My dad loves this place. And while it's not my favorite burger, there's no glaring issues to make me knock off a star. It's definitely one of the best burger places on the south side, and since I never eat on any other side of Chicago anymore, I might as well say it's one of the best burger places in Chicago. I'm not always obsessed with special extras on burgers like pineapple, an egg or a ridiculous amount of bacon. So recently I got a normal cheeseburger and I couldn't have been happier. It was cooked well and exactly what I wanted, I also got onion rings as I've only done carry out and fries don't always travel well. Definitely was a better choice, I had to fight my dad off to keep him from stealing em. They also gave some sort of mystery sauce along with the onion rings, not sure what it was, might have been 1000 island dressing or something like it but it worked well with the onion rings. Service is always solid and it seems like they wait til you arrive to put some finishing touches on your meal to make sure it's fresh and warm when you leave the store with it. That attention to detail definitely makes the 5th star on this review worth it. Most restaurants cook your food as fast as they can and then rest it on an oven or under a heat lamp which at best dries out your food until you arrive or at worst, overcooks your meal, I've had that happen numerous times with pizza places. Some restaurants don't even try to keep it warm. But this place makes sure your food is as fresh as can be with their little technique. And if they're not doing something special and I just happen to time it correctly each time then that's on me. I hope to eat in the restaurant soon to get the full experience instead of always ordering carry out, but it's just easier to pick up the food on my way to my dad's place and then we can watch a game or something funny on tv while we eat. But since they opened up a dine in room, I can't remember if they had that before covid, I've only noticed it in the past year, anyways since they opened that room up, it looks so nice, I've always wanted to dine in. read more

Soooooo sorry Yelp Community that I failed to post a pic of the Jalapeño Burger I ordered. But I wanted to enjoy it hot do I smashed it on the way home. It had great flavor just wish the guacamole wasn't so bland. Maybe needed a little more salt, and cilantro. The Vanilla Shake was good it kinda reminded me of a McDonalds Shake but good non the less. My husband had the burger with grill cheese as the top and bottom bun. He has a healthy appetite but couldn't finish it. I really enjoyed this place. Was working near by. The owner of the job site decided to buy us burgers . I had the blue burger and it was good. Dove in with no expectations and it blew me away . I don't even stop to drink beer .. damn I was surprised great burger not too big not to small . I'm satisfied. The fires where a bit burned but it didn't matter. My boyfriend and I go here EVERYTIME we are in the area. The family is so welcoming and respectful to us. Not only are their burgers unique and delicious, but I actually also love their sandwiches too! Definitely worth the trip. Expect to take out and not eat in though, not much seating. read more

To call this place mediocre would be a push. The food was a solid 3/10 but the service was what horrified me. This establishment let children just cuddle in their resturant and make out and made my family and I so uncomfortable. I went to Au Cheval, just to see if it was as good as all the hype. I waited 1.5 hrs for a burger that was NOT as good as Manzo's. Manzo's is worth the drive to the Southside. The Mushroom burger is the best. Be sure to eat it there. Something not quite as good when taken out. The fries are also great. Will be trying the burger with the egg later. read more

Absolutely love this place! I'm not even a burger fan, but both their crispy chicken and grilled chicken sandwiches are really good. Their wraps are delicious as well. But the fries. The fries are where it's at. You HAVE to get them if you're eating there. I've never had a bad experience with Manzo's. It's a family owned and run business and they're all very nice and welcoming. A gem of a find out in the Southside. You order at the counter, have a seat, and wait while your order is being made. I love what Manzo's is doing with their burgers: toasted brioche bun, top-notch beef, great skin-on fries with sea salt. I had the jalapeno burger and i fell in love with it at first bite: flavorful juicy beef with the succulent carnitas, chihuahua cheese and guacamole on top; delicious! If you're hungry and in the area, Manzo's Burger is the best choice. Top notch burgers and food at a reasonable price. Multiple burger combos, fresh fries, and even a gyro salad with the best dressing I've had in a long time. I was totally disappointed the last time I went (although I loved it the first time). I arrived around 8:45pm and wanted to order an Oreo shake. When I walked in the door, the woman asked me if I was there for pick up, I told her no, that I wanted an Oreo shake. She basically said sorry and that was it. Apparently, they'd already shut down the machine even though they didn't close until 9:00pm. It also looked like I would've been out of luck if I wanted to order a burger or anything else because the grill was already being cleaned. Having worked at McDonalds when I was 15 - I recall customers coming in exactly at the closing time and we still prepared whatever they requested. It was not an option to turn away customers if the doors were still open. I understand that everyone has long days and if you can clean up early to leave early, that's a bonus. BUT, it is unprofessional to be unable to take orders 15 minutes before the restaurant closes. You should be prepared to still provide food until your restaurant officially closes. read more

Manzos is a great spot to stop and grab a burger. It is a family owned joint in a family oriented neighborhood. The owners are very friendly and welcome you into the store-front as if it is their home. They have a wide array of burger choices all of which are good. My favorite is the 5-star burger, it offers a perfect variety of taste, from the sweet caramelized pineapple to the salty applewood smoked bacon, this burger is sure to please any connoisseur. I also recommend the Italian Burger, the Sunny Burger or if you're really daring, the Hangover Burger. The only downside of Manzos is the location. Stuck on the busy intersection of Western and 111th St. There isn't enough parking and it is very busy/congested outside but don't let that stop you from making a stop in for a bite. read more
