One of my favorite spots to get drinks and dinner at. I come to margaritas regularly; every time, the service and food has been fantastic. I've never been disappointed. The hauppauge location is my favorite (I've also been to the Hicksville location). The bar is large and has a more upscale vibe, with blue backlights and nice lighting. Their margaritas are fantastic and strong, my favorite on Long Island. I highly recommend coming in anytime on Tuesday for the 2.95$ margarita special. It's so so worth it! It's a great place to get some drinks and guacamole with friends or come in for a family dinner. The portions are very large and the staff is so accommodating. If you want substitutions (I've often asked for things without meat), they are more than accommodating. My favorite starter is the queso fundido and some guac made right in front of you to your liking! I love the fish tacos, combo dishes, shrimp fajitas... every item I have tried has been delicious. Maybe it's just me but I didn't think there was anything special about the food here. The vibe is great but the food and the service fell flat. I did notice that the other wait staff was much better than our guy. Hands down the worst margarita I've ever had. My wife and I ordered the house margarita by mistake ( should've asked for premium tequila). I have no idea what they're using but it tasted like chemicals. We both had to return, I ordered a beer and she ordered wine. At least the owner/manager was very apologetic. Food was just average. read more

Disappointed with my most recent takeout order. Five parts of meals in aluminum containers were stacked in one bag. Apparently the weight was too much and the containers began to collapse while in my car , unbeknownst to me. Sauce leaked everywhere in the car. Further I ordered extra salsa and chips which weren't included (though I wasn't charged either), but it's a 15-20 minute drive each way for me. I can't be making a trip like that for a subpar experience. $60 for 2 fajitas and a 1 quesadilla meal - I expected better service. I called to complain, and got an apology, but it ended at that. UPDATE: The owner responded to us so we decided to give hem another try. Got a chicken fajita for takeout, asked for extra salsa on the side. Same problem happen again, and the "extra salsa" was actually a cup of the brown sauce that the chicken and onions are cooked in. That cup had a puncture in it. Everything leaked out, soaked the brown bag, and the bottom blew out when I pulled it out of the plastic bag. Unbelievable that this has happened twice. read more

They were so so so good, I am not a huge fan of margaritas unless they are made just so! and let me tell you..this place has that down pat! This location is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. From the outside it looks like a small take out restaurant but once you are inside, it's quite spacious. I really love the decor!! The dining room side is pink and there are a lot of "dia de muertes" type of decorations throughout the entire restaurant. I came on a Friday night and it was not crowded. I only came for drinks so I sat at the bar. They have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from. I ended trying both the guava margarita and the coconut margarita, both were good and strong. I enjoyed the coconut margarita more and ended up drinking 3 of those. My friend and I ordered some guacamole and nachos as snacks. The guacamole was not good in my opinion, it tasted bland. The nachos were decent. I would definitely come again and try their dinner or brunch menu. Oh and if it's your birthday and you have no shame, they will bring you a giant sombrero and have a mariachi band serenade you! read more

I ordered from here on Uber eats today. I got the burrito mojado. This was priced at $9.95. being on the low price point for a burrito nowadays I wasn't expecting all that and a bag of chips. Instead I was pleasantly surprised that this came with a side of tasty refried beans covered in awesome cheese and rice AND a more than generous bag of fresh fried chips and a good size cup of salsa. The burrito had actual skirt steak which was obviously marinated and was very tender and properly cooked. This place obviously cares about the quality of the product they're putting out. She didn't even tell us her name when greeting us, or about any specials ect... when we ordered margaritas she asked us what flavor and hesitated to even tell us what types they had, as if we were stupid for not automatically knowing. We were eating and drinking for about two hours when she came over to us telling us there is another table waiting for us to get up and we reached our two hour mark to dine. I used to be a server and i am completely dumbfounded that people go into this industry without an ounce of professionalism in their body. I understand covid 19 protocols HOWEVER, tell us when you greet us initially there is a two hour time limit on each table. If that was kindly said there wouldn't have been an issue. Every female