Went out of my way to go here for dinner on national taco day bc they had advertised all you can eat tacos for 17.95. No fine print anywhere that I had seen prior to heading to the restaurant. We arrive to sit and order and my mother in law asks if she can get veggies only in her tacos as she doesn't eat meat. Now, the waitress seemed very confused by this request and went to ask the manager. She came back and said she could do veggie tacos but if she ordered more they would have to charge us 17.95 two times. Same with me, even if I ordered 2 steak and 2 shrimp tacos initially and wanted more, they would charge a second charge of 17.95. Now, no where did it say you had to order all of your tacos at once. All you can eat tacos doesn't mean "order it all at once and that's it." The waitress again went to speak with the manager but we were so turned off and off put by the whole thing we just walked out. It's too bad bc normally this is a great restaurant. And it's not the money, it's the principal of the issue and the false advertising that's really wrong. read more

We loveeeeee Margarita's! The food is always delicious, and the staff is always friendly! Anna and Enrique are sooo friendly and we really enjoy them! I will say, we are not fond of the new management over the past few weeks. We used to see a manager named Juan. We haven't seen him in so long, we wonder if he is helping out at another Margarita's. Anywho, the service and food are what bring us back each week! We don't care for the new manager. He isn't personable and is always dictating the staff around. This can be upsetting at times. A Bunch of Liars - this review is not about the food, since we never got to eat. When we got there (party of 6), we were told a 30-minute wait, which turned into an hour, and then they still couldn't tell us how much longer. They knew, but obviously didn't want us to go somewhere else if we were told a longer wait. A little truthfulness wouldn't hurt. This was our first time there, and our last. But if you do go when the restaurant has entertainment, make sure you bring earplugs too. read more

I have given this place multiple chances and every time we have had a bad experience so it was time to finally write a review. My family and I go to the margaritas in east Meadow religiously. Love that place and when they opened up this location which is closer to home we have it a shot and we were very disappointed. For years we have never had a bad experience in the East meadow location. We were treated VERY rudely from the manager who is also the owner of this please. He failed to tell us, but found out by his staff later on. He lied to us when we asked him for his name. And after not understanding why we were upset he said "why are you making this so difficult". Not how an OWNER should of handled the situation. Another experience was when we called in an order my brother in law went to pick it up and they had messed up and forgot one of our meals, he waited 20 mins for it and when he got home, it ended up being the wrong meal. They messed up twice on a simple small order. And there are other experiences that I had here that I finally gave up on this location and rather take the longer drive to the east Meadow restaurant. We love the food here however if you expect to get your money's worth for service...look the other way and try another location, because this one has the worst customer service I have ever seen read more

