The Big Time Spark

Wood pizza was very good. Cooked perfectly. Very nice size pie. Toppings were very good. Service was good. Clean, comfortable, quiet atmosphere. On street parking only on Abbott and a side street. Didn't order them this visit but the wings smelled great at the table near by....

Arancini was under seasoned inside and crispy/chewy on the outside. Weird!

Service was great, restaurant was packed but the food wasn't really spectacular or anything I couldn't find at any other American or Italian restaurant in Buffalo. Again, it was packed so we'll chalk it up to just not my style. The biggest feedback I have is that everything was generally under seasoned.

I came here yesterday for lunch. Indoor dining is allowed again in Erie County and I wanted to catch up with a friend. I had a Michelob Ultra. They have many kinds of beer on tap and many kinds of wine. Unfortunately, they don't serve mixed drinks. I'm not sure if that's a new thing or if that's how they've always been. We came after their brunch time so we couldn't order brunch. We came before dinner time so we were told, except for the steak sandwich, that we couldn't order from the entree menu. That left us with soup and salads, appetizers, and brick oven pizzas. My friend and I split stuffed banana peppers and a Reuben pizza. The stuffed banana peppers were great. It came with more than enough mozzarella sauce to dip it in. There were only two peppers and two small garlic toast points. The Reuben pizza was fantastic. This review is five stars for the pizza alone. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It had a thin crispy crust with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on it. Order it!!! You'll love it!!! The service was okay. I came here about two months ago, the night before the last restaurant shutdown period. I treated two friends who helped me move. My one friend ordered the Reuben pizza. He loved it. My other friend ordered the chicken parmesan. She loved it. I had a dark beer, french onion soup and barbecue meatballs. Their barbecue meatballs were fantastic. They had a lot of flavoring and were so delicious. Their French onion soup is the best I've ever had. I was so glad that I ordered it. We had really great service. It was a young(er) server. She was enthusiastic, kind and efficient. I came here either last summer or the prior summer with a friend. We sat on the patio and had drinks and shared food. I can't recall what we had. The service was great though. I came here during lunch about 2/3 years ago. I met up with some former coworkers. There were 10 of us. They had us in a small side room for our bookclub meeting. I had a Guinness, the French onion soup and a Reuben sandwich. The soup was fantastic and the sandwich was great. I can't recall if the sandwich came with fries or chips but I really enjoyed it. We had a great server too. If you're in the mood for great takeout or a nice sit down experience, come check out this South Buffalo staple. You definitely won't regret it!!!

The restaurant has a number of more regular pizzas on the menu, but also a couple with their own twist. I decided to give it a try and ordered the reuben pizza. What a surprise that was. A nice and crunchy crust topped with plenty of corned beef and sauerkraut. On top thousand island dressing. A really great pizza! The service at the restaurant was okay. Waitress was attentive and friendly.

I came here with the family for lunch, and it was perfect. Delicious pizzas, sandwiches, soups, and beer! We started with French onion soups, it wasn't show-stoppingly amazing, but it was good! We also got the chicken wing soup which was amazing. It wasn't too spicy, the chicken wasn't tough, it was absolutely perfect. The beer list they have is very impressive, some of the more niche/hard to find stuff is there which was a pleasant surprise! We decided to split a couple pizzas and the steak sandwich. The sandwich was a bit spicy with the peppers, but I love spice so I wasn't concerned. The PIZZA though! We got the bistro white, mushroom, and margherita pizzas. The white was my personal favorite. It had the crunchy arugula, crispy and salty prosciutto, and the crust was perfect. The mushroom tasted more like French onion pizza with some mushrooms on it, but the goat cheese went so well with it I found myself loving that one too. The margherita pizza wasn't amazing... I thought the sauce tasted more like tomato soup than pizza sauce but it was still okay. All in all, the service was fast, attentive, and friendly and the food was pretty amazing.

Ordered curbside pickup during the Covid 19 crisis on a Saturday evening, order took about a half hour to prepare, we were instructed to park in their side parking lot and wait for them to bring the food out. I ordered a Beef Sort Rib dinner over wide pasta with peas and a Margarita pizza, both were excellent. The order took a few minutes longer than expected as they had a steady flow of vehicles picking up orders. Happy they are open for orders, one of our favorites. Will certainly return.

