Couldn't get near the Irish Pub Jack Dolans so decided on Italian fare next door at Monte's Pizzeria. After being warmly welcomed and acknowledged by the staff. The staff was very helpful when selecting various pizza options and I was not disappointed. I asked for received my cheese slices crispy ( which was the first time I ever received what I asked for in other pizzerias I frequent). My friend had the buffalo chicken slice which was overflowing with chucks of flavorful and spicy chicken pieces. Pizza was very good and reasonably priced with friendly and courteous staff. I think this night be my new favorite pizza shop around town. This might be the only pizza shop that I actually eat the crust and let's not talk about the garlic knots. They are perfect. Hands down best pizzeria around. Incredible amount of specialty slices to choose from. They have everything you could ever want in a pizzeria but it's really so much more than a pizzeria. Their dinners are restaurant quality especially the chicken parm which is way too much for one person to eat so 1 order can easily be split for 2. We order here at work for the first time. The person who took our order was very friendly. Delivery was quick and they organized our orders by name which was awesome. I tried the honey mustard chicken wrap and it was really good. The other girls tried salads, wraps and everyone enjoyed it. Average Long Island pizza, it is very convenient because it offers delivery. I do enjoy the food but am giving 3 stars because it is average for Long Island pizzeria. If this place was out of state it would be a 5 star. The delivery is always quick and the owners are very nice. The pizza is good for a quick delivery. Personally, I prefer their wraps over their pizza. They have quite a variety of wraps that are good and always fresh. So we ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza for delivery and we received an Oops Only Ranch with a bunch of kraft singles melted on top. Not to exaggerate, but this is offensive to the cuisine of several cultures and is an embarrassment to pizza in general. Idk if the cheese is being used to summon a spiritual Avatar of Guy Fieri but it looks terrible and tastes as bad as it looks. The worst part is the reservoirs of oil that can be found in each slice. I hope you like the flavor of a mouthful of olive oil because that's what you will be gargling with two bites in. There is just WAY to much ranch, and the crust is too thin so everything slides off when you tempt the devil and actually grab a slice of this monstrosity. We also ordered a regular pizza which tasted alright. The one star I have to include in this review is dedicated to that beacon of hope which is our regular pizza, which unfortunately can't feed everyone in our group. Lived in Smithtown for over 30 yrs and Montes has been there very long. Forgot why we don't go there, now after a recent visit - remembered why... This is NY. Home of the best pizza's in the nation- there is a pizzeria on almost every road. This place is the home of the lilliputian pie! Years ago places offered a "medium" 16" pie - this places large pie is the "medium" everywhere else and charges full price! It is marginal at best, more like what we would find close to high schools because kids will eat it and it's a captive consumer. I have no idea why they are still around with the competition. Their wings are really really good though but also high priced. But in Smithtown, the locals are pretty much disconnected with what is good and just think things that cost a lot are good (should see all the Range Rovers and Teslas)! read more

My wife and I decided to give Monte's a try today. We both had a regular slice in addition to a deep dish slice for me and a white slice for my wife. We both enjoyed the deep dish and white slices. They were very tasty and the crust was done just right. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the regular slices. Both were very much overdone. The bottom of the slices were pretty much burnt. Both slices were barely eaten. The place is small, but it has adequate seating for about six groups of people. It's a few stores down from Ralph's Ices so that's a plus. read more

Was pretty pleased with the size of the slices but the crust was too soft/pale in color and it lacked flavor.

Ordered out and had the mozzarella sticks, chicken panini and chicken pasta dish. Forget exactly what it was but I did not like it. I had a feeling it was going to be bad just by the way it looked. The only thing I liked was the mozzarella sticks but they weren't shaped like sticks, they were more like cutlets. But I guess that's the least of their problems. A pizza place on Long Island......wow..normally, these types of places are a dime a dozen, with not too many variables separating them. First off, you cannot get by with making cheap tasteless pizza anymore. The competition is too fierce. You also have to offer something for everyone, and not be all about pizza, although there are some places that pull that off in the area. Montes is in a nondescript strip mall on the corner of Maple & Rte 111 in Smithtown. I had driven past it many times, always thinking that I needed to give it a try. So I have checked this place out twice in person, and now twice having food delivered, so i figured it was time for a review. The first two times I went to their establishment was right around lunch time on a Saturday. The place was dead, but the phone was ringing and there were a couple of call in orders and deliveries headed out the door. My son and I ordered a couple of slices of pizza and sat down. It was like having our own private pizza joint. The pizza is very good, not the best in the area, but certainly no where near the worst. They do a good job, and the main person I cared about being happy was my son, and he loved the pizza. My other dine in experience was the same. In terms of ordering for delivery, we went to a party where all the food was prepared and delivered by Montes. What a treat. The food was fantastic. Chicken dish, sausages & peppers, penne pasta w/ sauce, the salad, all done very well and delicious. Finally, I ordered & picked up a pizza pie that was hot, fresh, and tasted delicious. Great place and great prices! The pizza is solid and the entrees, salads and apps are consistently really good.

Spent almost $100 on 4 specialty pies and let me tell you what a waste of money that was. It was by far the worst pizza me or anyone I was with has ever eaten. Everything from the meats sauce cheese to crust tasted 2 days old. I would rather eat 7-11 pizza any day of the week. Frozen pizza is a 5 star meal compared to this pathetic disgrace they call pizza. read more

Montes pizza was my favorite pizza on Long Island and the staff is incredible, but then I saw this monstrosity of a slice. I can not believe someone would insult pizza like this. What monster would have possibly created this " so called pizza ". I was scared for my life when I saw it. Who on earth could take kraft singles american cheese and ruin a poor Innocent pizza this way. I will always go back to Montes because it was the pizza I grew up on, the sidewalk where I learned to ride my bicycle, the parking lot where I learned to drive my first car, next to the bar that I had my first beer, but I will have to go in with one eye open. I recently visited Monte's on the recommendation of an old friend who lives in the area. I have to say, the food was great! I ordered a meatball calzone and it was made fresh, to order, a real rare treat. The calzone itself was filled with tasty meatballs, mozzarella cheese and herbed ricotta cheese, it came with some marinara sauce which was fresh and tasted great. The calzone was a great choice as I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The restaurant itself is comfortable with booths (great for kids!), and they also have a wide array of pizza by the slice, salads, sandwiches and paninis. I had the chance to meet the owner who was very friendly and you could really tell that he really cares about the quality of his food. Overall, I would highly recommend Monte's! read more

I order delivery from here anywhere from 1 - 4 times a week. The staff are always really polite and competent, even when my orders are complicated. We order from here regularly, normally don't have an issue with the food. I enjoy the food actually. Now for the staff...I dont know what the issue is lately, but last few months either me or my husband go in and the counter help had the worst attitudes. Went in to get a few slices and 3 guys standing in back making food, 2 girls up front, I'm standing there waiting to be helped and not a word said.
