Rating: 3.5 / 5 Margaritaville is a very touristy type destination, so when rating it, i kept that in mind. We popped in on a hot summer day to try and escape the heat. Unfortunately it wasnt too much of an escape as the AC had broken. Highly themed and there was a lady on stilts walking around making balloon animals. And despite the heat, the staff was very friendly and stayed on top of the drinks. The food was pretty mid though. Largely tasted like classic Sysco food with a premium price tag. We got a basic cheeseburger and the trio appetizer. The fries were good, but the rest was Sysco quality. I did enjoy the experience enough to be satisfied. read more

Happy Birthday to Me Vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was fun sitting at the bar then waiting for a table. The atmosphere was energetic with the different televisions having sports on especially the Baseball All Star game. Good food and good conversation. The service was excellent. This was a fun restaurant with a great indoor and outdoor vibe. On a busy spring break week, the wait for 3 was about 40 minutes. The outdoor bar staff, the hosts, and the servers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We had an entertainer making balloon animals waking around on stilts which was fun to watch. The server handled food allergy concerns respectfully. The food was gross. My daughter ordered the chicken fingers kids meal and it was dried out and did not taste good. My other daughter ordered Mac and cheese and it was noodles with shredded cheese melted on it. I ordered jambalaya and it was dried out, chicken and sausage tasted like it was over microwaved from multiple reheats. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive. For tourist prices, I expected better food. We paid and left our food and went to search for something else. read more

Besides the food and service being absolutely terrible, management decided to charge a 3% fee if you paid with a debit card, despite the fact that it is printed on their menu that a fee will not be charged if you use cash, debit card, or gift card. When confronting the floor manager, she insisted that there was nothing she could do about it and pointed to the receipt which had printed on it that a 3% charge would be charged to any debit card with a logo of Visa or Mastercard on it. When I informed her that every debit card has a logo of visa or Mastercard on it, she still insisted that there was nothing she could do. I insisted that she take 3% off the bill which she eventually did after me arguing with her about it and telling her it was illegal to be charging a fee for using a cash option specifically printed on their menu. Now to the food and service... I was in a party of five and no one was happy with their food. I waited over an hour for a taco bowl that was served with dry lettuce, and what seem to be canned chopped meat that was absolutely tasteless. When I asked the waiter if I could get a side of sour cream he told me he had to upcharge me for it. When I asked if he thought it was right to charge me after I waited over an hour for my meal he decided not to charge me for the sour cream. I've had taco bowls in plenty of other restaurants, and none of them were ever served dry with absolutely no nothing added to it like a spoon of salsa or guacamole or a dollop of sour cream. His excuse for the slow service was. " aAter you came in the upstairs got really crowded and we're shortstaffed.".. so in other words if you get here first you get served last because another section had more people in it What a horrible place and definitely a tourist trap! Let me start by saying our server George was awesome! He was very accommodating and was very kind. Unfortunately the food was absolutely terrible... The fried pickles were so bland, no seasoning at all. I ordered the fish tacos. The rice was extremely dry, fish had 0 flavor or seasoning, would not recommend at all. A friend of mine ordered chicken and biscuits, the chicken was full of cartilage and mush, the green beans and mash potatoes were completely cold. The biscuit hard as a rock. I mean it just goes on and on. Everything that was served was like it was frozen and warmed up in a microwave... like I stated before, our server George was phenomenal, thank you for making our experience as best as you can! read more