waitress at this resturant has serious attitude issues.. every male server is phenomenal. Not sure what the problem is but i would suggest the manager talk to his waitstaff about how to act kind, efficient and professional in a job that requires it to survive. We were 5 people so I'm not sure why gratuity was included when it's usually 6+... but if i had the option i wouldn't have tipped her well because me and my friends were mind blown by the attitude of this girl. Went on a Friday night and it was very crowded, but got seated right away....The decor is nice and Maracchi band was playing, which I can do without....It is hard to carry on a conversation. I was so disappointed when I ordered a pick up order at Margaritas during the week night. My girlfriend and I wanted something quick so we ordered 3 tacos, 1 chicken and 2 pork as well as the #2 Tacos De La Calle Al Carbon. When I arrived 20 minutes later, they had my order ready to go but it was the wrong order. Instead of giving me the two meals I ordered, they gave me four meals- 1) Three Chicken Tacos Dinner, 2) Three Pork Taco Dinner, 3) Three Pork Taco Dinner, and 4) my Tacos de la Calle. I explained the issue and the front staff noted the employee who took my order does not speak English well. I am not sure why they have someone who doesn't speak English handling the phones. Now I had to wait 5-10 minutes for the front desk to go back in the kitchen, take out two of the dinners and try again. What they should have done is given me the 4 meals for the price of 2 in hopes of redeeming the mishap. Now onto the "food". After I finally got home with my now two meals, one of them (the taco order) was wrong. Instead of my order of one chicken and two pork, I received three chicken... none of which were tasteful at all. They were served in a hard shell corn tortilla that was breaking all over the place. The #2 Tacos De La Calle Al Carbon wasn't much better. The chicken was so dry I had to spit some of it and drown the rest of it in salsa. I would not order from here again. It is a shame because I have been to another Margaritas Cafe and it was great! Maybe they can't handle pick up orders or this Margaritas food is just that bad. Sitting here now as we wrap up our Mother's Day dinner. We were seated quickly, asked if we can have five minutes to review the menu as they had literally only given us two but were not asked if we were ready to order until almost 15 minutes later. We saw our server just hanging around looking at his phone until finally our order was placed. We received our order 25 minutes later....not once did the waiter come to us to ask us if we needed anything, a drink, if our food was ok, nada! He wasn't even waiting on many tables! I was so happy this location opened, I've been to the Wantaugh location and loved it. I ordered the vegetarian quesadilla, it seemed different then the other location but I didn't realize until after leaving that it was missing the salsa. The guacamole is okay, nothing to write home about. The next time I went I ordered the same meal since I had loved it previously. They brought out the completely wrong dish. By the time they brought the correct dish my siblings already finished their meals. I noticed once again it was missing the Salsa listed on the menu. I came here for a friend birthday on a Wednesday night. I walked in and was greeted promptly. I order a drink while I waited for my two friends. Vanessa the bartender informed me that it was happy hour until 7 pm. A selection of drinks were $4 for happy hour. The house margarita was included in the happy hour special. My friends arrived and they ordered drinks while we chatted. Vanessa was attentive to everyone at the bar. She was so pleasant and helpful. We proceeded to sit at a table for dinner. Boris our waiter was exceptional. We ordered Empanadas as an appetizer. The Empanadas were filled with chicken, shrimp and cheese with a special sauce on it. They were crispy and fresh. For dinner i had the shrimp enchiladas. They were filled with shrimp, tomatillo salsa and melted cheese with onion and cilantro. They were so tasty. The portion was generous. My two friends enjoyed their meals too. They sang happy birthday to my friend mariachi style. They put the sombrero hat on her. It was so much fun. The birthday dessert was flan. That was delicious. The dining area is decorated with beautiful paintings. The atmosphere was pleasant. The staff is excellent. It is a great place to come to relax and have good food and drinks. This is my favorite restaurant! The food is delicious. Genuine Spanish food so perfectly made. Even the kids menu was great - my daughter ordered chicken fingers, but it was actually perfectly made chicken cutlets (not clearly frozen, processed food). We've tried this place several times, and each time we love it more and more. Drinks are great. Food is delicious. The mariachi band that plays on the weekends was amazing. We went after my beloved Grandfathers memorial, and asked the mariachi band to play a song by 'Los Panchos' (not very well known unless you are a well versed authentic Spanish band). They immediately started singing our Grandfathers favorite song, and sang it better than the record. We all cried. Love this place and definitely recommend to all! read more

