Beer is great really love the Sunday brunch. The staff was okay. The lady who made our food was nice. Servers had no masks. Food is so so. I got a pretzel that was actually super freaking good then had the BBQ chicken pizza. Was okay. A little burnt. The atmosphere was dark and dusty. Beer machines leaking water on the floor. Good food, good atmosphere and very family friendly. I like to enjoy a time out with my husband preferably without kids, but since it's hard to find a babysitter sometimes, it's nice to know that this place welcomes families. Excellent homemade beer! The pizza and beer special is an amazing deal and the food/beer is worth way more than their charging! Last time I stopped in I met the owner who's a real down to earth guy. Apparently this business started as a side venture and really took off when he was asked to provide beer for one of his friends weddings. The rest is history. Just had the IPA and the garlic cheese pretzel and it was amazing!!! I would definitely come back here and recommend to friends. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Went to The Rock beforehand because it was closer to my house but they close the kitchen early on Monday and Tuesday without any notification anywhere, and they cleaned up their taproom an hour before closing. Up from So. Cal and found this gem of a brewery. Andy was attentive and explained the beers to us. Had the 4 taster flight of IPA's which were all flavorful and presentable with great aroma. Ordered a pint of the Critical Density which was delicious! Fruity with low hoppy flavor. Now for the food. Got a meat lovers pizza which was cooked in a stone fire pit. WOW! Delicious! This place is tucked away in a place that I feel like only locals really know about it. Conveniently off the 101 for those of you coming from out of town. They have good beer, fun outside seating (also indoor if preferred), games for your use, and outside pizza oven, and all the food ive had is great!!! Dont get me wrong, its just bar food. But it is very good quality, tasty, and hots the spot. I ve had their pizzas, crispy from the outdoor over. Ive had their pretzels, warm and squishy possible the best Ive ever had. I can't believe how the staff treats customers... Horrible. I unfortunately came to try this place out last Saturday 1/10/15. Don't waste your money on a place like this, I witnessed the Owner scream at a customer right inside the the brewery! the Owner dropped about 5 Fbombs at this guy inside. I couldn't believe how they treated this guy that was just watching the football game (the customer didn't appear to be drunk either) Seemed like the owner or owners are complete jerks. The beer was over priced and honestly crap. They had half assed tables that are lopsided, and long bathroom lines (1 shared single bathroom for a place that looks like it can hold 100 people) If you are in the area and want to try a better brewery check out Bang The Drum in San Luis Obispo, better beer and WAY better staff. Love this place!! First all I've been coming to ManRock since they were the hole in the wall off of Oak Park and Grand! Since day one the beer is phenomenal! I am a huge IPA fan and they never disappoint! For the food it's Homemade and never frozen! Love it! The family and friend run atmosphere is amazing! I guess these guys are neish to the commercial brewing scene. It's dark inside at night (not my preference, but it might be yours), had 4 of their beers, one was good, one was okay and two were not. Really really friendly staff, happy to tell you their story, their beers, what's up next, etc. It looks like they do some food, but specialize one night a week with burgers and draft discounts. A nice spot for live music out back with lots of seating. There is not a lot of choice in Grover, or the Five Cities for local breweries...so, this'll do if you're not willing to drive to SLO. read more

Great staff, great beer, great location and great vibe. I don't even want to write a review, since a lot of the appeal is the local and low-key vibe. We were visiting out from out of town during the off-season and were looking for a unique place to eat and chill, on a Sunday afternoon that was also friendly to our little dogs. We came across this place online and gave it a try. The staff couldn't have been friendlier to us and our pooches. There were just a few other locals either reading outside or chatting at the bar. The pizza was made to order in the oven outside, and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the stranger options. Their Thai inspired pizza with peanut was a very fun change, and great for a light lunch. I'm not much of a beer drinking but it was smooth and a fun change from a Budweiser. We'll certainly be back next time, and couldn't be more thankful to the staff for making our trip memorable. And the dogs approved too! read more

Don't be deceived because there a lot happening inside this place. This is one of the best brewery I have been. It is a family owned brewery. Mike is a master at creating unconventional brews. Deshia is the one who does the food and let me tell you their food is absolutely satisfying! This is definitely a gem for the local brewery. They have a 5 star patio and their inside has a garage pub and tap room combo feel. Their location is really low profile and at first I thought they were closed. Once you go in there is a lot of personality to ManRock. They have about 6 tvs sports nothing loud just a really chill place to be. It is worth a try for sure. read more

For a new brewing company (about a year old) I didn't expect much, but I was completely blown away by the time I left. I had one of the best and most interesting beers that I've had in a long time here, a Jack Daniels-Aged Sour Mash Double Stout (I highly recommend it!) They also have mead and a few guests taps that included a cider. The pizza made a great snack and they even offered to substitute the onions I didn't want for bacon! Combine all that with the life music playing on their back porch I wish I never had to leave. I will be back next time I'm in the area to see what's new. read more

