I came here about a year ago and never left a review. Recently, one of their employees whose name I don't recall came into the brewery I work at in Huntington Beach and reminded me of how much I loved visiting Manrock. One of the best DIPA's I have ever had and I have 2 good ones on tap right now. Friendliest people ever and damn fine brew. I look forward to visiting again some time. Wow what a Great family brewery! I would highly recommend this micro brewery to everyone. Really Great beer and home made style food. The pizzas or hamburgers may take a little longer to come out of the kitchen but it's worth it. Enjoy the brews and the local regulars that frequent here. And if you want to be an often patron buy a 24 ounce mug to hang on their wall and get your discount. This family really has it together. read more

Great atmosphere, surprisingly kid and dog friendly and I have had a few good beers here. They do guest taps as well so they serve beers that are from other breweries. The wood fired pizzas are just ok; get the one with hot sauce as it's the best. Other bar/snack food like pretzels etc. that are ok as well. Live music on occasion, owners are always on hand doing everything from cooking to pouring to cleaning to schmoozing. Clearly the star of the show is the atmosphere. Wonderful outdoor patio hangout. The double IPA (I am a big fan of IPA) they were promoting would be a better fit to pour on pancakes! Grossly unbalanced! So sweet! The bartender (owner?) was kind of pretentious too- acted like any customer was a neophyte to beer. I kept trying to like his IPA, and finally gave up after I drank about 1/2. I asked them if I could trade for 1/2 of something else- their response was, "sure, but we'll charge you". So much for having even a slight awareness of customer satisfaction. Jeez! I won't be back. And I'm a local! After just reading other reviews, I see that this is not unusual for this place. Bad beer, bad concept of customers. read more

I visit breweries wherever I go and this one is one of the best. Amazing beer, great food, and super cool owners. The place has a laid back environment and is perfect for chilling out after a long day or on a day off. If you visit the area and enjoy breweries, make it a point to stop here. A hearty 4 PLUS star review for ManRock Brewing. My wife and I stopped in for a beer on an early weekday evening and we very pleasantly surprised by both the great atmosphere and the excellent quality of the beer. Now, to be honest, from the parking lot it doesn't look like much, but once you are in the door you know your in beer geek country from the wonderful aroma of brewing beer to the sight of all those stainless steel tanks:-). We're not locals being from Santa Barbara (about 90 miles away) , but there were several locals at the bar when we were there ( they had mugs with their names on them). They made us feel as "at home" as did the attentive staff. Granted it was not quite prime time as we got there early but every staff member was friendly and communicative and the locals were all very cool. We didn't try any of the food on this trip (other than the peanuts:-) as we'd had a large lunch elsewhere but in the future I can't wait to try a pizza or burger along with the excellent beer. The ones we saw going out sure looked great and I bet once we try them it will be 5 stars all the way! Visited here for the first time and was very pleased. The indoor atmosphere is a little modern/cold but the patio off of the back is great! They have heaters as well as a fire pit burning. First things first: the beer is amazing! You can taste the heart that goes into crafting this delish brews. The pizza: absolutely mind blowing - italians should come here to learn how to make a great pizza. Seriously. But the best of all: the owners: absolutely lovely people, chatting with us, hit us with a stack of stickers, helped us out with our WiFi issues and acted as we were regularly customers for years (which we weren't since we were just visiting). ManRock was fun the night we were there. Lots of happy people (the outside tables were full) and a good musician. There were also quite a few outdoors games and board games to keep everyone occupied. The pizzas were really good and were served quickly. We both had flights (trying to cover as much ground as possible) and were happy with most of our beers. I would definitely come again. My only warning would be that it gets smoky outside between the pizza oven and the fire pit. Don't wear new clothes! read more

I work up here and sometimes bring my wife... we visited this brewery twice now... I don't think we will try a 3rd time. They look to have a good selection of beers, but both times we went there we felt like we were crashing a private party. First time there WAS a party on the patio so I understand. .. but this time there just seemed to be a bunch of locals and we kind of got the stink eye... nobody from the bar greeted us or acknowledged our existence while we searched for a table... the bartender did say hi folks to us as we were leaving... when we discussed it outside we both had the same feeling... who were we and why were we there... went over to AJ bar and had a good time... oh well, I drink Firestone and Sam anyways, not that big of a lost. read more

