    Food not cooked
    Arootin M.

Had a birthday and called for food, ordered lula and ribs and chicken. Food arrived and was not cooked at all. When called to see if they would take care of it i was turned down. Nobody wanted to help and they did not take care of the situation. Birthday was ruined because of them.

Super good market. You know a neighborhood market is superb by the dedication of its clientele. And here there are lines. The 20 or so parking spots are easily fought for and coveted so park on the street if you can. The marinated proteins are superb. Service is very good. Yes people write about the "gruff" behavior of the employees but I reckon, it's like this in many 'non-Californian' markets so we owe it to the business to adjust. I get the sense that if you dish out rude here or you expect a Stepford smile you'll be surely disappointed. Ive never had a problem here. I ask for what I need politely. We are after all, one race, multiple genius cultures coexisting and foods from all over the world available right here in Los Angeles. In return you get stellar products you can't get at Ralph's, Whole Paycheck or Vons. They have a FULL European meat/charcuterie counter, a small produce section and a small yet genius Armenian bakery. Basically it's a Euro neighborhood market with beaucoup Armenian breads & food preparations ready for the barbie! It's awesome food shopping in this tiny Los Angeles find. What's there but to love? . End of Yelp!

    Meat from Maple

Just left Maple Market and I don't think I'll ever go back. This place was recommended for their butcher meats so I came here today to pick some up for our Cinco De Mayo gathering tonight. Picture this, I'm the only person actually shopping in the store at the moment, there are some people are checking out but the place wasn't overly busy or anything. Not only was I standing at the meat counter for 8+ minutes (I started keeping track after being ignored the first couple of minutes), but they then chose to help an Armenian lady before me who entered the store and stood at the counter after me. Even after they helped that lady, I WAS STILL STANDING THERE WITH NO HELP! I finally had to flag a guy coming from the back to take my order; I was half tempted to leave at that point. Finally got my meat order placed and one of them was wrong; he corrected it, fine, whatever. I make my way over to the checkout, which is terribly laid out and confusing btw, only to see 3 cashiers at the 2 checkout lanes chatting it up with the customers who have already paid. Line isn't moving as I'm standing there and guess who is flagged to checkout in front of me; the Armenian lady who was allowed to cut in front of me at the meat counter. I politely stepped in front of her as it was my turn and was clearly waiting to checkout before her. I'm checking out and no friendly hello or expressions from cashiers. Not even a thank you for shopping with us as I'm given my bag of meats. Nothing; the quietest transaction I've ever had; at least at self checkout I he machine acknowledges me. They seemed miserable... that or they don't like dealing with non-Armenian customers. Either way this place was sad and grim and I definitely won't go back. What's even sadder is that because of this negative experience, I decided to pay with cash as I was legitimately afraid this place would rip off my CC info (it's happened to me in other parts of Glendale, trust me). Ohh and the cherry on top; they don't seem to enforce or care about Covid restrictions. The patrons AND staff that I saw in the store were either unmasked or not wearing their masks properly. I saw a man come out of the back and go straight to the meat area where they handle food completely unmasked. TLDR; if you're not a local Glendale Armenian good luck getting any form help here and when you do, be prepared to be treated like you don't even matter.

Even their most basic items like the lavash and hummus are some of the best I've tasted.

Stopped by because I've been on an Armenian pastry trend at this time. I ended up grabbing some nazook, medium lahmajun, and also decided to give the beef khachapuri kabob a try as I haven't seen that offered at other spots I've tried. Service was quick and on point and the lahmajun did take about 10-15 minutes as they make them fresh. They have a pretty expansive patio where you can enjoy your goodies and hang out. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as it is mostly street parking, but I managed to snag a spot a few blocks away. As for the food, the nazook is amazing and better than a few other bakeries I've tried in Glendale. The lahmajun was also amazing and very flavorful with a good amount of meat. And lastly, the beef khachapuri kabob was amazing! It had that nice smoky charcoal flavor in the meat and worked well with the surrounding pastry. Definitely will be back again and bringing friends to this Glendale gem!

Are you kidding me!? Seriously…read more Are. You. Kidding. Me!! I have driven by this place MANY times over. Usually passing through to get somewhere else. Well, I needed to meet up with a friend who recently moved into the area and he suggested this place because it was a new spot he and his lady started frequenting. So, when I got there I realized this place is the ENTIRE BLOCK!! It's MASSIVE!! (I apologize about no pics this time - but, I'm pretty sure this will be a regular spot for me!) When you walk in the place almost takes your breath away. WOW! The cases are clear and amazingly stocked. It's beautiful. Check out the menu for items but, I had four different things - 2 savory and two sweet - and I was super excited. The service was also super attentive. Very helpful. Parking is plentiful. The place is clean. Indoor outdoor seating. Dog-friendly. This is a place to frequent and support.

Always a pleasant experience at these bakeries. This Glendale bakery café was clean, bright, and beautifully organized with a large variety of pastries, cakes, and drinks on display. I tried the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake, Berries cake, Curry Croquette, and their signature iced Korean lattes. The pastries were soft and flavorful without being overly sweet, and the cakes looked just as good as they tasted. The curry croquette wasn't a favorite of mine. It was my first time trying and the spices didn't amaze my palette. I will have to try their garlic bread next time if I feel like getting something savory. Their sweets are always a hit for me! Overall, the staff was friendly and greeted customers warmly as they come in. Small parking lot at this location but still worth the wait. Good visit!

The stores are clean, the service is perfectly fine, and there's a wide selection of baked goods. That said, I find the pastries overpriced for what you get. Most of the items I've tried have been average at best, especially considering the premium prices. The pastel de nata was disappointing--I've had much better versions at local dim sum restaurants. The black coffee was also a letdown. It was so bitter that I needed to add milk to make it drinkable, and I'm someone who normally enjoys black coffee. Overall, it's a convenient option if you're nearby and there aren't any better bakeries around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I enjoyed their Chipotle chicken sandwich that came on very fluffy but sturdy bread and the chicken was prepared ever so well, with the avocado being a nice note to the new song my tastebuds have learned to sing. I don't often comment on how clean a space is, nor do I often praise work ethic in my reviews, but the women serving us today looked to be some of the hardest working folks I've ever met. They clearly take pride in their food and service and that's always worth pointing out. I am still a novice in regards to Armenian cuisine, but my next trip get here I would like to try their wrap made with lavash, it soundeds quite tasty! Cheers!