Reuben Pizza

My friends in South Buffalo recommended Brick Oven Bistro as their favorite casual lunch location without hesitation! I enjoyed every single bite of my meal. My family and I split three pizzas: Margherita Pizza with prosciutto, Reuben Pizza (Sauerkraut, corned beef, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island Dressing), and The Mushroom Pizza with white sauce and goat cheese. Each pizza was delicious in its own way, but my favorite was the Reuben Pizza. I had never had Thousand Island Dressing on pizza and I really liked it! The corned beef was also perfectly flavored. In addition to the delicious toppings, all of the pizza crusts were cooked perfectly in the brick ovens. The buttery crust was thin and crispy, but not burnt. I will absolutely be returning to Brick Oven Bistro the next time I am in South Buffalo. It's a great place to go with your family or with a group of friends for food and craft beer! If you're not in the mood for tasty pizza, they also have sandwiches, pasta, Italian dishes and stir fry.

Well based on other reviews, get ready for unpopular opinions and controversial reviews lolol. Take out review only here. Based on pics and reviews, it's one of those places that looks good, sounds good, probably is good.. but, for what we paid (avg. $14 for a 10" pizza) it was very underwhelming. I've had plenty of brick oven style pizza in my day. We had the pepperoni and margarita pizzas and they look great to the eye, but the crust was not that desirable buttery crispy type, kind of dry, undercooked, and cardboard-ish.. and on a personal note, red sauce had sizable onions through out.. hard no go for me, not into sauce with chunks of tomato or onions in it, keep it smooth please. Again, probably going for their own thing here, with plenty of people liking that sort of thing. Don't get freaked out here, this is prob a one-off review.

A new location and a new look. Off The Wall Sandwich is a sparkling clean and colorful restaurant…read more With vibrant wall art, and striking lighting, the interior has an energetic vibe. This is a busy spot for classic American favorites: burgers, sandwiches and wings. From my previous experience, I knew it's worth checking the menu beforehand. For someone who is trying to make healthier choices, but not salad, this might be a good idea. I remember the last time I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Melt. This time, to avoid beef, bacon, or fried chicken, I decided to substitute a burger with grilled chicken breast for an additional $1. The Frenchie was my choice. I asked for the included Bison dip on the side and added Grilled Cremini Mushrooms for another $1. I simply couldn't find any ready-made combinations that suited my taste. All the burgers, melts and sandwiches come with your choice of fries or tater tots. We waited longer than expected for our food. The restaurant started filling up after we arrived. There were a lot of takeout orders while the dinner rush was starting. They should have a parallel system in the kitchen to keep the dining room moving at its own pace. Anyway, my sandwich was good. The chicken was perfectly grilled. The mushrooms and onions were flavorful, and the provolone cheese was melted and delicious. It's good that I asked to have the Bison dip on the side. We enjoyed the mountain of fries and onion rings (we really liked the breading on the onion rings). The Mac and Cheese was basic, but classic and very tasty. Unfortunately, our feedback on the Steak Hoagie was not so good. It wasn't as expected - a juicy, Buffalo-style, meat and cheese sub. My partner said that too much spice rub made the sandwich salty and dry. It wasn't the experience of dripping, shaved steak covered with lots of melted cheese, grilled peppers and onions. There was none of it. It was dry, smallish and disappointing. Our server Kimora took good care of us. She was smiling, and made our stay very pleasant.

The food wasn't mind-blowing, but it was solid. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, it was good, even if it's not the top contender for the best. The tater tots were a highlight, and I loved the habanero dipping sauce the server picked out for me. Would I go out of my way for it? Probably not. If I'm nearby, I'd absolutely stop in again to try something else on the menu, which has some great looking options.