I absolutely love ManRock. I visit Pismo often from San Diego so I have exceedingly high expectations for craft breweries -yea, I know, beer snob here- and ManRock blows it out of the park. The beer is enjoyable and they have a little bit of everything. You will certainly find something that you'll enjoy. They often bring in other breweries beer too to help promote the craft. They offer wine if beer is not your preference. We have two young kids and they actually enjoy coming out to ManRock with us because they have many activities and board games to keep them entertained. Wednesday's and Friday's they offer live music that plays excellent jams. Service is always great! The patio is an awesome place to gather with your friends - perhaps play a large scale jenga game, dance with your significant other, sky is the limit. The food from what I have ordered is great too. They have a large brick oven on the back patio for fresh oven fired pizza. 10/10 my favorite place to go on the central coast. I definitely recommend it! Cheers! read more

Some friends and I came over from the Fresno area and we were actually planning on having a few drinks at a nearby restaurant, but lucky for us it was packed. I say lucky because we wouldn't have discovered ManRock! We all loved the Beer. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The owners made sure everyone was comfortable by lighting propane heaters once the sun set and it started to get a little chilly. I wish we could have been there on a night when a live band played, but we all enjoyed the music played over the speakers that night. AND it wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear the person next to you. We will definitely make a ManRock stop next time we're in the area. We'll be sure to order a handmade pizza that they cook in the outdoor pizza oven! They looked so yummy! read more

I don't like to write negative reviews for places, but when they deserve it, people need to know. My wife and I recently went here to support a local band one Friday evening--I'm thinking it is awesome to support a local establishment and a local band simultaneously. The experience was far from savory. We kept having all our neighbors and friends show up, then go at different times (the best part), and a birthday party was present there with approximately 25 people, which included children. Early on, a man and a woman who were hopped up on ecstasy (and even openly talked about it while sitting down and chatting together) stayed grinding, dirty dancing and having virtual sex on the dance floor (with everyone including children watching) for hours (yes, literally for hours), despite my wife's three (3) complaints to the staff during the evening (and anyone else who may have) and her being told that it would be "handled." It never was. This couple eventually graduated to such an intoxicated point that they started to fall on us who were sitting at a front bench by the stage--they had to be helped up off of us. Two things were actually good in this experience: the band was amazing and the beer was tasty. Here was the downfall to that: the place did not even take care of the band members with more than a little beer each for the night--if they wanted more, it would have come out of their meager compensation for the night. Also too, the beer was so expensive, who would want to stick around for a whole evening of socializing, especially when the line just to refill a beer was long and very time-consuming? If you "broke the seal" and wanted to relieve yourself, there is one (1) bathroom available--yes, one (coed) restroom--one at a time no matter how many people are waiting. And if you happened to have waited for a young woman who was also getting her "fix on" while attending to her lavatory needs, you'll be waiting there at the door for at least 5-10 minutes for that person--like I was! Later, when I asked the owner about the multiple complaints concerning the sultry couple dancing all evening on the dance floor, who at one time were even impersonating the act of cunnilingus (with children still there in the audience), he obnoxiously told me that "it has been handled." And just behind him on the dance floor while he uttered that statement like I was irritating him, those same two drug-induced ravers danced right behind him unbothered. Maybe they were relatives of his. We will never go back to that place. We will, however, try to find out where that band will play again--I believe they told me they were called something like "33rpm." If I could give THEM a rating, it would be five (5) stars!! read more

This is our favorite place to go for a few drinks. Family ran, and they know you by name!! Their new location is perfect for what they have going on. Large outdoor area. Live music and yard games! You can even bring your well behaved doggies as long as you stay on the patio. Beers are always changing which is fun. Great new location from there Grover beach one a lot bigger friendly staff and good food and big tv's so you can watch football all round the areas they also have a lite up patio and a band some nights I recommend for Sunday's for football and Monday's for football or if you just want a good locally breed beer to drink. read more

Let's face it, those of us who live where other people love to vacation know just how good we have it here. The climate and the easy access to so many places and activities make the central California coast a slice of heaven. The common attractions which bring people into our world are absolute blessings, but the places the locals use are the real gems. ManRock leads that list. The service is always outstanding; the food is awesome (the pizza is cooked in the oven right there on the patio!) and the atmosphere is reminiscent of "Cheers", from the 80's sitcom, "where everybody knows your name". Even with all this going for it, the beer and the mead are the best reason for coming here. The care and attention which goes into every brew they produce is evident. Produced right there on the premises, this family pours their passion with every glass. Samples are always gladly shared and, if you are unsure, the staff is willing to discuss any of their products to find the one which suits you. This small family owned business has grown significantly over the last few years, and continues to thrive, because they produce a quality product to be enjoyed in an atmosphere which just says "come and relax". Tried this place and I was quite impressed. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Answered all my IPA questions and hooked me up with a great beer. The bar food was good, but small portions and obviously came frozen, but can't complain too much since the beer was right on point. We will definitely stop here again when we are in town! read more
