I've been wanting to go to Maria TASH since seeing it on Selling Sunset. I finally was able to get a new piercing postpartum so I convinced my husband to go to the west side to Maria TASH. I called before making an appointment since I'm coming from across LA. They told me they had the jewelry I wanted and would put it on hold for me. I wanted to do the TASH Hidden rook since a lot of LA piercers don't do them. They made me an appointment for that Sunday at 12pm. They also gave me a warning there's a farmers market so parking might be tough. It's all street parking btw. Walked in at about 11:50am and greeted by Oscar, who was super friendly. He was showing me a bunch of pieces since the one I put on hold did not work with my anatomy. After looking through several styles, I chose a yellow gold marquise threaded charm. It was about a 20 minute wait. We decided to get food at the farmers market. Around 12:30pm, I got taken upstairs to the waiting area and Harrison asked if I was ready. Nervous but ready, he went over the piercing I wanted. He said he thinks he could fit it inside my rook and we went ahead and did it. He was so calm, cool and collected the whole time. I really appreciate his patience with my ear anatomy and achieving the piercing I wanted. We spend around $380 for the pricing service and jewelry. The headline here is that this place is the best and if you want to get pierced- this is the place to do it, trust me. I went from having zero piercings back in May 2025 to now having 8 in Jan 2026 (with a few more on the way). The jewelry is gorgeous and reasonably priced for the exceptional quality that it is, but beyond that- the team is simply unparalleled. Shauntae, Stephane, Harrison, and the entire crew here are so kind, so welcoming, and just want to make sure you find the best pieces to fit what you're looking for. Shauntae has taken such great care of me and so many of my friends that I've brought in. At this point, I honestly look forward to grabbing a matcha across the street and popping in to say hi, chat, look at the new pieces, and check the healing on some of my newer piercings. And Stephane and Harrison are some of the best piercers I've ever come across. They're so gentle, friendly, and want nothing more than to make sure you're comfortable the entire time. They are also not shy about letting you know what they feel will/won't work and why as well as giving ideas that they feel would look and heal the best based on your specific body. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this candor in a retail environment and to be honest, it has built so much trust for me, that I basically do whatever the team tells me I should do at this point. Looking for vibey ear candy made of gold and diamonds... look no further. The individual earrings are incredibly pricey - you are NOT getting any sort of deal here. But the curation of the pieces is exceptional. And the quality of the backing ensure your investment is going to distance by preventing loss. I really enjoyed the staff. They were all great. I'll be back later this year to continue curating my stack. If you're curious about the price point, I'd say the average budget to plan for is around 2k for a few earrings. If I could give zero stars, I would. I came to Maria Tash for what I thought would be a super high-end piercing, but it turned into an absolute nightmare. The piercer (Sandra) was careless and pierced my upper earlobe (placement was off as well) with a small diameter hoop earring which was way too narrow and put extra pressure on the wound. It would not heal, and I was finally forced to remove it, leaving me with a botched piercing and a noticeable scar. I went back to Maria Tash and the manager was quick to resolve my problem. She was great, no complaints. I also had the piercing re-done by Stephane, who was extremely nice, patient and re-pierced me correctly. Because everyone agreed that the diamond hoop was not the proper earing for the upper lobe, they let me swap it out for a gorgeous flatback earring. Unfortunately, this earring (which is priced in excess of $2k) has turned a rusty color--again, completely unacceptable, especially since it's an extremely expensive "designer" piece. This place is supposed to provide a high-end experience and top-notch jewelry. Overall, my experience was quite bad. Don't waste your money. read more

Went in with an appointment on Saturday evening with my mind set on exactly what I wanted. I had selected my desired jewelry piece online and so styling was simple! The service at Maria Tash was excellent. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and assisted. Once I shared my chosen piece and desired piercing placement, they had me complete some paperwork on a handheld device - super easy and quick. They also explained aftercare and offered some tips on the healing process. My piercer Thaina was awesome. We worked together to mark the best spot for the piercing and the rest was just as easy. She had me take a long breath in and she pierced with ease and precision, I hardly felt a pinch. She was great and overall the experience was better than I anticipated. I went with a Tash Rook piercing with their butterfly, flat-back earring. I would definitely recommend coming to get your piercings here, and if not a piercing then just to explore the selection of fine jewelry pieces they have to offer. read more

