Stopped in expecting brewery and restaurant, but most of the facility was closed off and only a small bar was open. Service was good, but the bar menu was limited so we skipped ordering food. The beer was just OK and we left after one. Maybe it was just the timing. It was Saturday night and there were maybe 6 people in the bar. Felt more like a neighborhood bar than a brewery. Great new location. The visit had its ups and downs. There were only 3 of their beers on tap, but of an interesting note is they make mead now. I also noticed the guest taps/bottles. Overall a good experience and hope to try more of their releases during the next visit. read more

Thought I should update my review. We went last Saturday and they had an amazing light beer, Plaskett. There was a second one too but I forgot the name. The only problem?...I drank way too much (sorry guys) LOL I guess that's what happens when you haven't been out of the house or out of your office too much in 2 months. Plus the amazing atmosphere, beer and people. Oh and our dog Duchess had a good time too. Everyone we take there returns. Even better, it's family ran by wonderful people and Brie. ;-) read more

Stopped in for lunch and brews. Great selection. The food was AMAZING. I wasn't expecting for the pretzels and beer cheese to be a 5/5 but they were. The salad was fresh and the fries and sandwich was good too. They have a pizza oven in the back, games, and a really friendly atmosphere. This place is family owned and operated and you can feel it. ManRock Brewing is owned and operated by such a nice family, and they only seem to select equally friendly employees. They have some really good flagship beers that are usually available and also brew a variety of new creations on a regular basis. AND they make great food too! The brick-oven pizzas are fantastic, and I consider their burgers the best I've had. read more

This is one of the best breweries Ive ever been too!! I've been coming here since they were at the location on Oak Park across from Vons and followed them to there newer and larger location. They have always been the most friendliest and accommodating staff brewery amazing craft beer! They are definitely family, they allow dogs, serve yummy food and let you watch football early on sundays! I had the burger with the egg, Canadian bacon and hash browns in it... holy cow so good!! Great atmosphere and a huge selection of on tap beers! Decent me I, sadly they were out of the tri tip for the bbq tri tip sandwich so I went with their steak sandwich. Good beer, nice people. Been here twice now. Both times live music was being played. Heaters out side made it nice to sit, which was good because the inside was packed. Only negative is there is only one bathroom. Several times I saw people urinating on bushes or oak barrels out side bathroom because there were several people waiting in line. Way gross and I hope they are not going to reuse those barrels. Definitely need at least a second bathroom with the number of people they can fit in there brewery. read more

Okay, so looking for some new beer,as I do. Decided to try ManRock as its literally two blocks from my hotel. Tried a flight of four beers and then ended up with something different all together. Some friends who are locals took us here on Monday as a reward for a day of painting. There were 5 of us and boy did we leave full! This was the first time I have tried mead, and it was very different than what I expected. I envisioned cherry to be sweet and syrupy. Wrong! It's tangy and delicious. Also it is 15% alcohol! Other folks at the table enjoyed lag unites imperial stout, something called "santa's little helper" and one of the house made brews on tap. Everything was good. Next, food. We were starving! So we ordered 3 pizzas, one spinachoke(I think that's what it was called), one basic cheese, and one chicken garlic. These were made in a wood oven in the back patio area. First of all, they were cooked to perfection. Crisp crust without being burned, perfect temperature on the toppings. The veggie pizza was delicious and flavorful. The chicken pizza had a garlic sauce, and a strong rosemary flavor to it which was fabulous. The cheese was just basic since we were with a vegetarian, but also delicious. The young man cooking our pizzas was really nice, chatting with us as he cooked pizza. The appetizers were pretty standard bar fare but the had fried dill pickle spears! Atmosphere was typical, there was a football game on inside so we opted for the patio. A girl named Paige ( I think) helped us and she was a sweet pea. The patio is huge, and there is a smoking section away from the food area where you can also have your drink so that was a plus. I am definitely coming here again next time I am in town, and hopefully they start bottling the cherry mead so I can bring some home. read more

My mom, boyfriend, and I stopped in for a round last night after dinner. What a fun place! My boyfriend loved the beers. I would definitely consider them to be a craft brewing company. We didn't try the pizzas since we had already ate but they looked yummy! There was a live band that was really fun and got the crowd into the music. It felt like a fun backyard party! If we lived closer I could see this place becoming a regular stop for my boyfriend and I. We'll just have to wait until the next time we go to visit my mom! read more

