The nachos were good and the outdoor seating was very fun. The entrance looks like you're headed into a little warehouse.

I assume this place must appeal to locals who have never been to any of the other high quality regional breweries (FW, Fig, etc) that actually know how to make beer. I don't know what else accounts for the positive reviews - I don't understand how anyone could enjoy drinking this swill. I tried the Pale Ale, it was undrinkable due to almost no carbonation (improper fermentation) and a terrible bland initial flavor that faded to an aftertaste of metal shavings, soap, old dirt, and that weird dust thats been collecting on the shelf of your grandparents spice rack for forty years. That's not meant to be a joke - it's as accurate as I can be. I brought it back to the counter after finishing about 1/4th of the drink. Ordered the unfiltered IPA instead. Tasted it, it was marginally better though devoid of the bitterness and hoppiness you'd expect from a 7% IPA. As other people on Yelp have noted, it was far too malty to be called an IPA. The staff (Paige, who was nice) poured me a full glass and I don't think it was the same beer they let me taste. For an unfiltered IPA, this was crystal clear, what a mystery. As for the flavor, there wasn't any except an aftertaste that reminded me of the way plastic packaging from Chinese products smells. Also suffered from lackluster carbonation. Drank half of it. Yuck. Even just that much gave me a headache. (Too much sugar, due to improper fermentation.) The best part was that when I went back into the bar to get the food I ordered (which was also mediocre, but better than the beer,) the bartender had given my 3/4 full beer to a local barfly sitting at the bar. Not only is that scummy, it's unhygienic and surely against health code. For reasons such as the fact I spit my last mouthful back into the glass, so gross it was. Hope he enjoys contracting my herpes and hepatitis on account of this brewery's carelessness. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And yes, I was charged for, and paid for, both beers. The cherry on top of how much this place sucks is that they serve beers in these glasses I've never seen before that have rounded bottoms for some reason. Add this to the fact that half the outdoor tables are on a slanted hillside, and you have to hold onto your glass the entire time to keep it from literally rolling over like a Daruma and spilling your beer onto the ground (where, to be fair, it belongs.) And to the owner - you don't need to bother writing a passive aggressive "have a blessed day, thanks for reviewing" comment here like you do for all the other negative reviews. I honestly don't care. Spend your time instead actually learning how to brew beer or cleaning up your act. I love local breweries and have been to many of them up and down the coast of California and this is solidly at the bottom of the list, for beer quality alone. What a bummer cuz they do have a nice backyard I'd be happy to return to. On a positive note, they do have guest taps. But I won't be back. read more

We showed up around 2.30 and ordered a flight of beers and pizza and pretzels, the gentlemen helped me choose the beers and each one was great. The pretzel , toppings and the dips were the highlight , the pretzel was salty ,soft , crisp and everything a pretzel aspires to be. Eh.....this place has a cool atmosphere but if you are not a local expect to be treated so-so. If you like incredibly malty IPAs, then this place is for you. We got 2 different IPAs and they tasted exactly the same, with a slight exception of a metalicy taste on one of them. Both were extremely malty and not at all what was expected from an IPA. However when they came out with a dark brown color, I suspected they would be too malty/sweet., as they were. Very little hop flavor and aroma. Not good even if you think you're drinking a brown ale. The place is very cool with an outdoor area and cool interior, but I'd never go back. Quality place to come hang out. Surprisingly good selection of pizzas (spinach, artichoke and feta on gluten free crust... At a Brewery??) the husband would come here every wed for $2 off pints if he could, he loves the burgers, tacos, and of course beers. Occasionally I will join him to hang out and play corn hole out back, have an angry orchard cider on tap or a glass of wine (I'm never thoroughly impressed on the wine selection and have actually complained about small wine pours... The Only The Essentials and Lucky Shorts tasted a little like cleaning solution to me but the Experimental Haze and Bromelian Express we're quite tasty. I didn't eat any of the food. read more

We finally made it back here after our first trip did not happen do to a power outage at ManRock. It was a pretty busy Saturday night with a party going on outside in the back. We were a little bummed that we couldn't check out the outside area as the party pretty much took over the outside but we ordered a few beers and settled in at a table inside. It took a long time to order beers because for some reason, only one girl was working behind the counter. I tried the Apocalyptic - DIPA which was pretty delicious. My husband had the Bag O' Bones brown ale and Devils Bath red ale, both of which were not very good. There is one unisex bathroom located outside of the actual brewery and as you can imagine, there was a long line. Not very well thought out. Who wants to spend time waiting in line for the nasty bathroom? We didn't get to check out the food but the menu looked like they had quite a variety of pizza and burgers. All in all, we will probably come again so we can check out the outside back patio which looked really nice! read more

Great atmosphere and the clientele was great also. I had a crisp sour beer which I loved. My husband likes IPA's but ended up with a Racer Five . He didn't think their beer was IPA enough. But he loved the Oatmeal Stout!! The family owned business is well ran and it looked like they had delicious food. We weren't hungry or else we would have eaten. The ambience is decent and and food is good. Not a huge fan of their beers. There are numerous choices for local brews here on the Central Coast so you've gotta pick where you want spend your time and money. Looking for good food with your beer I'd consider here. Looking for good beer selection, IPA, doubles, porter, brown ale or beer sampling I'd try one of the other myriad options. On a whim tried Manrock after seeing them through Facebook! Love the atmosphere, the beer and the staff make you feel like your at home! They have great outdoor seating that you can bring your kids or fur kids to, corn hole and a great stage for bands on Friday's. I love that I was able to come enjoy a great beer while my kids and I played one of the many games they have available. We shared their nachos and wood fired pizza. We went to the brewery for lunch. We are traveling and we had a small dog with us that likes to interact with other dogs but was a little noisy when we got there. We were trying to settle her down when another customer came up to us with his dog which didn't go well. Both dogs were making noise and the other customer took his dog away. We went and placed an order and after the transaction, we were informed that we had to leave because we couldn't have our dog there. She was already settling down. That the other guy complained. It's unfortunate as we come through there often and stop by there when we can (hours are not always in timing with our trip). We enjoy their pretzels and their beer but they have lost any future business with us and our family. We used to recommend this place to our family and friends but will no longer do this. The reason for only 3 stars is the over priced not worth the money food we had. The food was ok. For the prices they charged it should have been amazing. $15 for a pizza. Nothing special.
