I'm down on vacation visiting family in Marathon and found this gem of a bagel spot! The bagels are baked to perfection and they have a huge selection of menu items that all look incredible. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel, and it was fantastic. It was perfectly toasted, great flavor, and super fresh. The staff was friendly and quick and the whole place has that cozy local feel. Definitely a must-try breakfast stop if you're in the area!

Incredible. I got pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I didn't know something so simple could be so flavorful. It was so flavorful I thought a sauce had been added. Bagel was super soft but with a nice doughy chew at the end of a bite. Their eggs are absolute perfection, they're just barely cooked all the way so the yolk inside is almost creamy like a hard boiled egg that's just short of done. My SO got a brisket one on jalapeno cheddar that was equally as awesome. They really are generous with the meat here so I would consider adding an extra egg and extra cheese.

We got here at the right time because we didn't have to wait long to order our get our breakfast. He loved his bagel with lox, and I loved my Mediterranean breakfast bowl. Service was great. It's high on the list of places to return to!!!

Really good prices!! i got a dozen bagels for only $15.99 i believe, but before i got the whole dozen i wanted to taste their lox bagel to see if it was worth the cash, boy it was good! when i went to order the dozen i pretty much got 1 or 2 of every flavor, as well as two of their specialty cream cheeses. cannot wait to live off of bagels for the next week lol. great bagel shop ran by a very caring family!

Made a quick stop here before going to the beach and it seemed like a really popular place! The cashier was really nice and the place was clean and well ran. I ordered a bacon, turkey, cheddar cheese, tomato, cream cheese on an everything bagel toasted. It was pretty good, a little pricey than other places I've been. It came with a side of chips as well. They had a lot of cream cheese flavors which would have been fun to try as well. My friend also tried their Bearclaw but said it wasn't very flakey overall but they had a lot of other baked goods that looked pretty good. Overall not a bad stop for a bagel for the beach since it's really close

When we arrived there was a line out the door ! That tells you something! We honestly didn't wait too long and the food was worth it ! This place was so good !!! You get enough food ! I got a buster belly on a bagel and man it was so amazing to where I had to write a review ! I'll be back when I come back to the keys ! Just a heads up not a lot of seats but the food is so delicious! We also got the belly buster on a garlic herb wrap and that was good too !!!

Stopped by for a late lunch/ brunch today. The are open early and close at 2. The place was buzzing throughout our time here. They seem to be a local hangout spot - Isaw the owner couple greet several people by name. The line was long but moved quickly. Ragz got the Portuguese burrito and really enjoyed it. It's a good size and pretty chock filled with eggs and chorizo. I got the 2 egg and cheese sandwich on an onion bagel ( they were out of everything bagels at around 1130 am). My bagel was okay - I'm very picky about bagels and thought this one wasn't chewy enough. The onions on my onion bagel were only on top of the bagel and I didn't taste it throughout the bagel either. The egg was tasty, the American cheese was honesty tasteless - bit of a bummer. We also shared the crumb cake. The cake part of it was really good - light and fluffy. The crumb topping wasn't great - too hard, a very thick layer and just hard to eat. All I tasted was sugar and more sugar. We ended up turning the cake upside down and eating just the sponge. Overall, the place was decent and a tad bit pricey ( we paid $24 for our 2 dishes and cake). I'd likely come again in a pinch, but I didn't feel it was anything to write home about.

Upon entering you can tell by the long line of locals that this place isn't going to disappoint. Waited a few min for my bagel and it was delicious! Only thing is they added avocado which I didn't ask for. I paid extra for it and it's not my fave in a bagel but it was very very good!

If you want a north east quality bagel while in Marathon, this is your place. My wife and I both had their Everything Bagel (one with cream cheese and the other eggs, sausage and cheese). This is one of the best meals in Marathon, nay, all of Florida. Get the Belly Buster with housemade maple glazed pork belly and a side of cream cheese; it doesn't get any better! My husband and I visited Marathon Bagel while on vacation. Needless to say, this may have very well been one of the best bagels that we've had. That's saying a lot since we're from northern NJ/NYC area where bagels are found around every corner. I asked for an everything bagel with the chouriço, egg with avocado as an add on. The bagel was toasted to perfection. Let's talk about the everything bagel; it often times can be overwhelming with all the spices but I must say this bagel was seasoned to pair perfectly with the saltiness if the chouriço. read more

