I stopped in here with my 2 kids (both under the age of 5) exhausted trying to find pizza nearby. I'm not from the area so I had no idea where anything was. The customer service was amazing and, as a New York transplant, their pizza took me back home. What I loved most though is they asked me if they could cut some of the slices of pizza into squares for my kids to eat. If you're a mom, you get how awesome this is. I normally spend the first 15 minutes of any meal cutting up food for my kids. Not only did they do this, they brought the pizza table side and served it for us. I was super hungry and wanted some pizza and I am at the beach on vacation and where I was this place was closest to me that sold pizza by the slice. When I walked in there were a few other people there about to eat. The restaurant looked clean. They had a 2 slice and drink special for 7+ dollars and you could add as many toppings as you would like for .50 extra per topping. I got mushrooms and onions added. They brought it out pretty fast and when I saw the pizza I was concerned as I could tell the onions were raw and not cooked at all and the mushrooms were from a can. If you look at the pictures I posted you can see what I'm talking about. The cheese pizza itself was old, you can see how done the cheese is on the sides and the color of the crust which by the way was hard as a rock! The toppings would all fall off as I would try and take a bite. I've worked in restaurants and pizza places before, and I've eaten pizza my whole life. This place might be the worst pizza experience of my life. I was so disappointed because I was so hungry and excited to try a place I'd never been to. As I was leaving I took the rest of the pizza and told the lady what was going on and her exact words to me was and I quote "I don't make the pizzas" she didn't say oh man I'm sorry or can I make you some new ones or something but instead wanted to tell me she wasn't the one that made the terrible pizza. I stopped in kind of in a hurry and ordered a cheesesteak. Had never got one here before and Tofino's has always been my go to. Bahar made me the cheesesteak and added marinara like I asked (called a pizza steak in Philly but most southerners have never heard of this). I was more than pleasantly surprised. Last night we had over an hour wait at a nearby hibachi grill so we decided to go for a walk. I was starving and needed something to hold me over. Being an avid helper we checked up on the food situation within walking distance and found nothing. A bit more research turned up Geno's with great review on google, but non existent on Yelp. A slice of pizza sounded like the perfect snack to hold me over so we stopped in. Being from NJ I'm used to pizza places having a large display of pizzas to pick from and get the slice you want reheated. I didn't even notice the option to buy a single slice on the menu (my fault, it was there) so we turned around and left. Not 20 feet away the owner pops out, "Hey! Where are you going? The pizzas great I guarantee it. Come on back I'll make your pie and if you don't like it don't pay me." Well now...who could turn that down! At the time he didn't realize I was just getting one slice and not a whole pie. He ended up giving me the slice for free and some great conversation while we waited. In return I set up this Yelp page for him. Long story short, Geno's is one of those local gems with good food and good people that you hear about, but never can seem to find anymore. If you're in the myrtle beach area I highly recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed. Before I sign off here I suspect you're all wondering about the pizza. I'm not sure I could stack it vs the best NJ/NY pizzas I have had, but it certainly tops anything I've found in 30 years coming to Myrtle. The crust was a bit thin for my liking, but many folks prefer a thinner crust pizza. What's important is it had good flavor and the gentle snap that a pizza crust should have. The sauce had just the right amount sweet and tang and there was plenty of cheese on board to complete the creation. The owner seasoned our slice and I could have done without the thyme in that seasoning, but otherwise it was a refreshing mix. All in all a great slice of pizza and I will definitely be ordering a few pies for the group later this week before we leave! read more

Ordered two large pizzas on the phone around 8:15pm, Said there was going to be a 45min wait which is not bad yet I'm sitting here writing this at 9:40pm with no pizza or call saying they will be late.
