must have. These cakes were absolutely delicious, smooth and rich and complimented by the chipotle aioli, I could've just had those and been happy. If they made these into a sandwich, I'd eat half my weight in these easily. Now the main course was the Black and Blue Burger, medium well. I've found that most places will put a LARGE amount of blue cheese on the burger for whatever reason, Manny's? they gave it the RIGHT. AMOUNT. PERFECTLY. Hole in one, royal flush, 4.0 GPA perfection. Cold and crisp veggies as well always makes a burger better, DO NOT CHANGE A THING. Forget Mare island next door, eat and drink here. The bar is well stocked with a great selection of liquor and beer. Bonus: One of the customers played the piano for him and his wife's anniversary (which in some places can feel tacky, not at Manny's.
