We stopped by Maple Street Cafe this week for a late lunch/early dinner. First time at Maple Street Cafe and we were "blown away" at how delicious our meal was! We each had the Veal Piccata which came with generous servings of mixed summer veggies and yummy buttered small potatoes. The veal was tender, cooked to perfection and smothered in delicious lemon/caper/ butter sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly and did a lovely job of answering our questions and being appropriately attentive. The cafe is clean, bright and inviting. Compliments to the chef, owner & staff. And our meal was very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. Can't believe we've lived here for 20 years and have never tried this lovely cafe! We can't wait to return! . read more

A great and underestimated neighborhood cafe. The food is just fancy enough to feel like a treat and just approachable enough to have on a random Tuesday. It's small and quaint but the food packs big flavor. My favorites are the Steamed Muscles and Chicken Lemon Pasta (definitely a two meal order). Maple Street Cafe is perfect spot for a business lunch or a get together with a few friends. It's quaint, tastefully decorated and cozy. Everyone is greeted with a genuine hello when the arrive. I've always had impeccable service and delicious food. On my last visit I went with a Caesar salad topped with smoked salmon. The Caesar dressing was rich and creamy, and the salmon was thinly sliced, fresh and chilled. My husband went with a grilled chicken salad that was equally tasty. I usually opt for a salad here, but have had some of the pastas in the past. They've all been good choices. This is a nice quiet spot in such a cool part of town. Love it. read more

We had a lovely lunch there...I had red beans and rice (it was a Monday, after all), my husband had ceased at salad with fried oysters. The red beans were seasoned and cooked to perfection. My husband's salad was fresh and good, he said the oysters we're perfectly cooked. One thing that kind of threw us was that on the menu more than wise it had "imported shrimp." Imported from where? With New Orleans being so close to the Gulf Coast why in the world would you import shrimp? I'd rather eat fresh golf shrimp any day. read more

I tried this place via the Diner Dash app. FYI: Diner Dash is great. Compared to UberEATS and Waitr, this one is the best in my opinion. The food is always hot and delivered fast. Anyway, I ordered the Angel Hair & Three Wild Mushroom pasta and my friend ordered the Eggplant & Shrimp soup. The pasta was pretty good. I am a mushroom fanatic, and they put a good heaping of mushrooms in it. The pasta, itself, was nicely cooked. The sauce had a distinct taste--I could definitely taste either mushroom "juice" or as if the mushrooms had been really cooked into it. The pasta did have a weird aftertaste after each bite, but that could have been the generous amount of different mushrooms in it. As for the soup, my friend said it was "okay." It appears to be a tomato-based soup. There was only one shrimp in it. I did not see much eggplant, but I guess that is sufficient for a $6 soup. Overall, the food was a 7/10. read more

This restaurant was a great find with great food & service! My friends and I stopped in, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable menu prices. We were served freshly baked bread with a seasoned butter, and when we asked for more, our waitress gladly complied. I originally was going to order the penne sui sui, but our waitress, Ashley, recommended I get the chicken Alfredo instead. It's so rare to find a server who recommends something they genuinely like, rather than just the most expensive option. Ashley was right because the dish was delicious! Two large pieces of chicken with a good amount of pasta. I would definitely love to come back and try more menu options, especially because the service was so great! read more

