I really appreciated seeing a "mask required to enter" sign upon walking into this restaurant. I think it's the responsible thing to do with an uptick of Covid-19 cases. We were told where to sit as were entered. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us menu recommendations since we had never had this cuisine before. There was a check in offer that gave us two vegetable lumpia for free. We tried all the different lumpia they had and they were all really good. My youngest son ordered the deep fried tacos. He couldn't eat them all so I had a couple bites and they were amazing! My husband, older son, and I all tried the fried rice. It was interesting because it had spam in it. It was really good and they gave a good portion of meat. This place has great food and service. I highly suggest you stop by! read more

The staff were exceptional and very attentive. The menu has a wide variety and something for almost everyone. There is also a catering menu. The vegetable lumpia was very good and 3 for $5. A bowl of pancit was $4.25. I love pancit, but not this style of pancit. My husband had boneless pork, rice and a fried egg. It's a very casual atmosphere in a strip center. All I can say is, "WONDERFUL"! Today, they were the ROTD(review of the day). MG's has been on my list of places to visit and dine. I have been off work this week, so I took advantage of heading this way for lunch with Ernie. They have an extensive menu and it was so hard to decide, because it all sounds so good. The Owners/employees were so kind and polite. Ernie ordered the burger, red rice, gravy and Mac salad(Loco Moco). I had the boneless chicken, red rice and macaroni salad(Chamorro fried chicken dish). I eat here maybe 3 or 4 times a month, as i work in the same plaza. I am NEVER disappointed. The staff is AMAZING and friendly. Wow! This local business was the highlight of my trip. It's a family owned business and they definitely want you to experience the best! The interior was attractive and well thought out. Despite eating well past closing time (maybe 10-15 minutes), they didn't make us feel rushed to finish our meal. After much debate, I ordered an empanada Chamorro and the kalua pork plate which is one of their specials. The empanada shell came out so crispy and perfect. Although not flavorful, the island dressing was sure to compliment. They really know how to balance flavors which was also present in the kalua pork plate. I was in love with the radish kimchi (I prefer it over the cabbage). The pork was so tender and there was more than enough for left overs which I was ecstatic about! read more

Call and ask for the curbside specials. I got the Kalua pork plate with chicken leg, mixed pickle, rice and mac salad. Huge portion and delicious. A little salty. The chicken drumstick with the fish sauce condiment was savory. Meat lumpia were crispy and hot. Don't pay attention to the menu linked to from Yelp or search engines. That is their food truck menu. Also their website prompts the visitor to install a Chrome extension. No thanks. Like many businesses, restaurants are struggling with how to best present themselves in this hyper-digital/virtual commerce environment we all inhabit now. It worries me that the small local restaurants will not survive because ordering is too hard. I prefer to phone rather than use an ordering service. Those services, whether you use delivery or not must charge a chunk of the revenue which probably eliminates a lot of margin. read more

I've experienced better. I've gone there for lunch but last night I went there for dinner pick-up and had the worst experience. I ordered two lumpia and a Kalua Mocomoco w/ Island Mac. First, those were not lumpia. They were filled with vegetables and had less than 5% meat. There were not supposed to be vegetable lumpia. Definitely, not worth $1. Google lumpia and look how the inside usually looks. These were completely vegetables. It didn't even taste like meat. I felt like I was eating a veggie lumpia. Next, everything on the printed menu is less than $10. I was thinking when they showed me the specials of the day: a list of about 7 choices they would be about the same price or up to $12. There were no prices on any of those short black menus. Kalua Mocomoco w/ Island Mac was $15.99. I didn't find out until I was at the register. I figured it was going to be a very large portion so I paid and tipped. I received my meal and the island mac was in a container the size of a sauce container. The size that you would get as a tester in a grocery store. The meal is served with gravy. They gave so much gravy. It is about the size that they give you at jollibee's yet this have it inside the container with the food making less room for food like rice and pork. Jollibee's puts their gravy outside the chicken container to make room for chicken. Definately, small portion and not worth $15.99. I recommend the options on the menu but not the entrees. I spent over $20 for this food. It was definitely not worth it. read more

