Employee proceeded to the bar where he made 8 margaritas for a table, walked by us twice and 10 minutes later we were still waiting by front door not seated, or acknowledged again. All the employees behind the bar seemed to be having a good time, but did not appear to be interest in serving anyone new. Would have been less rude it they had just said....seat yourself! We came here after a nice hike to Vasquez Rock. We were craving something hefty as we were starving from being out in the sun all day. We walked in and there was no one at the hostess stand. We kind of stood around until we could flag down a worker. Once we were seated, complimentary chips arrived shortly after. And boyyy...are we glad they did. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy, our food took 45 mins to come out. The only thing that saved our stomachs were the chips! I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Rancheras combo plate that came with 2 enchiladas, rice, beans, sour cream, and guac. The enchiladas were tasty and I liked the shredded chicken that they used. Beans were okay but the rice was delicious. My friend ordered the Enchilada, Chile Relleno, and Steak combo plate. I had a bit of her steak and...well, I've had better steaks. She said she enjoyed her meal though and even took some of it to go. Plenty of parking and clean bathrooms, but slow service all around. read more

Visited Maria Bonita's yesterday with my wife on our way to Animal Tracks nearby. The restaurant was recommended on Animal Track's website so we figured we'd give it a go. The gentleman that seated us was very friendly and spent a few minutes at the table talking to us asking where we were from and how our experience in Agua Dulce was so far. They took our order pretty quickly and the food came out fast. I had the Arroz con Pollo and the ranchera sauce on it was delicious, I really enjoyed my meal. My wife had a tostada and enjoyed it for the most part but said there was a ton of lettuce on it and not enough of the other ingredients, she would have liked less lettuce and more beans. It also had guac and avacado on it which seemed a bit excessive. The salsa was good but not very hot, chips seemed pretty fresh, not that day fresh but not old either. Overall it was a pretty good experience and I"d come back for another go next time I'm in the area. read more

Maria's is the heart and soul of the Agua Dulce community. Customer service is top notch as well as the food and drinks. After a short day trip from Los Angeles to learn about alpacas and check out the winery, my friend and I thought some Mexican food would hit the spot. After reading the reviews on the limited amount of places to eat in the area, we found Maria Bonita and decided to give it a try, even though the rating was averaging three and a half stars, which we both thought was accurate. The service was friendly, they brought us chips and salsa immediately, but then they slowed it down noticeably, which we expected because of what other reviewers wrote. My friend also voiced that the tablecloth was slightly stained, which is kind of off-putting. We both ordered standard fare, I got a taco and cheese enchilada with beans and rice covered in delicious cheese for days. My friend ordered enchiladas. We both liked the food fine, though it was a bit on the salty side as this type of Mexican can often be. Prices were also reasonable. My combo cost about $12. If you are looking for old school American-style Mexican food that you can take your older family to and aren't looking for fast service, definitely worth a go. read more

I was trying to find a great place to eat that was half way between SFV and Lancaster. Low and behold I found this place. Talk about "off the beaten path"......but it's worth it! Customer service was fantastic, nice portions, good food, great drinks specials! I've been coming here since I was week old (honestly) so my review may be a bit bias. I absolutely love Maria's, it takes me back to every special event growing up. Over the years nothing has really changed. The food is still amazing and the service is top notch. They always make sure you have chips and salsa and you will never find an empty glass at your table or any other. Their tortilla soup (I think it's called Maria's soup now) is the best I have ever had. I spend my days trying to find a comparison but everyone always falls short. My all time favorite dish is the molcajete, it's the best and I can't find anywhere that even offers this dish. We have lived in Agua Dulce for 20 years, Maria's has been our favorite Mexican food and grateful they are so close. When C19 hit we ordered to go and noticed food that we enjoyed had become even better. Come to find out the owner had to go back to the kitchen to cook due to loss of employees (cooks). What luck for the patrons. We are such huge fans. The remaining crew have been so sweet and attentive. Have gone to this place many times but after tonight never again. Tried to place a pick up order for dinner on the way home from la. Tried three time first time picked up the phone and hung up on us. Second time a guy answered and asked us to hold then once again hung up. There were about 15 in our group and they were able to quickly and easily seat us all together at a table a chair spot. There was no squishing going on here. I don't remember what everyone ordered, but when our food arrived our conversations ceased as we all gorged on our grub. Our server was on it, beverage glasses were always as full as we requested, food came out hot and all at once, server called for back up. To top it off, he split the check for us individually. Now if that's not 5-star service, guess I need to go back to Yelp college and retake Ratings 101. There aren't very many eateries to choose from in Agua Dulce, glad this one worked out for us. Had a very nice dinner with 2 margaritas each. Got the bill and it was over 100.00. The margaritas were over 18.50 each and it was not any special tequila!! Same size you get at other restaurants for 13.50. I asked the waiter (not ours) who came out about the prices his answer was 'it is what it is'. We have been here a few times and the food is good and the service has always been decent. We have never paid that much for the drinks though. To receive that kind of answer was rude and not customer friendly so I called the manager when I left and was told the person who responded to us that way was actually the Owner. Great family restaurant. Friendly staff and the best Mexican food around. Tonight I had Camarones Maria or bacon wrapped shrimp. Very generous portions and the shrimp were fabulous! The Margaritas are addictive. Chips and salsa are really good too. My Sister had steak fajitas that arrived at the table steaming hot and the steak was done to perfection and so tender. Maria Bonita's in Agua Dulce is the only 'real' restaurant in this very small town, just north of Santa Clarita. To be fair the food is reasonable, and the restaurant's ambience is quite pleasant. The service is not that great though, staff are too busy chatting with the locals and you can hear them messing about in the kitchen. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try . The drive is about 30 minutes from where we live and the food is definitely worth the drive . All of the staff and so attentive and friendly. The chips and salsa are delicious and fresh each time ! Our go to plate is the molcajete and it's the best a very large portion to share and we always have left overs . The molcajete is huge and comes with a variety of meats like chicken , steak , shrimp and chorizo with cheese and veggies . Followed by , 2 plates of beans , rice , salad and guacamole.