We were recommended to Amanda (by our friends who have the highest standards), for our daughter's ear piercing that she and her best friend were looking forward to for years! Changing it to 5 stars for Jack and all his recent help sourcing pieces that were being retired/ phased out. With Jack's assistance I got almost everything I wanted before it disappeared, which involved MANY phone calls, texts, inventory deep dives, circling back to see if availability had changed, and most notably -- correspondence during his free time. I've referred a number of people to him and all have been quite satisfied. Jack's patience with any indecisiveness is really impressive... He literally sat with me and my THREE YEAR OLD for almost 2 hours looking at merchandise!! And now my little guy always asks to come along to the "fancy earring shop," or tells me to say hi to Jack when I can make the trip solo I know I'm not the easiest customer in the world... it's tough when I want basically everything but can't spend with the frivolity of unencumbered youth. Jack has learned by now how to help rein me in, reminding me of what I've long admired but NEVER pressuring me to purchase anything. There is no need for sales pressure, frankly. These pieces sell themselves. I can't wait to get more piercings and always leave planning the next purchase ! Although it's funny, I'll never get used to the healing process. It seems I'm increasingly nervous the older I get -- and I have had a *lot* of piercings in my life. But 2 toddlers + fresh piercings + shiny objects inside them = 3 months of playing keep away, with the occasional cringe-inducing yank. I definitely thought my piercing years were behind me, but Maria Tash convinced me otherwise. And rest assured I see people of every age and kind here: teenagers with parents in tow, middle-aged women getting their second holes 40 years after their first, 2 generations piercing together... all genders, all ages, all levels of experience. I'd even say there's a fair spread on the jewelry people choose to pierce with. I wouldn't have imagined such restraint, but some people really go for a simple stud or clean hoop and leave without breaking the bank. If I were going to get a piercing with a small budget, this is still where I would go. Your typical piercing shop will have a much wider selection of affordable jewelry (sub $300/ earring)... but I'd take advantage of the master technicians on staff and purchase jewelry elsewhere once healed. Jewelry is replaceable; poorly done piercings are not so easily fixed! And it's actually very easy to mess up something as straightforward as lobes, particularly if you're going for a highly "curated" look with future piercings in mind. read more

Everyone stay away from here! I got the most horrible infection from the metal. Inside the backing, the earring is threaded through your ear with a piece of dark silver metal. They say it is not meant to go inside your ear but if the backing becomes even loose by the slightest amount it is sitting in your ear. I mentioned this at a preschool playdate and TWO other moms also got an infection from here. The jewelry is beautiful but it isn't what they claim it to be. And the customer service is beyond awful. When I mentioned the infection and needing the antibiotics, they responded with "you were fine at 24 hrs post so nothing we can do." I have tried to reach out because now I'm stuck with a $700 stud I can't use for a single piercing that is now just a scar on my ear. Bottom line, don't go here! read more

My experience here was amazing! All the nervousness of getting a new piercing was gone right when I walked in. The ladies were so nice and were so patient with me while picking my jewelry. When I finally picked a dainty piece they told me to go upstairs where they have a restroom and little lounge. Visited the store a while back with my daughter who was getting a piercing and I was switching out temporary earrings I had received in an earlier piercing to permanent earrings. The earring selection was fairly good, pricey, but with the store being in the west LA neighborhood, it makes sense. They replaced the temp earring with a perm one and its hard to understand how short the post on the earring really is until you need to take it off and put it back in. The post is so teeny tiny, I can barely place the earring in my ear and hold it to place the screw on backing. Its so frustrating how darn small it is. The temp backing is longer which had I known how difficult it was going to be to take these earrings on/off if I needed to, I would have opted for the longer post. It feels like these earrings are made sparingly to save money on the gold on the back side of the earrings. I won't be buying these again. As for the experience in the store, my daughter commented that it wasn't anything special which I thought was telling. She's 20 yrs old and fairly intuitive about people. She said the staff were decent, but not anything she'd expect in an expensive area with higher end jewelry. I would need to agree. I expected a little more hands on and friendlier personalities working at the counter. Staff seemed to be focused on socializing to one side while we wondered around the counter looking at jewelry. Such a legendary concept. Instead of the traditional rings, necklaces, etc., fine and luxury body jewelry I was looking for my first and ideal septum ring since I got it pierced this summer and they delivered. The piercer knows exactly what diameter of the ring you need just by looking at you and how you were pierced. They install your ring for you too. I wish I got pierced here. The guy behind the counter was very reassuring, honest, and communicative throughout. I can't wait to come back when I can afford more body jewelry. Got my helix and earlobes pierced around February and was told that the helix piercings would take about nine months to a year to heal. The store assured me that if I needed a shorter post, I could come back. However, the initial post they used was not long enough to accommodate the inflammation that started soon after. My ear became very irritated and painful. When I went back to the store to address the issue I said that I might have an infection but they dismissed it as normal. The staff insisted that I must be sleeping on it, which I wasn't, and claimed I wasn't taking care of it properly, despite my diligent cleaning. They refused to switch out my post for a longer one. Frustrated, I went to Studs, where they immediately changed my piercing to a longer post because they said I definitely need a longer post and if it didn't start healing after that then I should see a doctor. The pain became unbearable, so I went to the ER and was diagnosed with an infection. In summary, Maria Tash offers expensive services with poor customer support and questionable expertise. They charge premium prices but fail to provide adequate assistance when complications arise. read more