Great food , but RUDE customer service. We walked in and was not greeted after we greeted. Never asked us anything while deciding what we wanted to order. With masks you know its difficult to understand and girl kept saying "WHAT" very rudely. My niece was asking about an ice coffee and she kept asking her what flavor and saying only once size available. Gave us our food with no words as if they were not happy that we ordered. We will not return again rudely service is not worth your food! read more

If your headed out fishing or just up for breakfast, A Must STOP. Best bagels south of Miami and maybe the best breakfast in the Keys. Try the pork belly instead of the bacon. Every kind of bagel made and they are Fresh to Death!! Order anything All Great!! read more

Wow. This was such a great find for breakfast in Marathon. We had breakfast here on two different days. Get anything with lox! We had a lox and egg sandwich and a garlic bagel with lox and cream cheese. If you like corned beef hash, get the egg and corned beef hash sandwich. The honey walnut cream cheese was SOO good too. Last but not least, vanilla iced coffee. Everything was delicious and they PLENTY of options. You won't be disappointed! read more

These bagels are crazy fresh and crazy tasty! Truly had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life here. All of the ingredients were fresh from avacado, spinach and meats. Places like this typically lack in the coffee quality but that was not true here. The coffee had great taste, so happy I stopped by. read more

Love Marathon Bagel! We were glad to have stumbled upon this spot and have been back many times. Our favorites are the pork belly sandwich and the turkey avocado. First time going in Marathon Bagel. During a typical morning rush. They had a full staff, but it still took almost 45 minutes for a couple plain bagels and one breakfast sandwich. The order was totally cold, and they gave us the wrong order (we didn't figure that last bit out until it was too late). The staff was leaving half-finished orders all over the back counter, growing cold. They were loudly joking with one another and laughing about how bad an order looked that came out from the kitchen. Having worked in the service industry myself for a long time, I can confidently say that this staff was directionless. The food might have been good if it was warm, on-time, and the correct order. Somebody has definitely pissed in the cornflakes of the server with Hello Kitty tattoos on her back - she clearly hates her job and the customers who pay good money for her average bagels. Best. Breakfast.sandwich. I have not eaten their much items or even cream cheese, but if their lunch and anything else is as good as their bagels and breakfast sandwiches, then I give up. You would eat here everyday if I could....but I live in Tennessee. #4 with rolled pork............just take my money. You haven't had a good bagel until you know it, and this place is New York style bagel with the added compliments. If I'm in marathon or within the drive for a week, I'm eating here 5 out of 7 days, with the two extra to run off that calories read more

There is never a long wait and there are SO many cream cheese options. I love the various special bagels of the day. My favorite is the cranberry bagel with pistachio cream cheese, but I've gotten the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bagel with Oreo cream cheese which was amazing, and multiple bagel sandwiches, also amazing. The owners are always around and helping out with lines, and everyone is super friendly! read more

We needed lunch after getting our nails done and stopped. Although their was a huge line it went quickly. Expecting to wait a long time, our meal came quickly (we took it to go) and was delicious! We got a a BLT, bagel, and sandwiches! When they came they were hot and delicious. Only complaint is it was a little crowded when waiting to pick up our meal. This is an updated review after I made a mistake on my order and they fixed it like rock stars!! I came to @marathonbagelco a little over a week ago and was so impressed by the generous portions, great flavor, and wonderful customer service at this bagel place. The young lady that took my order was so friendly and so was her sister who also works there. The owner was there doing some management work at one of the tables. All of them were so inviting and helpful. I ordered two everything bagels toasted with cream cheese, tomato and avocado on mine and then same for my hubby but no tomato. They were perfectly toasted and so generous with the avocado and tomato. We devoured them! I was on my way down to Key West. Both my husband and I were craving these bagels while we were down in Key West so I had to stop again on my way back through Marathon. And on my way back through it got even better! I made a mistake on my order and ordered tomato instead of avocado on my husband's bagel. Oops. My hubby doesn't like tomato. So I went back in and was gonna just pull off the tomato and ask for avocado. But she made my husband a whole new bagel the way he wanted it!!! I was ready to pay the extra too because avocado is more than tomato. But the awesome owner said don't worry about it. I apologized for my mistake but she said don't apologize. Wow! What amazing customer service. This kind of customer service is hard to find but they've got it here. The owner was also amazing at praising the girls that works here with her. I would have loved to work here when I was there age. This is a MUST stop for breakfast or lunch! I'll be back again! Also I had a cappuccino which was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Like the bread, everything is baked in-house, and you can taste the care that goes into every bite. The coffee was equally impressive; rich, smooth, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with breakfast and kept me coming back for more. What really sets LJ's Café apart, though, is the atmosphere. There's a separate appetizer version that doesn't include fries, and that's what I was given by mistake. When I called, the employee remembered my order and said she thought it was the appetizer. Then she said the simplest words many places forget: "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." She immediately offered options -- refund the fries or drop off a fresh order. I chose the fries. Within minutes, they delivered a full container of hot, delicious fries to my door -- even though I had chosen carryout. The driver apologized again and even included cookies. This is how you make it right for a customer. The food is really good, and the management is even better. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