The atmosphere is killer, live music at times, good outdoor sitting with some games to pass the time, and the place is run by a local family who provide great service and product. I'm not a huge IPA fan, but that is currently the trendy beer, however their IPA's are pretty tasty. Huge fan of the Artichoke Pizza and their Boxer as well. You can take you dogs out on the patio which we have done. All in all just a really great place to chill, drink suds, and eat fabulous Artichoke Pizza. I went here to go grab a beer at a local brewery with my wife. Unfortunately, the beer wasn't anything to write home about. I ordered a pale ale and my wife a brown ale. The pale ale tasted "soapy" as my wife called it. It didn't have the taste of a lightly bittered pale ale. The brown ale was better, but still could be improved in my opinion. Lastly, we ordered an IPA, which the bartender described as your standard American hoppy IPA, but it definitely was not that. It didn't give me that "American hoppy IPA" feel I usually get with other IPAs here on the central coast. Stopped in expecting brewery and restaurant, but most of the facility was closed off and only a small bar was open. Service was good, but the bar menu was limited so we skipped ordering food. The beer was just OK and we left after one. Maybe it was just the timing. It was Saturday night and there were maybe 6 people in the bar. Felt more like a neighborhood bar than a brewery. We love ManRock and come here with our kids everytime were on the Central Coast. We've been coming since they first opened and have enjoyed tasting the progression of their foamy craft. This trip particularly, we were pleasantly surprised by the discovery of a whole flight full of sour brews available for tasting, along with all the delectable beers you would expect to find, from nutty Browns, to hop-tastic IPAs. ManRock's food menu is incredible. Everything we've had is delicious. Carnitas topped nachos, pizza, bierocks, giant perfectly baked homemade pretzels with beer cheese. They cook these goodies in a wood-burning oven right there on the patio. Speaking of the patio, you don't want to miss the opportunity to sit out on their relaxing patio. It's a sublime experience, especially while sipping good beer. We bring our kids and play board games with them to keep them happy. Many people bring their friendly dogs. Everyone is happy! The owners of ManRock are down to earth, friendly people, they, along with their family, pour, cook your food and serve you. This place rocks. They just moved (few months ago) from their original location and everything is nicely set up. Like other reviewers said, there are games that you can play while you hang out, if that suits your fancy. The patio is nice with a few huuuuuge round tables and is also where the pizzas are made. Mmmmmm, brick oven pizza :D. I was able to take advantage of their taco wednesday gig and damn those chicken tacos were good! There are a few food items to keep you from leaving to go eat, which is a huge perk to me because I really enjoy a brewery that serves food...gotta have the munchies, man! Sounds like I made it there at the perfect time because there was a great selection of home brews including an IPA, double IPA, honey blonde, watermelon wheat, amber, and more. They also had a few other out of house taps, but why try those when their own beer was so good?! The atmosphere is super chill, the owner Mike is a way nice dude and everyone there is very easy to talk to. Even if I thought the beer was so-so (which is definitely not the case) I would go back just to support the people who run it. I look forward to returning! Just need to get back into the area again. We found ManRock when they were still in the smaller location over by Vons. At the time, I didn't even like beer, but my boyfriend fell in love with their beers and we loved the atmosphere. We live in Long Beach but every time we would come up for a weekend we would always be sure to hit ManRock. I fell in love with their mead the first time they made it and that became my drink there. I went one time and they were out of it so I figured I would get a beer and see what happened. They let me try a couple and I settled on an IPA which I was kind of surprised that I liked. Now it's always a toss up between beer and mead but food is always a must! The pizza is heavenly.... It is the most fresh pizza I have ever had and for some reason pretzels and poppers just work perfectly with beer. The atmosphere is really what grabbed us. I would usually rather buy beer and chill at home most of the time to save money but ManRock is always an option for us when we are in town. The people are fantastic, both the people who work there and the people that frequent it. I have always felt at home there and have even had the owners check up on me to make sure I wasn't uncomfortable when I was having a beer alone and the guy seemed a little extra chatty. The situation was fine but I appreciated so much them checking. It's like being part of one big family every time we are there. This is easily my favorite restaurant and brewery, period. read more

My daughter lives a block from this place so when I was in town she took me to her local hangout. It was a laid back indoor out door place with a small band playing. Good crowd. They make their own beer and also have other great draft beers on tap. We didn't eat but I saw some pizzas going by and they looked good. We will try them next time. This looks like a fun place to watch a good band. The one drawback is they only have one bathroom that is mostly for women and one porta potty for guys. But we will be back for sure. And it's funny how this place gets great 4-5 star reviews and then one review in a 1 star and makes the place sound horrible. Hmmmm.... read more