This restaurant is located next to the aquarium at boardwalk on the beach. It is a major shopping and restaurant outdoor mall surrounding a man-made lake. It can be busy so be prepared for crowds just getting there. Having been to other Margaritaville locations I will do them a favor and just judge it against other locations. For those of you that have never been to one you are literally coming here for the vibe and the name on the wall, you can buy a way better hamburger for 20+ dollars somewhere else. Shoot, Five Guys crushes their burgers. For everyone else that is familiar with the business scheme of this restaurant let's look at simple facts and match them up. I was shocked at how run down they have let this spot get and the size of the lunch crowd reflected it. The service was perfectly fine although they took forever closing us out. Food came out fast but these places used to offer quality along with variety on the menu. The food is so heavily commercialized and processed now you are just paying for name and location. Having been in the restaurant business I can easily tell what is fresh and what comes out of bags. If I get a rebuttal that says their food is fresh made to order then that is an even bigger indictment of the cooking. This one isn't by a real beach and as I said it's run down for being in a heavily visited tourist zone. Clearly just relying heavily on company name and legacy. My wife was excited to come here and left really disappointed. I had what amounts to two frozen burger patties, lazy toppings, and what I can only assume was a salad that came out of a bag. My friend said she had a good meal here 10 years ago so we decided to try it again. Typical touristy place with food that "fills the hole" as my husband says about food that just satisfies hunger but is just ok. The best item was their perfect margarita. It was good but $14. I got the fish and chips ($23) and my fries were barely warm. I did point it out to the waitress and she brought newer ones... still not crunchy or hot.... but a bit warmer. My friend got the chicken stir fry which the waitress had warned her it was spicy... it wasn't AT ALL. In fact, it was sweet. There was only a tiny bit of rice. We were both disappointed. There were girls on stilts making balloon animals. One girl was in a skirt and I thought that was tacky since folks could likely look up her skirt. At the end, the waitress asked us to please give her a good Google review so that she could get a free T-shirt and handed us a QR code to scan. Businesses are basically bribing their customers or employees when they do stuff like this and skew their ratings. This skews the review from being honest as the customer feels like they should "do their server a solid" by giving a good rating or by not wanting to affect their job. It seems I've heard of this happening more often with Google reviews - that's one reason I don't trust Google reviews. Yelp is more honest IMO. read more

If I could rate them zero stars, I would. Three of us came in here on a Saturday evening to have one drink, and the staff was absolutely rude. We sat at the very end of the bar, and I'm only assuming the staff was tired, but they basically said we were too loud. No one was around us. Even one of the bartenders was shocked. Came to Myrtle for the day and walked all over Broadway and decided to stop here grab some late lunch before heading home. It was prob last couple calmer days before spring crowds come hit the area and not as slammed busy which I was happy for. Lucy was our waitress and she was very sweet and helpful. We were seated as soon as we walked in. It was around 2 pm and a beautiful warm day. They had not opened outdoor seating yet but we got a great view by window. I recall seeing the hurricane thing before but still very cool to see if come down and fill the blender lol.. my son got a burger and cooked to perfection he said. I got the coconut shrimp and boy they were huge! Half size of my hand!! Very flavorful! Came with a spicy sweet dipping sauce I couldn't get enough of! Margaritaville Myrtle Beach SC 3-2-25 We had to try this one and it did not disappoint. We arrived on a Sunday around 12:15pm and this place was just about full, but we got seated right away. I love the decor and it had such a great vibe with Jimmy Buffet music playing in the background. Our waiter Joesph was fast to get our drinks. I ordered the Chipotle Steak Bowl with extra Steak and my wife got the Beach Club with Fries. Our food came our fast enough and it looked amazing. My Steak Bowl was hot and very tasty and plenty of Steak in it which was done to perfection. My wife's Beach Club was huge and very good, her Fries were terrific. We had to get a to go box as we could not eat all of it. I must give this place a 5 out of 5 stars because of the tasty food great atmosphere and good service. I can't wait to go back. When I visit Myrtle Beach, the first place I want to go is Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach. I have very fond memories of times spent with friends and family. It was always a party. Not so much now. The coconut shrimp were delicious as usual. They came with fries for $26. No salad, no veggie. They are available. However, the salad is an additional $6.00, veggies another expense. Really? On top of that, they charge an extra 3% for the use of paying with a credit card. A draw was always watching the hurricane fill the blender, but the bills and whistles are non-existent now. It just fizzles-out. I get it. Restaurants are suffering now. Jimmy Buffet must be rolling in his grave. The server, philip was personal and attentive. Solid first experience. Our server, Dustin, was very friendly and kept up with us well. The food was delicious. My wife, accordingly, had a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and I had the grilled Mahi tacos. Both were great. I appreciated the calories on the menu as well. The interior of the restaurant was interesting to look at. Had a very cool moving "hurricane" on the ceiling. There was also a girl walking around on stilts making balloon sculptures for the kids. There is a lady who makes balloons and it was a big hit for our toddler. I wasn't crazy about where we sat, we were seated three across. I knew this was a tourist trap but my kids were hungry and I remember going as a kid and loved the place. Unfortunately, this place has gone down hill in a big way. When we walked up, there were at least 4 girls chatting away and it took about a minute or two before anyone even acknowledged us (it was not busy). Once we sat down, the server we had was very nice but the food was awful. Steak and rice bowl was bland with very little steak. Fish and chips were just mediocre and kids meals were ok. The place just seemed kinda dirty and their "hurricane show" was broken. For two adults and 3 kids, it cost $100 to eat. We later went for local seafood somewhere that night and 4 adults and 3 kids didn't even cost that for really good food. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a good minute. We should've known to find somewhere else from the very beginning. The hostess collecting names for the wait list was extremely rude and short with us. It was clear she didn't care if we stayed or went. When we approached it really wasn't even busy yet. We finally were sat. The restaurant itself was dirty. The bathrooms stunk. Then our actual dinner. They brought our food and no silverware. We asked the food runner who proceeded to tell us to "ask your server." Then I realized my entire order was wrong. It's now been 10 minutes and 4 different people were asked for silver ware and we still had none. They finally bring out my burger and no manager spoke to us. We watched several parties come and go in this entire time. The manager finally came to speak to us and wasn't even really apologetic about what happened. I will never come back to this location. We came on vacation with my grandparents and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table on a Thursday at 1pm. Then once seated a server didn't come for 12 more minutes. No introduction nor friendliness. All the tables around us were dirty and not cleaned. No music playing the restaurant and if it was it was much too quiet. Very disappointed in the value for the food and the photos of the food for the menu should be updated to accurately show the food being served. Have to be honest the ambience would get them five stars. The service three stars the food -2 it was awful. I was so looking forward to go in there because of the name I got the coconut shrimp. It was terrible. Red lobster is borderline good but their coconut shrimp is to die for compared to this. The dipping sauce felt like it was squeezed from one of those packets you get from a fast food joint it was terrible. Salad did not have enough dressing. Seafood pasta was mediocre and I ended up with the worst heartburn. I've had in 10 years. It was awful do better. read more

