    Mood ring cocktail

The appetizers were AMAZING!! The entrees were okay. We got the avocado panzanella and the whipped feta and those were both to die for. For entree we got the basil spaghetti and the crawfish stuffed shells. Both were okay but not great. For drinks we got the crossing the line and the magazine margarita both were good. The mood ring drink was not. Too sweet. The vibes were great! Such a cute place! Would def recommend and go back!

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would but rounding up to 4 for the great ambiance and staff! The vibe here is niiice.. cozy, stylish, and perfect for a catch-up or date night. Staff was attentive and super friendly throughout. Happy hour deals? Solid 5/5 -- great value and options. The old fashioned was yummy. As for the food though: mixed feelings. The arancini didn't quite hit the mark for me -- not crispy enough & cold (2.5), and the cacio e pepe was a bit underwhelming compared to very good ones I have had (3). But the truffle bread was a standout--very tasty, wish there was more red pepper so it wasn't so sweet but yumm(4)! It was all just decent food, nothing special or mouthwatering... too bland. Overall, food lands around a ~3.5 to me. Might return for drinks and apps, especially during happy hour.. but not in a rush tbh. The appetizers are a must have. The crispy cauliflower and the whipped feta are some of the best appetizers I've had ever. The chicken Parmesan and the other pasta dish were good but a little disappointing. I would suggest going to the Bauer with a large group so you can do more mixing match with the appetizers and drinks. They also run a fun happy hour so go check them out and they have good seating inside the main Hall as well as a larger back patio seating with an additional bar. Our waitress was so kind and made sure we were having a good time, she gave us some good recommendations on things to eat and made an amazing gin sour.

Beautiful spot on magazine! Great place for celebrations and gatherings. Food came out quickly and was coursed out well. We ordered a few small plates and mains to share and it was the perfect amount. Service was attentive, appreciated them checking in on our table and also making sure we had utensils to share all our dishes with. Food was packed with flavor and was well balanced. Our faves were probably the avocado panzanella and the pasta bolognese. Had high hopes for the pesto pasta but felt some flavor was still lacking. Nonetheless food was great overall! Good drink menu too! Looking forward to our next visit.

Christmas cocktail, could have been a cuter glass

I have been here about 3 times and I am - sadly - never impressed with the food. I am impressed with the cocktails; those drinks are GOOD. The most recent time I dinned here was about 6 months ago during the holidays with all the Christmas decor up and had requested on the reservation to be seated near all the decor and the music. The hostess said there was no room over there but said they can still make Christmas cocktails for our group of 4. I was disappointed since I came all decked out in Christmas gear and was really looking for that ambience, but I settled for the festive cocktails. The cocktail I ordered was the Magazine Street Miracle - a tasty bourbon drink and it did in fact taste like the season. I enjoyed it a lot although I wished it came in a more Christmassy, fun glass. The apps we ordered was the pork belly and scallops. Now the waitress did warn us that the scallops were **VERY** small. And I really appreciated her being honest with us. Sure, enough when they came out --- WOW, it was ridiculously small. The presentation left a lot to be desired as well. But that pork belly was spot on - tasty. Then I ordered the green pest spaghetti - this did make up for the size of those 2 teeny tiny scallops, but I did not love the flavors. It was just ok for me. I think if I come back again, it will be just for a happy hour.

Service was great, but the food was a bit underwhelming overall. My husband had the skirt steak, which lacked flavor, and I ordered the Gulf shrimp with pepperoni oreganata. The shrimp were large, but the flavor and texture didn't quite work for me. That said, the tuna crudo was delicious and definitely the standout dish. I always feel a little bad being this honest, but hopefully this helps others decide what to order.

Best chicken Parm I've ever had. Basil spaghetti was more subtle than I wanted on the flavor, atmosphere is nice and the staff is great

I came for bar humbug. The bar was decorated so nice. It was super festive. The service was pretty good and the drinks were great. Everyone at the table enjoyed their drinks even the ones that rarely finish their drink. I had 2 appetizers. The truffle bread was ok. There was a sweetness to it that I didn't really care for. The lamb meatballs were really good.

