Super cool spot! Just stopped in for some drinks and the soju cocktails are very good and look neat. The interior is designed to look like you're on a street. Definitely recommend it if you like soju- there are flavors on the menu I've never seen elsewhere!

This restaurant is considered a good Korean restaurant in Toronto. They offer a variety of cocktails for customers to try, and their food tends to be on the spicier side. Unfortunately, it didn't quite suit my taste. Additionally, the prices are relatively high, so if you're just looking for a casual Korean meal, I wouldn't highly recommend it.

Let this be known that this place has the best kimchi pancake in Toronto. It was a big, savoury soft pancake with a crispy edge and a delicious sauce to dip in. Their ttbeokbokki was not bad but personally not worth the price and mostly consisted of sauce. Their beer as well wasn't the freshest but nor was it stale. Overall this place is on the higher end but it's more of a setting to drink with friends and share snacks. It's very dark inside with Christmas lights illuminating the ceiling which does allow it to feel casual but also creates a party atmosphere. They were blasting K-pop tunes throughout the evening however sometimes the songs were slower which didn't really match with the aesthetic. The servers however were super friendly, helpful, open and welcoming. One thing I thought was annoying is that they don't split bills. I only went with a friend nor was it busy as it was a rainy Tuesday at 8pm, with only one other couple in the bar. If it were busy and/or a large group I would've understood entirely however given the circumstances it just didn't make sense. This place was mid however I would come back for just the kimchi pancake (honestly I dream of it to this day) and to try their soju cocktails and get some makgeolli!

My friends and I came to Mapo Pocha after dinner to grab some drinks and hang out. The music was a mix of kpop and pop (someone on the aux that night seemed to like maroon 5 aha) which had us singing and dancing along, the decor was super fun, and the staff was attentive checking in every so often. What we ordered: - Cheese Bacon Kimchi Pancake - Oden Fishcake Soup - Lychee soju - Blueberry soju - Grapefruit soju My Favs: - The cheese bacon kimchi pancake was one of my favs with the kimchi cutting through all the cheese and bacon - The lychee soju cocktail was great and my friends still mention it even weeks after coming to Mapo Pocha Final Thoughts: Great place to grab a drink and some snacks with friends in a lively environment! We'll definitely be back during our next night out and I look forward to trying more of the menu.

You walk up a goldcolored hallway and 2 flights of stairs before reaching the restaurant. The host stand is farther inside.....which will make sense once you are physically in the space. The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.

The staff helped us through the menu and gave us recommendations, and was so kind and fun to chat with! I had gotten the chicken katsu and my friend the beef tartar bibimbap. Both came with amazing portions and we had food to spare. The katsu was perfectly crispy, and the house made sauce was perfectly seasoned and amazing! It also came with apples and salad on the side which was a perfect pallet cleanser. The bibimbap had a great variety of toppings and everything was seasoned well. When thoroughly mixed, everything bite had a bit of everything and it was delicious. On top of the food u get when you order, the meal also comes with 6 different sides. There was 3 different kimchi, braised potatoes and 2 others that I'm not sure what they are, but they were delicious. My favourite was the potatoes and kimchi! Overall this is an amazing place to bring those close to you for delicious korean food!

Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