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

A dear friend drove to Buffalo from NYC to volunteer at an event and after a long day volunteering,…read morethey were looking for a hearty meal and some good drink. Seeing as I'm a Yelp-er, they wanted me to find a spot I hadn't been to yet, even though I had eaten dinner already on my own. I had The Ridge West Seneca saved in my "Places to Try" collection so I said let's go. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and grab a meal here and try the food for myself! We arrive just before 8pm on a Saturday night to a large gravel parking lot that was pretty busy, but we still found a spot pretty easily. We walked in and the hostess was able to seat the two of us at a booth right away! Inside it was very spacious with plenty of TVs going, a bar on one side, music playing overhead. Indoor noise was elevated (it's a restaurant that has a bar, it's going to not be quiet haha) but the two of us could carry on a conversation fairly normally. Our waitress came over immediately to let us know she'd be a few minutes as there were a few other tables she was handling. Fine by us as that allowed my buddy ample time to look over the menu and figure out what he wanted. I saw the St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail specials menu so I knew what I was ordering. Our waitress though - Absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, had great personality, and was really accommodating in splitting the check (I took care of all our drinks, my friend took care of his dinner). Our waitress did a great job checking in on us at the perfect time, we never felt pressured, rushed. I didn't order any food but my friend ordered their Steakhouse Strip off the "Large Plates" section of the menu, and boy oh boy, did that look amazing! The 12-ounce strip was cooked to a picture-perfect medium-rare with plenty of tobacco onions on top and around the plate, and served over a generous bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, served with a small cup of their A1 aioli. After seeing that, I certainly want to come back and order food. My friend really enjoyed their meal, the plate was clean! As for me, I ordered two St. Patrick's Day -themed cocktails: "Sham Rocked Shake" and "Irish Good Bye". The "Sham Rocked Shake" was vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, cream, and chocolate syrup and curls - This was creamy, delicious, not overly minty. The "Irish Good Bye" was Three Chord bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice with a lime wedge - There was so much flavor in this cocktail, the lemon juice added a pleasant fruity 'punch'. Looking at the prices for these cocktails, I felt they were in-line with most other places and they were made well so no complaints from me. The Ridge West Seneca really surprised me! I've driven past it a few times and wondered how good it was. From our friendly waitress and service, the delicious cocktails, to the fantastic-looking food, I am impressed. I'm looking forward to coming back soon for another night of drinks and to try some food!

There were also 2 different pizza's a burger, waffles, stuffed French toast, vegetable frittata, chicken and waffles, sou & salads and so much more. Most of the food was good, a few said it was just ok. If I come back I would definitely sit in the bar area or outside. The parking lot is very large so I've always been able to find a space. They also had to put a deposit to hold the reservation , I'm only to assume it was because it was a holiday.

I called a little after 4:30pm on a Saturday and an automated system answered and provided multiple options, with "1" for calling in a pickup/delivery order. After pressing "1", it took a couple minutes for someone to answer and when they finally did, they told me they had to place me on hold, thankfully this was not even 10 seconds of waiting though. A gentleman then took my order - he was courteous and I appreciated him asking the cooks in the back a question I had about topping substitutions, which they were good with. After giving my phone number and they found my name and I placed my order, he said give them 30 minutes, which is pretty reasonable, standard. Imperial Pizza on Abbott Rd. does have a parking lot, but it's usually jam-packed so I usually park along the road on a side street close-by. The pickup process was simple and quick, but I will say, the gentlemen working behind the counter weren't too friendly, but they were quick. So for dinner, I ordered a Half (9", six slice) Stuffed Hot Pepper Pizza, but I substituted the Italian sausage for meatballs. The pizza was excellent and had a nice heft to it! Perfect cook on the dough with a nice crisp to the crust and plenty of (sweeter-side) red sauce and cheese. The stuffed hot peppers are diced up and placed generously on each slice, the cheese filling within the hot banana peppers is creamy and does a nice job to contrast the spice from the hot banana peppers. The meatballs were crumbled nicely across the pizza but I could've used a little more (but that's me though :) ). Doing the substitution for meatballs did not increase the price, which was very nice to see, and compared to the other pizza shops I frequently go to, the price was reasonable! Imperial Pizza truly is a Buffalo pizza "heavy hitter"! I don't come here too often but when I've worked up a healthy appetite, I know a pizza from Imperial Pizza will satisfy it.