If I could give this cafe 100 I would! Hands down the best meal we had on our trip to NOLA! We stumbled across this cafe while headed to the Maple Leaf Bar to see George Porter Jr. We saw it had pretty good reviews so we just gave it a go. You guys. It. Was. Phenomenal. The cutest little home turned cafe style Italian restaurant with the sweetest servers and atmosphere. I must have drank ten glasses of water at dinner (we walked a lot on this trip) and I could barely get my last sip down before our waitress was ready with a refill, talk about quick and attentive service! They even gave us local advice on other places to try in the area. So sweet! The food - I just don't even know how to describe how much amazing flavor our dishes had!!! I ordered the Chicken Lemon with Fettuccine Alfredo, and I will be dreaming about this meal for the rest of my days! I love a good pasta dish and this one was next level!! My sister had the Pork Chop topped with a honey ginger demi-glaze and she literally swooned after the first bite. And let me tell you, she ate pork chops at nearly every dinner we had on this trip (and at home) and she kept comparing each meal after this - to the maple street pork chop. Before Covid-19 we would have dinner at Maple Street Cafe several times a year. Always consistently good with friendly and efficient service. Since Covid - we have done pick up and delivery. Saturday night for the first time, instead of our regular order for two, close friends came over for dinner. Still socially distant, we had drinks and ordered delivery directly from the restaurant. Dinner came in about 45 minutes. 2 Lemon Chicken with Pasta , 2 redfish with crabmeat, veges and roasted potatoes. And their delicious bread and butter. The breaded and sautéed chicken was tender and delicious. Pasta perfect. The fish was tasty, fresh vegetables and the potatoes perfectly cooked. And everything hot! A+. Congratulations to Maple Street Cafe for serving our community so well. We will dine in when we are ready to dine in public. Not yet but until then, delivery or pick up will be just fine. read more

The freezer burned chicken that came with it didn't help either. Not to cause a scene with my friend, I tried to pour the grease onto a separate plate and asked for marinara sauce. We probably have gone through the whole menu and not one time have we been disappointed. You have to get the Greek salad, it's must every time we order takeout. In town for the evening only and a meeting at Tulane University. Maple Street was in the area and had high marks on Yelp! - so gave it a whirl. Really nice spot! Cozy feel to the place with seating in the front - a limited front outdoor area, and some tables in the back which, I assume, would accommodate some small groups. Our server - Missy - did a great job during the meal. I was here with a friend and we didn't have a LOT of time, so we tried to make the most of it. We had a drink from bar to start out - Boulevardier - which was a new one for them but, after I showed them the recipe - they ended up making a pretty decent one - not bad for a first try! As an appetizer, we ordered the "Oysters Almandine" - and they were DELICIOUS. Perfectly fried, crispy, not oily, served at just the right temperature. The almandine sauce was wonderful and we were soaking up all the excess with french bread when the oysters ran out. For my entree I ordered the Angel Hair Pasta with three mushrooms and had them add some blackened Salmon to the mix - which they were happy to do. It was very nicely done and the winning aspect of it - for me - was the broth (instead of a thick sauce) in which the noodles rested. It was terrific and really "made" the dish, for me. My friend had the Chicken Robah - which I tasted. The chicken breast had a kind of crust but I don't think it was deep fried. It was tender and moist - and the Marsala sauce on that was delightful. If I make it back here - I will be ordering that, I'm pretty sure. We both commented that the sauces - the Almandine, the Marsala, and the broth for the pasta dish were exceptional and would be great to order extra - on the side - as a dipping sauce selection for bread! Wow! This place was incredible! My brother, mom and I found this place after a long day of walking and sunburns! We could not have found a better place to have dinner. We shared the stuffed shrimp which was DELICIOUS and so so flavorful, I had half of the greek salad which was actually the best greek salad I have ever had (please send me the salad dressing recipe ASAP), and my mom and I split the angel hair ziad. The ziad was even split in the kitchen! everything was AMAZING!!! 10000/10! I think our server's name was Nora, but I am not sure. She was incredible! I want to go back already :) read more

Approx 1.5 weeks ago we went here for a rush lunch. The stuffed shrimp was NOT what we thought but it wasn't bad. The stuffed shrimp was actually a flaky pastry shaped like an egg roll with shrimp stuffed in it oppose to shrimp layered with a stuffing mix. It was actually really good! And the sauce it came with was tasty. The pasta dish was a special of the day that came topped with fried soft shell crab. Here is where they lost a star. The pasta dish was fresh but lacked flavor. Delicious!! Everything that we ate was good. I loved my soft shell crab dish. It was served over crawfish pasta. The crawfish pasta wasn't too rich. It was perfection. The oyster appetizer was my favorite. I wanted to lick the plate! My least favorite dish were the mussels because I didn't care for the sauce. The Veal Piccata was tasty. I would have rather had it served over pasta. I did appreciate the vegetables and potatoes that it was served with though. It's just my preference. We had baklava for dessert. Was also very willing to accommodate one in our group that is gluten free. The stuffed shrimp was so damn good!