Edit: my piercer was cori! Thanks so much! Booked a double helix piercing here after seeing great reviews. Everyone was so welcoming and professional. I was so nervous for my first helix (both done in same session) but my piercer was so sweet and helpful. She helped me find ideal placement/ hoop size and was so friendly. I will probably call the store and ask for her name so i can book with her next time I get my other ear done. Piercing stations are all super clean, you are walked through every process. Ive seen improper piercings/heard bad accounts from people who've gotten this same piercing and I was very nervous, but I now realize you get what you pay for. All my friends had gone to random shops without doing prior research, used cheap jewelry or just had it done by friends who knew how to pierce. The professionalism and skill from my piercer was enough to justify the price. Piercings and tattoos are one thing you should never try to save a dollar on! If anyone is wondering, it was $25 per piercing and I went with the white gold hoops. After 20% tip rounded out to be about $400. Hope to be back next time I'm in LA :) read more

I got my nose pierced for the first time at Harrods in London Feb. 1st and was grateful there was an LA location. I returned stateside and on Feb. 17 my nose piercing completely fell out. I called this location, and admittedly I was very frustrated and short with Sandra, who had answered my call. This was my first experience getting my nose pierced, plus it was very expensive. So, hearing since it was a fresh piercing that might lose before I can get there so they can put it back in, was anger inducing. If closed, I'd have to wait three months before they could pierce it again. However, when I got there Sandra was quick to hustle me upstairs where she proceeded to sterilize everything and get to work on getting my piercing back in. Thank the universe it went back in without issue and she made sure to tighten it to avoid any further issues. She also was a gem and accepted my apology for being short, but she totally understood my perspective and just told me to come back when it's healed, she'll shorten the backing for me. She was great and the staff that was in that evening was very friendly and ready to assist. Looking forward to going back and switching up my earrings. read more

I took my 5 year old for a walk in on a Monday afternoon and was accommodated by a super helpful male employee who walked us through selecting the jewelry that worked for my daughter and budget. We had to wait about 15 minutes in a nice waiting area on the 2nd level where we played a nice game of I-Spy out of the huge window facing Melrose Plqce. She was pierced by Thaina who was so awesome with her. My daughter loved her and felt very safe and secure. She did not know what to expect re pain and was a little shocked but didn't move and Thaina talked her through everything, keeping her calm. She even gave her a comforting hug inbetween ears. My daughter was tearing a bit but it didn't stop her from going into the 2nd ear. On a freakout vibe scale I'd say she was only at like a 3.5/10 (and I've seen some 10s at Claire's!) Thaina gave her loads of encouragement and 2 lollipops. 10/10 experience! read more

Love the look of the studio. The exterior and interior design is beautiful. I really appreciated that after you pick your piece they are able to put it to your ear so you can envision what it'll look like on. After finalizing your selection they take payment and take your jewelry to be sterilized. You then go to the second floor to meet your piercer. When entering the room my piercer showed me my jewelry as she was taking it out of the sterilizer and marked my ear. After the process I was left with a beautiful earring perfectly placed. The reason for a docked star is because some of the staff, not all, were very snobby. I feel like when you work in customer service you definitely should have some. read more

I'm a big Maria Tash fan, I've purchased several pairs of earrings online and was so excited when they opened this location but I will never shop here again. The staff I worked with was dry, unprofessional and didn't explain anything about the jewelry. I debated between a pair of threaded back earrings and regular butterfly posts for my still healing 3rd lobe piercings. I explained these piercings were still healing and slightly swollen to the sales associate which is why I wanted to install higher quality jewelry to help them heal. When I asked about the differences between the two styles of earrings she said there wasn't any difference, but the butterfly posts are easier to change. So with that recommendation I chose the butterfly backs, only to discover that post length for these earrings is SO SHORT- it's too short for my piercings!! So I spent $450 on teeny diamond studs I can't wear. After my visit I saw a post from Maria Tash explaining how the threaded backs vary in length-so basically the sales associate just didn't tell me that, despite my questions and telling her about my needs. I went to Maria Tash specifically because their expertise is supposed to be curation and fitted jewelry, what a joke! I've received better customer service from teenagers at a smoothie shop. read more

I had misshaped them because I removed them incorrectly years ago and have had people try and get them in, but never could. He was able to get them in place with no problem and they look beautiful, I'm so happy he was able to fix them for me! I have been meaning to write this review for months, but I suck. First, huge shoutout to Maggie who helped my indecisive ass finally make a decision on an earring for my tragus piercing. She is a doll. So patient and helpful and my guess, undervalued/underpaid. My piercer was a little cold but did a great job. It wasn't painful and it's healing well, despite me/my dog knocking it a few times. The head piercer who was French was a dick, though, heads up. Just not a friendly or comforting person in a place where you're going to have nerves. I hate how expensive all the jewelry is but I knew that going in. I'd go back if there were a piece I was obsessed with and couldn't find elsewhere--I do think they did a better job on the piercing than some other studios I've been to.