Came to The Bower during a professional development conference. One of the well-known EHR companies hosted a HH for their customers. This was a nice way to be appreciated, not just for spending our hard earned money to ensure clients, business operations, and admin/logistics are handled accordingly, but also to simply recognize how hard mental health clinicians/providers work on a daily basis. I didn't get any pictures of the food that was served but there was a variety of finger foods. Charcuterie boards, hummus, and other dips, crackers, etc. We also indulged in cocktails/wine at the bar. The Bower is a beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great location for date night, happy hour with friends/family, and solo dinners. Highly recommend stopping by and I will return when I'm in NOLA!

I've never paid so much for a terrible drink with so much cinnamon that I literally could not drink (or else it would go in my nose) and for some mediocre cheese and 2 pieces of cauliflower that made me want to ask the chef for a replacement. I spent 30 for a drink and an appatizer (not including the unfortunate tip I had to give) and it might've been a worse investment than investing in $hawk-tuah coin

    Flourless tort.

Meh. I'm 50/50 here but rounding up bc execution was all good. Smaller menu. Smaller place. Great service. Disappointed on food but that might be me due to all the other heavy stuff we'd had in town and I wanted something lighter and salads and veggies. My husband ordered the cheese board and I was disappointed to see a ground liver pate and a few other meats that weren't mainstream... I think that should be clearly listed or the server should tell people since liver isn't usually on a cheese board. It said "assorted cheeses and meats". Lesson learned, we need to ask - but we all barely ate the meat for $35. It was a huge waste of money. They had multiple pasta dishes that seemed good - I was between the Cacio e Pepe or the Bolognese but chose the Cacio e Pepe bc I didn't want more red meat that night. It was good - but very greasy and oily and heavy. The star of the show was dessert - we went with the flourless chocolate torte cake and it was SOOO good. Rich and thick and decadent. I really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful restaurant in a nice building and service was good - I just didn't enjoy the meal and the menu didn't hit right for me. They do not serve coffee here.

But I was welcomed in to the bar with one open seat. The staff was very welcoming with a bit of sarcasm, which is probably something that I look forward to everywhere. I asked for recommendations, having looked at the menu and they handed me another special menu of the day stating obviously I hadn't read the whole thing yet. I started with the snapper appetizer and I have Tse with the coconut lime broth. It was absolutely delicious, followed by the crawfish capellini. I was surprised by the amount of crawfish in the dish and the chili flavor, which was absolutely delicious. I have been hearing about the hush puppies for a while so I had to try some, especially because my colleague raved about it at dinner the night before. Lastly, I had the baked drum which was delicious light and flaky. The flavors were incredible. I personally thought that the bread was a little overly grilled and chard, but overall the dishes still pretty good. I cannot say more about the dessert. It's absolutely one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. The sticky carrot cake toffee cake with cream cheese ice cream was just on the next level. I would try to come here if I was in the area every time.

We went on Mother's Day 2026, but were able to grab a reservation a couple of days before. There was a steady flow of patrons, but it wasn't packed. Since it's part of the Hilton hotel, it's pretty large and opens up to the hotel lobby and bar. We walked from our hotel, so I'm not sure about parking. We arrived a little early, but were immediately seated, which was nice, especially considering it was a holiday. I ordered a Prosecco to drink. I went with 2 other friends, so we decided to split a dozen charbroiled oysters. The oysters were delicious! I think I could've eaten 2 dozen by myself! For my entrée, I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Pasta with Creole sauce. The pasta was good, but not great. The shrimp were delicious, but the sauce was mediocre. My friend got a lobster cream sauce with her entree, and I put some on my pasta, and that was very good. The shrimp pasta was just shrimp, pasta, and the sauce. I'm curious how the Alfredo sauce would've been. I would return and try some other dishes, but will DEFINITELY get the charbroiled oysters if I come again.