I freaking love this place so much. I go there so often since I work at the dollar tree next door. The staff there basically knows me by heart at this point. They are so sweet. They work so hard to make everyone's food perfect. Never underestimate them especially on a busy day. They work so fast it's amazing. For any new people in Florida definitely try this bagel shop out. They are flexible with their food items. If you got any allergies they are flexible. Just give them a heads up and they can help you out. I'm originally from Long Island New York and moved down here back in 2020. Their bagels remind me of New York. I'm never going to stop going there unless they close down. Then I would be very upset. They are the one of the only reasons I get up in the morning to eat a proper breakfast. If the owner is reading this thank you for having the best bagel shop in Florida. Your food is delicious. I don't usually leave reviews, but this place earned it -- and not in a good way. The bagels here are so bland, dry, and forgettable that I genuinely wish I had gone to McDonald's instead. Yes, McDonald's. Their bagel sandwiches are miles better than whatever this place is trying to pass off as "fresh." At least they're warm, consistent, and come without the unnecessary attitude. Speaking of which -- the woman at the counter clearly hates her job, or maybe just people in general. I placed a basic, polite order and she shot back with a sarcastic "Really original," like I was personally inconveniencing her by daring to order food. If this is how you treat paying customers, I'm shocked you're still in business. This place has nothing going for it -- not the food, not the service, not the atmosphere. If you're craving a bagel, skip the trip and hit a drive-thru. You'll save time, money, and a hit to your dignity. read more

Recently stopped here for breakfast around 9AM. I've been several times with varying results, though that will probably be my last. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. When I received my order the bagel had clearly been completed long before the rest of the food (Luke warm and going cold) and the bacon was burnt to the point of nearly being inedible. Not to mention I was literally shoved out of the way while in line by who I believe to be the owner (bald guy with facial hair I almost always see there) without as so much as a word in my direction. Dunkin Donuts the next day was better... Not the first poor quality meal from there, not really worth the chance of an extremely sub par breakfast sandwich, to me. read more

Marathon Bagel is a fantastic shop that never disappoints! They offer an excellent selection of bagels with plenty of options for cream cheese and specialty sandwiches. My personal favorite is the strawberry cream cheese -- it's delicious! I love having it toasted with just a bit of butter and a touch of cream cheese since I prefer not to overload it. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't cut the bagels, so if you like your bagels cut in half, be sure to request that when you order. Overall, this place is a must-visit for any bagel lover. It was surprisingly difficult finding places for breakfast in Marathon. We visited during the week before Thanksgiving in order to have fewer crowds... what we found were fewer breakfast spots. Thank goodness for Marathon Bagel! Fresh, delicious bagels with a good chew to them and one of the best crumb cakes I've ever had. The brown sugar topping was at least 1" thick on top of a moist, buttery cake. Reminded me of Hostess Crumb Cakes but so much better! Decently priced, clean and terrific portion sizes. read more

From the amount of people at the store we thought this would be great. First the lady at the register had no idea what they had available we had to change the order about 4 times. Everything was wrong with the order the bagel wasn't toasted the bagel was the wrong flavor and the side was not the side we ordered. We also got a toast instead of a bagel!!! Great bagel selection . You can tell everything is made fresh daily . They have breakfast bowls for a low carb choice. I got the Greek bowl which is made with 3 eggs, tomato onion spinach and feta cheese. My hubby had a Nova and cream cheese sandwich on a everything bagel with capers onion and tomato . Great prices .