This place kicks ass. Not a 5 Star because gotta save something for the second coming of a god. The beers are good. I am an IPA drinker and had the occasional release Beach Town. It was what I would consider a classic West Coast. Had the DIIPA also. It wasn't a forced hop loaded drink nor an overly malt compensated extra alcohol choice. It's not all about the beer. Wood fire grill for pizza watch while you buzz, nice salads and best of all: SUPER NICE AND APPROACHABLE STAFF, most of which may own the place. Good beer. Good food. Good people. Great place. R U kidding me! I went to this place for the first and last time last night only to see a local fave band. Where to I begin, Oh ya. 1.) The "outhouse" ( I kid you not ) has only one toilet! You can figure out the rest for yourself, ( only in Grover ). 2.) The outside patio for music has the most uncomfortable metal stools imaginable, cold and rock hard, ( It gets better ) "they" decided to build a pizza wood fire oven five feet from where everybody listens to music. Yup that's right. Four different times in one hour, Everybody on the patio was choked out by the smoke. The band was kind enough not to say anything but the body language of most of us said another. Totally stupid set up... I order a pint and wanted the "homebrew" . The IPA is a generic and it's not even their own craft! It's Lagonita, thats served everywhere. I ask for some Costco miniature pretzels and the friendly server brings me back a Styrofoam mini bowl.. One Dollar Please!!! Seriously. We order the 10.00 Minnie pizza and I ask the server for some Tabasco, she brings me a packet of red peppers that I swear said Dominoes on them! What a shame as I love crated ale's but not here, not again.. I live a mile away.. Not here not again.. Keep drivin. Where all these five star ratings come from? Landed here this past Saturday afternoon with a large group of friends, meandered our way through the crowded, loud, narrow, dark front portion of the bar, then spilled out onto a spacious patio with umbrella tables, torches and an outdoor pizza oven. There was loud, motley bunch over in one corner of the patio so my more subdued group grabbed a couple of tables at the opposite end of the patio. That's why I love patios--you can be near the action but far enough away you can actually hear your conversation. The back of the bar is wide open to the patio so their multitudinous big screen televisions are totally visible from the patio, which made my football friends happy. So did the normal-size Jenga (apparently, I completely missed the giant Jenga). Jenga can get quite competitive after a few beers, but I digress. The owner (or manager) came over & greeted our table, engaged a bit, so did one of the friendly servers--made us feel at home. Someone in our group ordered a pitcher of light something-or-other and a pitcher of dark something-or-other, handed me a glass and asked me which? I promptly responded, "Yes, please!" So we're sipping our beers, enjoying the overcast not-too-warm day and my attention drifts over to that loud group in the other corner of the patio--younger, good-looking on average group, gettin' drunk, gettin' obnoxious--but hey, I don't judge, I was their age, I've been drunk and in need of attention in public, but they're starting to kind of push the envelope. One peroxide-bottled blond felt the need to show of her "enhancing surgery" with a cleavage that plunged down to her navel--but hey I don't judge--the again, I'm a gay dude and even *I* noticed them! Some of the gents had perfectly coiffed facial hair that screamed hipster, which, in itself screams wannabe hipster--as if anybody with self-respect would want to be a hipster. I didn't witness this myself but others in my group said that someone in their group lit up some illegal herb--now again, I'm not one to judge--California is PRACTICALLY Colorado--but it's still illegal and with management being held responsible for such actions, had to step in. Soon, that whole obnoxious group was "asked" to leave. I was slightly sorry to see some of the energy leave that place as it was much more subdued after their departure, but I'm sure it was for the best. I have a strong Nanny-And-The-Professor feeling that "one star Bobby J." was a part of that group and while failing to mention why said owner was upset, all the while distancing himself by saying he "witnessed it". Act like a douche-bag, get treated like a douche-bag. Next time, man up and tell the whole story "bruh". I refrain from granting a 5th star because, seriously--ONE unisex bathroom for all those customers? Can you imagine this coming summer when that patio gets full? #ManRock: more bathrooms! read more

Great food Great ambiance Great people This is your typical outdoor, beer garden/brewery, games, kids, dogs, live music. Super chill. If you like those kinds of places then this is your place. It is self serve from the bar and you pick your own table. There is one bathroom, outside, kindof small but typical for this type of establishment. The food was above average for this type of place. I love beer garden's and the food can be below par, but this place was amazing. The nachos were very good, the pizza was fresh and delicious, and the burger was fantastic. A few of my friends, and I came here a few days ago. We wanted to try a new brewery in the area. We all have a very good palate and like a large variety of different beers. We are craft beer connoisseur, and home brewers. This was the worst beer tasting to date. We left two tasters (5 large beer pours at $15 each + tip) on the table, and left. We only drank a small portion out of each of them. All of these beers we not even close to being acceptable. The IPA was very bad. It tasted like a beer that wasn't properly brewed. Almost tasted like wort that wasn't properly conditioned with little to no malt and hop character and huge sugar after taste. And don't get me started about the pale. After that there was a barrel aged beer, and two sours. All 5 - bad. If you can't get the two basic beers down, there is something completely wrong with your brewing style. It's was a very dark and uninviting place. It could use a huge face lift on the inside. I have seen "breweries" like this before. Where the beer is mediocre, but they make the bulk of the money off guest taps or food. Usually the beer is ok, one of them "decent". Yet, this was worse than any other place in the past. I would not suggest ever going to this place. We spent/wasted $30, that we cannot EVER get back. Take the time and drive a few miles to AG for Figueroa Mountain Brewing. The beers here were good. There were few I wasn't too fond of but the sour was really good. It had a really awesome atmosphere and there was a beautiful outside seating area with a stone oven grill and a place for live music. My fiancé and I played some connect four out of their board games (I won, naturally...haha) the food was also amazing! We had a chicken and basil calzone and it was so good! I came here about a year ago and never left a review. Recently, one of their employees whose name I don't recall came into the brewery I work at in Huntington Beach and reminded me of how much I loved visiting Manrock. One of the best DIPA's I have ever had and I have 2 good ones on tap right now. Friendliest people ever and damn fine brew. I look forward to visiting again some time.
