Absolutely my favorite Mexican food restaurant! Maria Bonita is usually empty during the day and at night, this place is where it's happening! Even when it gets busy, the service has always been great. Their food is delicious, I have never eaten anything here that I did not like. I could literally just eat their chips and salsa all night and be completely satisfied...they're sooo good. You must try their tortilla soup as an appetizer. Their burritos are huge and their tacos are great (especially taco Tuesdays for $1). When visiting Agua Dulce, be sure to check out Vasquez Rocks and the Agua Dulce Winery, and go to Maria Bonita for dinner! You will not be disappointed! read more

So my boyfriend grew up in Agua Dulce and he said that Maria Bonita's was gross. I usually trust his culinary opinion, but last night I NEEDED to have Mexican food. I decided to give it a try, despite his review. And it was...DELICIOUS. I don't know if the owners have changed since my b/f tried it or what, but damn was it tasty. I got the Fajita burrito. It was simply marinated beef with three different kinds of sauteed peppers and onions with a red sauce on top. Simple, but the seasonings were perfection. It came with rice and beans that took up half the plate. I looooove refried beans so I was in heaven. I also got a side of guacamole and chips which were both fresh and delicious. My only complaint is the price. $19 for a burrito and a side of guacamole is pretty outrageous to me. And this was take out so the total includes no tip. Despite the high prices, I'm definitely going back when I have my next massive Mexican food craving...it was just that good. read more

I ordered take out last night, ordered two tacos and a small order of quacamole and was charged 18.00 I didnt get a receipt and didnt think of asking why it was so much!! Please check your receipts and make sure you are charged correctly!!!! I doubt calling them will resolve anything since I do not have a receipt Maria this happened on thursday nite Just remember to check your bill or receipt since this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened, we were also charged twice on our debit card on another occasion. I guess because it was Taco Tuesdays where they're only a buck. The place is pretty big with a bar area and a few tables outside where you can dine outside. I ordered the Carne Asada with a chile relleno and a salad on the side because I don't really like rice and beans and I was very happy with my food. The meat was honestly a steak instead of a stringy piece of flank and was cooked medium, just how I ordered it. My chile relleno was soft and light. They really couldn't fuck up on the salad because it looked like it came out of a bag. The service was okay. I can tell the waiter was tubing really badly and he kept on forgetting what we ordered when we wanted dressing or more drinks but I was glad he kept on coming back to confirm. read more

Your typical Mexican joint, serving standard sit down Mexican food. There is not much up this way and Maria Bonita stands out as better than any of the chain joints you will find off of the 14. The interior is a bit sterile and very spread out. But the booths are comfortable. We ordered some typical combinations and shrimp dish. The shrimp were a bit overcooked. The rest of the food was good, not phenomenal, but it hit the spot. Their salsa is too tomatoey but we were hungry so it tasted good. While the food overall was a 3, service was outstanding. We are here at least once a week. It's friendly. We usually eat in the bar since the dining room acoustics are a little boom-y for our taste. The food is always good, and the service is always excellent. They get our drinks down quickly and sometimes know what we're going to drink before we order. On weekdays, there is a very nice appetizer selection in their "free with 2 drinks" appetizer bar during Happy Hour. On Tuesdays, all evening they have $1.00 tacos, which are great! Here's a tip from a local: On the "secret menu" is a wonderful shrimp ceviche. You just have to know to ask. Ok......hubby and i came up from san dimas to hike vasquez rock area because he just had a knee replacement two months ago and dr says he can walk with me now. Twenty years together, two knee replacements, he can now walk with me without pain!!!!!!! Went to winery after, then to maria bonita to eat. I have been here before and didn't have the same bad experience, but I will not be returning to this restaurant. To make a long story short, I came in with my daughter after work just looking for a table for two (and there were many open tables). I stood by the counter for 15 minutes, I actually watched the time, and waited as a man helped a woman with her bill. When he was done he looked at me and then walked away, without saying anything. In the mean time a large group of people walked up to the counter standing in front of me. A woman came to the counter and started to ring them up, all individually. After 15 minutes of standing there, wondering if I was invisible or not, I left. Customer service is very important to me and I will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Im so disappointed, we've been going here for years and it's really sliding. The one in canyon country is a bit better but thats it. Tonight at the aqua Dulce location we had to ask for menus but they asked if we wanted a second drink 5 times! They really like pushing the drinks hard and I really don't even care about that. Tonight's issues were....the chips were cold and stale. The salsa (which we always liked) was like water with a few onions in it. We asked for 3 different refills and everyone was exactly the same, all water. But the best (I mean worst) part was the salad, the dressings are quite literally as thin as water. Our blue cheese tasted exactly like watered down ranch that they assured me was their blue cheese. It was was just a pile of lettuce soaking in blue cheese flavored water. The waiters singing at the top of their lungs while they're in the kitchen is SO DAMN ANNOYING. come on Maria Bonita's STEP UP YOUR GAME, you guys used to be so much better! read more