I've been here for dinner and had a nice experience. I was not crazy about their enchiladas, they were kind of bland. Their queso fundido and empanadas were really good though. Our waitress was really nice, but it took about 20 minutes to get our check. 20 minutes was only because my husband got up and asked the hostess for it bc we did not see our waitress. We decided to try them for happy hour. They advertise discount drinks and tapas. The house margarita was ok. It was $4. Then they had a menu of tapas items that were 5.95. We ordered two items. One being the empanadas which were gross. They were deep fried corn empanadas, 2, and they had a tiny bit of meat and potato in them. They were tiny and gross. They aren't the same empanadas that are on the main menu. The second appetizer was tiny too. My husband and I couldn't help but laugh when the food arrived. What a joke. I'll start off by saying that on any regular day Margaritas Cafe is my favorite restaurant and it's somewhere my friends and I frequently go to. Their food has never once been anything less than amazing, their salsa is delicious, and the drinks and great and strong! During COVID-19 I really was just missing this place, and decided to order food for take out. The process was simple and quick, had a table set up right by the door, and I was in an out. I got my usual, flautas, and it was as perfect and fresh as ever-exactly what I wanted and needed during this quarantine. It was a little more than usual, but not much, and I figured that it was simply due to the pandemic and business being slower than usual. I was fine with that and happy to help support my favorite restaurant during this time. Well, what I was NOT expecting was an entire bag of their tortilla chips and a container of their yummy salsa. I was so pleasantly surprised it really just made the whole thing better. I got the full Margaritas Cafe experience at my dining room table. I didn't order any margaritas to go, but I know you can. My friend did, a whole big bucket basically, and said said the quality was the same as it always is and they didn't skimp on the alcohol to save money. The owner of the restaurant is super nice and accommodating and can tell he really cares about his restaurant and it's patrons. If you're looking for a place to support and spend your money during quarantine, or any time for that matter, Margaritas Cafe is always a wonderful choice. Been wanting to try this place for months now and just never had the opportunity.....until a few days ago.....let's continue, shall we? So it was a weekday, and my wife needed to run to Meat Farms with the kids, and I said I'd join them and treat them to lunch afterwards. I had completely forgotten about Margarita's being at this location, because our fall back plan was to eat lunch at Applebees (YUCK). So as the family went in to Meat Farms, I went over to Margarita's (right next door) to look at the menu. My son is a picky eater and is in the "only chicken strips/nuggets" phase. Sadly, chicken fingers / nuggets were nowhere to be found on the menu. However, a gentleman that worked there walked up to me and asked if he could help me. I told him my desire to eat there, but that I had a picky child shopping next door and if they could make chicken fingers. The man said no problem, and that they breaded the chicken right there, and it wasn't Costco or Restaurant Depot nuggets / strips, but more on the homemade side. Bingo, sold. Once the family was done food shopping, we sat down at a decent table, two adults and two 8yr olds. At this time, we were the only ones in the dining room, since it was lunchtime on a weekday. The menu is vast and has tons of Mexican & hispanic food staples. My wife sticks to those staples and ordered tacos, my daughter is adventurous and ordered the ceviche, my son got his chicken tenders w/ fries, and I ordered the ropa vieja mexicana. The staff was very attentive, as they should be, since we were the only occupied table. The gentleman who helped me before ensured we were all taken care of as well. The food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. My son loved his homemade chicken tenders, my daughter, who loves ceviche, enjoyed the style of ceviche at this restaurant, which is the shrimp ceviche, my wife's tacos were very good with nice soft tortilla, and the mexican ropa vieja, which is shredded marinated beef was fantastic. Just the right amount of spice, with fried plantains on the side. The homemade hot sauce is also great, so ask for that on the side if you want an extra kick. All in all, I'm glad I came here and would love to come back when the place is a bit livelier and try something new on the menu, and of course, have drinks!! The place is also decorated beautifully.