Maybe a 3.5 stars. Having high expectations due to the great reviews- I was quickly disappointed. The service was good, when placing my order the lady was very pleasant and nice. I ordered the following: Spam Musubi- literally just a piece of spam on top of mushy rice with a side of soy sauce. When I think spam musubi I think of the crispy fried spam glazed in teriyaki sauce over a warm bed of sushi rice. Not worth it for $2.75. Loco Moco- Probably the best out of everything. A beef patty on top of a bed of rice topped with an egg that was cooked nice runny yolk. The patty had flavor and the gravy salted to bring everything together. Mac salad had canned tuna in it? Never had that before. Can't say I like it. Teriyaki Chicken- Grilled chicken thigh in a 'teriyaki' sauce that was mixed with sweet Thai chili. Chicken was dry, sauce was meh. Came with Mac salad and fiesta rice which was tasty. Side of Pancit- For $4, I expected a slightly bigger portion. Good flavor but the noodles were less than al dente. There was maybe 2 tiny pieces of chicken and a couple pieces of cabbage... Interior was cute and island themed. Do not know if I will return. read more

We were seated right away, along with drink orders immediately as well. They have a little picture board of the specials that they bring to you on your table to help you decide on what to order. This is super helpful especially if you have never been. We got the loco moco & the island style short ribs. I am actually not usually a fan of loco moco, but theirs was really tasty! The meat patty was flavorful on its own without the gravy. It was perfect with the fiesta rice. The short ribs were pretty good too. Mac salad was also just right. My husband, son, and I came here for an early dinner. Very friendly atmosphere and great customer service. My husband got teriyaki chicken and I got the island short ribs. Both were very delicious! The food was not flavorful at all! The chicken was dry on a kabob stick, there version of empanadas were spicy which was basically spicy rice, i didn't taste no chicken in it & they called it a empanada! They over cooked our chicken empanadas, i mean they were so black & hard & when I advised them of it, I can hear them in the kitchen complaining & yelling! Well, they wouldn't make it right, the lady just told us that they took it off the bill & she was very rude! We sat there waiting for them to recook fresh empanadas, which they were so hard they looked & tasted recooked/reheated in the first place! We were very disappointed in this restaurant because it was our first time & we were responding to a restaurant bloggers choice! Well it is NOT my choice! A Caucasian man came in after us, they treated him like a king! After seeing the cook come out with his clothes so dirty, I would NOT advise no one to eat there anyways! His shirt & pants & socks looked like he had been fishing in a pig pin! The food was NOT good at all! NO second chances for this restaurant! Great place to eat! The service is awesome. It really felt like you were at a friend's house grabbing some good Filipino or Hawaiian food. The staff was extremely helpful and was willing to point us to any deals that were going on or suggestions that they had. I ordered the Island Style Short Ribs. It comes with a side of rice and mac salad. I'm a HUGE fan of this dish, and if it's available at a restaurant, I always order it. It tasted pretty good! The portion wasn't too big or too small, and it left me the perfect amount of room to try their Spam Musubi (10/10 would recommend). The sauces that they gave for each dish were awesome. A really charming family-owned restaurant serving the cuisines of the North Marianas Islands, Guam, Hawai'i and to some extent Filipino cuisine, and all of these except the latter are rather difficult to find. Understanding a little about these cuisines is helpful, because things like lumpia and adobo are made rather differently in Guam than in the Filipino tradition, so if you order adobo, it will be more a soup and contain far, far, more hot peppers than the Filipino way. That said, the food here is really good, the couple who owns the restaurant are very sweet and nice, and the menu is varied enough to provide plenty of choices plus they seem to always have daily specials. Portions however are not huge, which was a little surprising since at many Filipino restaurants portions really are plus my Guamanian friends always seem to cook simply too much of everything. However, you still get your money's worth regardless. I highly recommend the Chamorro empanadas which differ a fair amount from the Latin American version. read more

I had high expectations after hearing about this place for such a long time but alas, it hit me as just being sufficient. The food wasn't bad but I've learned that prices have increased and portions have decreased. Not a good combination but I understand that a business needs to turn a profit. I came for the short ribs and flavor was ok but execution seemed a little lackluster. I wished I had dined here a while back as maybe today was an off day.
