I've been coming to Maple Leaf Donuts ever since I was a little girl. My dad used to get them for us every Saturday. They have THE BEST doughnuts in town, hands down. I've gone to other doughnut shops only to be disappointed by the lack of freshness and taste. I try going once a month to pick up a dozen for my coworkers before work and they absolutely love them. This place has been here forever and the people who work there are so nice! I'll continue to be a returning customer for as long as they're still making those yummy donuts!! This place is popular! There was a line at 9.30 on a Sunday morning and a lot of the donuts were already gone. There were still trays of hot donuts that were still coming out. All good signs! Nice friendly employees and the donuts were great. I ended up getting an assortment of a dozen. I told him that I wanted the 12 for $8 which is a great deal. Many times both employees attempted to put in the tip for me without my consent or they would overcharge me. There's also no signage for a 5$ minimum when using card but that didn't stop them from telling me anyways. Very disappointing. I prefer these donuts over Stans as they are less greasy and sugary. That being said, Hot fresh Stans glazed donuts are still the best! Krispy Kremes hot and fresh are also sugary, moist and hit the spot. ML are light, not too sugary, and not greasy. I've had the Maple logs, glazed, chocolate covered, bear claws and all were great. Just came here this morning and I don't know why some people gave this place bad reviews, Maple Leaf Donuts is FANTASTIC. The people behind the counter are so friendly and when you order a dozen or more they always throw in some freebie donut holes sitting there to fill up your box to the brim. Their dozen donuts is only $6.50 so it's a great deal and they have a bigger variety dozen for $13.00 but I got two from the bigger variety in my dozen and it was still charged only $6.50! Their glazed (original) is probably one of the best donuts I've had and most of my coworkers agreed (brought it for work). It's light, fluffy and just the right amount of glaze, not like krispy kreme where the entire donut is glazed to death and all you taste is sugar. Furthermore, THIS PLACE TAKES CREDIT!! Not that you normally need credit to buy a donut but this is such a rare occurrence that I found the need to point it out. Plus even greater when you get reimbursed asap for 4 dozen donuts on corporate card. read more

Maple Leaf doughnuts are the best doughnuts in the Bay Area. Just the right level of sugar in the dough, not as painfully sweet as Stans in Santa Clara. The size is generous, the cinnamon rolls are super-sized and very special because the cinnamon actually dominates the flavor. Perfect. The croissants are delicious, filled or not. Service is fast and friendly and this store sells out of many selections by late morning. I am holding back the 5th star because the place itself is not particularly lovely. It's very utilitarian. I love this place. I've been going for almost 2 years. Great iced coffee and their veggie sandwich is the BEST . Great selection of donuts too. They have boba, snacks, fruit, sandwiches. Donut get me wrong with Maple Leaf! I went there around 8 a.m., and there were already people ordering their morning indulgence. They open 4:30 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. daily. Most of the donuts are less than a dollar(about$.80/ea.). They also have gigantic croissants and apple fritters, only $1.50 or $1.40/ea. Me and a few like myself have a sick and twisted desire to share with the world our obscene and perverted lust for food. Enter Maple Leaf Donuts. Hands down, the most fresh and flavorful donuts in the area. (And yes, I have shopped around because I am a food addict. Don't judge.) You have to come early or else they may be sold out of your favorites by 10am. They are affordable and friendly. The line is regularly out the door but they seem to move it along quickly. If you are ever driving on Saratoga in the Westgate area(in the morning) I highly recommend checking it out. Prepare for mouthwatering decadence. read more

It looks pretty old school in here. the booths are yellow plastic, the pegs listing the prices are quite faded. We went here in the afternoon, and there was no one else in the shop except us. I could smell the fried goodness from several doors down, mingling with the raunchy smell of stale and cigs coming from the smokers outside the bar a few doors past this shop. The selection is limited, but they still have the old standbys. I got a glazed old fashioned, my bf a chocolate frosted bar donut. the only filled kinds they had were the round glazed kind, filled with a cherry-type of goop. The donut holes didn't look frosted, they looked a little dry, but they were really good, very light and fluffy. same with my old fashioned, it didn't look moist, but it was delicious. and I say that as someone who doesn't particularly like donuts. my bf has started me on this unhealthy habit as of late. jerk. Usually when you eat a donut you get that oily after taste, at Maple Leaf, you don't, you get a nice fluffy, chewy donut that taste great. Its a cute mom and pop shop but the chinese lady who was working at the counter was kind of rude. Her facial expression was like "what the hell do you what" look so I was turned off by her approach. Maybe it was because she had a chinese accent and couldn't speak english that well but come on, give me some good service here! I don't care if you are a fob but there are things called manners. The customers who were sitting at the tables were even nicer than her. Anyway, the donut wasn't that bad. It is really moist and soft but its super sweet. I like my donuts sweet but not that sweet. Great little mom & pop donut shop. Linda & Lee are a sweet, friendly couple who own this shop. After a couple visits, they'll remember who you are, and what you like to order. (Let's see if you get that @ Krispy Kreme). The donuts here are much much much much better than the fancy shop (i.e. more expensive) a few miles down the street near Prospect Rd. Great raised & cake donuts, maple bars, cinnamon twists/rolls, crullers, etc. You can find french style croissants, and muffins as well, and a hot Ham & Cheese "croissant" if you want something more satisfying. Only thing to avoid are the apple fritters. A bit too sweet, and a bit too greasy for my taste. You'll find a very interesting mix of regulars who frequent here. The UPS guy in his incredibly comfy looking shoes, the frizzy haired lady in sweats who only gets coffee, the morning retiree crew that sits in the back, the painters and contractors who always grab their coffee & donuts to go, the jogger (rain or shine) who stops by after her morning run. BUT, something changed at Rose. I suspect they make their donuts an entire day before because they now they always taste stale.