Absolutely livid. I ordered 6 tacos, 4 asada and 2 al pastor. I come to realize each taco is 4.25 so I'm thinking these are going to be some good tacos if they're that price. NO, I get home and they are thee dryest, hardest tacos I've ever tasted. The al pastor tacos are that AND NOT ACTUAL AL PASTOR. Idk what they put on there but it was the saltiest seasoning. I will never go back to this restaurant! We had the WORST service ever!!! We have a great Maria Bonita's in Santa Clarita, but decided to take a drive out to the one in Agua Dulce. The waiters AND manager were beyond incompetent, they were RUDE! The owner, Jose Sotelo, needs to have a serious talk with his employees. They treated us as it it was a bother just to take our order. I tried to get ones attention, and he just turned an walked away, totally ignoring me The place was virtually empty, so we expected good service. One gal that goes there frequently agreed with us! The boyfriend and I ended up here after a day of driving across the state. Seemed like family night out on the Saturday we were there as there were several large tables with clearly parents, children and even grand children throughout the restaurant. While we waited for a table (only a few minutes), I noticed a couple of other patrons picking up to go plates. I don't know the area so I don't know if this the only place in town or if this a local favorite. I will note that we were surprised that while we were seated in one of the booth spots about mid room, we really felt like we had a private little spot in the restaurant. It wasn't noisy at all. The margaritas were nice and cool. The fajitas are clearly a favorite at this spot; there were several tables around us that ordered them and the sizzling platters are hard to miss. Boyfriend ordered the chile relleno plate and I had this amazing bowl of chicken stew with mushrooms. We ate everything. Would have probably ordered another round of margaritas and dessert but we were stuffed to the gills and thought we'd better head back to the hotel. Our waiter was attentive and was pretty well versed in the history of the town. We got some great tips on a place for breakfast the next day and some things to check out before we headed out of town. I have been a long time customer here. Recently the restaurant has changed, whenever myself and co-workers placed orders we used to get chips and salsa with our orders. However, they have now changed it to where they will only give us one small bag of chips and salsa even though we have 3 separate checks and 3 separate people ordering food. I asked them what is the difference if we walked in there separately versus having one person pick up the orders? The stated it was inventory!!!! I think this is hilarious that they are so cheap to not allow chips and salsa for each order. I will not be eating here and my fellow 19 employees will also not eat here anymore. This place feels like home to me. I grew up eating at this restaurant with my best friend and 10 years later we are still attached to this cozy little mexican restaurant. You can tell that the food is authentic and cooked with love. Even though i live 30 minutes away, i do my best to visit this amazing establishment at least a couple times a month. I order the enchiladas and tortilla soup and they taste better than any other enchiladas I've ever had (trust me I've tried a lot). The staff is always hospitable and friendly. This was a cute restaurant until apparently it was the owners son who waited on us this guy was the worst waiter on top of that they had no drink menu and my husband and I and our friend ordered drinks "house" margarita's and I asked what type of tequilas they had asking if it cost more to change not being a margarita drinker, and he said nothing about a cost difference then the house margarita and the one with a silver tequila we proceeded to order two drinks a piece as well as a 13.00 entrée to split and a kids meal a quesadilla and fries no drink then my friend ordered a tostada and two drinks, we opted to split the bill and our total was over $100.00 LUNCH yes we were charged for two entrées and kids meal over $60 and total said drinks were 38 total... As the ticket was not filled out per meal nor cost of drinks he proceeded to charge 10+ dollars for our sons meal... My friend just went there had 4 cocktails three entrées' and was charged $48 Not the best experience. read more