Wish I could rate them a zero. I am absolutely disgusted with events that went on at the Wantagh location tonight. I pre ordered dinner last Friday for pick up Wednesday, May 5th at 6pm. It cost me $140 which I paid for in advance. I got to the restaurant at 5:50 to pick it up. we were treated like garbage by a BOUNCER standing outside the restaurant who wouldn't let anyone in. He was nasty with everyone and even physically put his hands on my husband to tell him to back up. We were not allowed in. After a half hour my husband went past the bouncer in search of the manager to complain. The food was not even cooked yet. There were orders everywhere and nobody cared to go outside to the LINE of people and help them pick up their order. it just sat there getting cold. We finally got our order at 7pm and NOTHING was what we ordered. We ordered a beef chimichanga, chicken quesadilla, steak fajita, guac and 2 sangrias (no ice). I got fried chicken and french fries, steak, chicken and a pork chop, a beef burrito, nachos, and 2 sangrias loaded with ice. This was the absolute worst experience and I have NEVER been treated so badly as a paying customer. I understand it was a very busy night but there were so many ways to make this work. You could have had someone outside calling people by name and giving out the food for pick up. instead you just forced us to stand out there getting abused by your BOUNCER! He was nasty and physical...trying to physically move people back. We PAID for our food and we deserved to be treated with the same respect as your dine-in customers and get our food in a reasonable timely manner. Shame on you for treating people this way. Myself and a coworker went to lunch at margaritas today and the food was okay. We had the chicken mole and the aroz con pollo lunch specials. Both entrees came with rice and really awful refried beans. I was on my lunch hour so I wasn't able to sample a cocktail but the lively woman seated next to us sure looked like they were good. I am hoping they were not headed back to work with a large pitcher of sangria and they all had margaritas . Overall the experience was okay the food didn't wow me and I love Mexican food and the decor was a little dusty. But the older woo girls seated next to me added a show to our lunch. My family and I have loved this restaurant for a few years and it is always our go to Mexican restaurant. We wanted to take my mom out for her birthday and she wanted to go here. We called in the afternoon around one to ask if they take reservations for large groups (6) and they said yes they do and we made reservation for 6pm. We arrived at 6 only to be told that no, they do not take reservations and there was going to be a 45 minute wait. The hostess gave a quick apology, but did not try to rectify the situation in any way. We understand that it was a busy time at a popular restaurant, but that is why we made a reservation. My family and I were excited when we discovered a Margarita Cafe in Wantagh. We used to be frequent flyers of the Margarita Cafe in East Meadow and we loved it. There is absolutely no comparison. We were highly disappointed at the Wantagh location. Are they seriously owned by the same people?! The parking was a nuisance. The service in Wantagh was terrible! It took forever to get our dinner! I went with a group of girlfriends after seeing how busy the place is. The service was terrible . All the waiters & staff are running around in a sheer Panic without greeting any of the guests. As long time customers of many of the Margarita's restaurants in Nassau I was shocked at the rudeness and the homophobic slur the manager of the Wantagh location spit at me when i was trying to get his help on a hit and run that happened in his parking lot. He says things to me I cant repeat in this forum but I tried complaining to the chains owner William Montanez and he didnt fire Juan nor did he even appologize to me for what his manager said and did to me. Additionally my wifes car was smashed in their lot on their property and they didnt care in the least. I was given only 2 security photos too blurry to make out a plate number. In the entire time it took that car to enter the lot, to make a 3 point turn, and then back into my wifes car must have taken that driver at least 1 full minute in the lot. Yet I was given 2 pictures representing barely 2 seconds of time. Im sure there was more than 2 pics and there has to be an angle with the plate number showing. But William Montanez gives me 2 pics showing nothing at all that I can give to my insurance company. And i think that was intentional to deny me clear pics. Maybe an employee was the one that hit my wifes car and they are obstructing. Well William Montanez you lost me and my family as customers. My wife was a big fan of Margarita's but now none of us will eat in any of your restauraunts ever again. And its just as well because the last time I ate in Wantagh the tacos were as dry as sand. Taco Joes, a fast food taco place make tacos 1000% better than yours. And the noise level in Margarita's when your trying to eat and be social at your own table is obnoxious. The food was pretty good, but my boyfriend ordered the crab enchilada which had imitation crab which he got charged extra for...imitation crab is cheap! My boyfriend and brother each ordered a pineapple margarita.. They came back with only 1 pineapple with margarita in it with 2 straws(for my boyfriend and brother to share) and a picture of pineapple margarita. They said they ran out of pineapples hence there being a pineapple and pitcher(which they charged $36 for). They came back with a martini glass, not a margarita glass and gave it to me...I didn't order a drink. My brother came with us and got his own check...we got our bills and my boyfriend and I were charged for an extra entree, so I pointed it out to our waiter. Upon pointing it out he couldn't figure out that 2 people didn't order 3 entrees. The extra entree got removed but I had to haggle with our waiter to get him to remove the extra item. My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a shot and I'm not necessarily regretting it but I'm not jumping for joy. Their restaurant is so small luckily it was fairly empty when we went it seems as if people are on top of each other when it's full. We had like 5-7 different people serve us so it's hard to comment on the service they were all crazy nice but me personally I don't like having multiple servers at the same time and finally the food. I got the mole but it was nothing special nothing I can't get at another Mexican place it was very bland not much flavor. My girlfriend got a shrimp Quesadilla and it was just that a tortilla and a ridiculous amount of cheese and maybe 1 shrimp? I wasn't crazy about it and found it to be quite unappealing. We had a far and few between date night and went here based on recommendations on social media. The place is small and the tables for two are tiny and cramped but that didn't bother me. It was a Thursday night and the volume was loud, so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, this would not be the place. I had a frozen mango margarita, which was okay but nothing special. I'm allergic to onions, so eating out is tough to begin with.. let alone Mexican food -- I told the waiter I have an onion allergy and asked him for a suggestion. He recommended the fajitas, which could be prepared without onions. I ordered them, and they came with a few onions cooked in. I pointed out the onions and (again) told the waiter i would get sick if i ate them. He stared at me blankly, picked up the plate, and took it back to the kitchen area...maybe they just don't deal with patrons with food allergies often. Then we watched as the waiters congregated, looked over, and chattered about it by the kitchen window. The restaurant was going to prepare a replacement but after seeing their behavior I could no longer trust the food and told the manager I didn't want it. I sat and watched my wife eat the steak, rice, and sliced avocado. She said everything was really bland.. barely any seasoning on anything. She said the same about the salsa.. bland and no heat at all. I still tipped but got an earful in the car for doing so. I wanted to like this place because I live around the corner and I've seen places come in and out of this establishment. I first tried to take out and the food was pretty good. So I decided to come here for dinner. First off how does a Mexican restaurant run out of Corona light? The Guac live was average at best. For the entrée I had the homemade tamales which was again average at best. On the other hand my wife ordered the skirt steak the first time it came out it wasn't a skirt steak and it was gray when it was ordered medium. Now I'm not a fan of sending food back but we did and explain the situation when it came back 20 minutes later once again it was not a skirt steak and overdone and gray. And to top it all off I had a Mariachi band singing all up in my face and ears while I was trying to eat dinner not a fan of that.