I was excited to visit Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for the first time while in Myrtle beach, but the food was honestly subpar. I understand that the visit might be just for the experience, but even that was a let down. It seemed so tacky, and their biggest attraction is a hurricane that drops tequila into a blender. The food was not great, we ordered the nachos, which looks grand but was so dry, and they didn't layer the toppings into the chips. I also ordered their appetizer trio that came with Tex mex eggrolls which were dry, chicken tenders that I could've made myself at home and more chips to go with the dip. The service was very good, and attentive, but overall, so overpriced for not wonderful food. You'll be spending at least $50 for a not very wonderful experience, when you could be spending that elsewhere. My advice, walk in to watch their "hurricane" for pics and walk right back out! read more

The hosts all seem to be annoyed. Our server, however, was wonderful! I wish I had gotten her name! She was so polite, sweet and attentive! Our water cups never ran dry! For appetizers we had the chicken quesadilla and the friend pickles. Both were good and came out promptly. We proceeded to wait over 30 min for our main meal. The food was just ok. I asked for my burger medium and it definitely rare! The fries were just ok. Everyone's means were fine, nothing to write home about but we weren't expecting gourmet. The restaurant has a lot going on, definitely sensory overload! We were happy to be in the outside enclosure. We went once, and I don't know that we would go back. read more

The food was okay. Nothing out of this world. I think people mainly come here for the decor. They have a pretty neat set up. Our waiter was nice. Although I did ask for a new piña colada virgin. My boyfriend asked for a non virgin one. When they brought our drinks out they gave me the non virgin. Keep in mind that I gave my 1 year old baby a taste thinking it was the virgin one. The food that was served was mediocre at best and the prices are outrageous! I have been to several Margaritavilles across the country and have never been disappointed before. We talked to the server and she just said sorry. We asked for a manager and he said there was nothing he could do because they already ran our cards to pay. Then he came back and said he would reverse the first charge and run it thru with a 15% discount. Our bill went from$106 to$100. That math isn't mathing. The inside of the restaurant was decorated pretty cool... with a couple tables inside of boats. The key lime pie martini is the best drink I've ever had in my life.
