I'm sorry I was not here for lunch because the barbecue menu for lunch looks terrific. We also had two huge, blueberry pancakes. Also good. The staff were also very friendly.

Lots of trucks, trade and pickups, family sedans, and a van or two. This is a small place with a cafeteria style setup, plastic trays and utensils, and lines can form during peak times. They serve country cooking meat and 2 plates, sandwiches, and of course, pork barbecue., which is what brought me here. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but the chopped pork was not good at all, it tasted old, stale, almost as if it had been frozen previously. It is pulled pork, not chopped, much like Prissy Polly's in Kernersville. There is a mild, vinegar based sauce on it, but there is also a Lexington stylre sauce available, but it did not help what I was served. It was Thursday, and this means Chicken & Dumplings here, and this dish was excellent. Thet also serve sandwiches, including burgers and a decent hot dog. I'll probably give the pork another shot if opportunity arises, but what I had yesterday was just not good.

You order at the counter, and the food is then delivered to your table. I ordered the two-egg breakfast plate with my eggs sunny-side up, with grits (hash browns were also an option) and sausage. I also ordered two buttermilk pancakes. The sunny-side-up eggs were perfectly cooked. I put one egg over the grits and the other on the pancakes, then broke the yolks -- it was delicious. The yolk mixed nicely with the perfectly made grits and fluffy pancakes. It is a small place and was crowded with regulars, which gave it a welcoming neighborhood feel. I am going back to try other plates -- I noticed several people ordering the catfish, and it looked excellent.

Nothing is made from scratch, in house and was all little to no flavor. Perhaps this is why salt shakers were the only seasoning on each table. No hot sauce, no hot peppered vinegar, not even black pepper. Just salt. Fried chicken was your standard Sysco/Bulk pre-breaded run of the mill, drop into fryer and keep hot variety. The mashed taters n gravy were instant and of the cheapest bulk commercial variety as well, and the Mac & cheese? I knew it when I saw it but it was the only other decent side available as my first pick of fried okra was not available. For $25 for two people, I'd hit a Bojangles or Popeyes instead of coming here and actually feel full. Darn shame as I'd had high expectations for this mom & pop place, and truly wanted a real-deal Southern soul food meal which this was absolutely not. Maybe their breakfast options are actually made in-house and better? They would need to do so AND be open by 5 AM if they want to profit rapidly and substantially on the ever-increasing commuter to and from Raleigh transplants because the supper choices? Definitely not Granville County's finest. I'd suggest the owners of The Wilton Grill go work for a week from open to close at Apple Market up near South Boston to see how breakfast, lunch and supper is done. I'll try breakfast if and when they are open for wee hours and the planets align, but I doubt I will come here again for lunch or supper unless there's some soul and seasoning slapped into and on the menu. This was on point with elementary school lunch foods. I will say the styrofoam plates and cups, plastic forks, cup lids and straws were clean. They do accept Apple and Google pay, they also give you the option to tip which, lol, I'm not sure what for. This place could be a gold mine in the right hands.

Especially since being recommended in the Michelin Guide for the American South. We all opted for the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. We tried the ceviche, birria dumplings, ham as à la plancha, spring asada, churros and capirotada. Every course was excellent and the asada was some of the best steak I have ever had. Also did the wine pairings and they were excellent. I opted for the Cava Rose, Albariño, rioja, Cabernet and Amaro Nonino. Foods paired very well with these options. This was my second time here and second time having the gambas, which are always fantastic. Service was excellent and made for a very special evening. I highly recommend! Bonus tip: they are right next door to The Durham Beer Garden where you can enjoy a beer if you have to wait for a table, as we did.

It was too much food for one sitting but I'm not complaining. The butter on the biscuits was amazing for the first course Second course I had the salad. The picked radish was a nice touch but the greens were drowned in the dressing. My friend got the ceviche and was pleasantly surprised by the saltiness added from the caviar. This course she got the gambas over blue corn grits and I went for the duck chilaquiles. Excellent flavor. And the duck was cooked well. I def recommend this for a breakfast forward savory dish- it's served with two over easy eggs. Finally we polished it off with the bread pudding with homemade ice cream and churros. The mango ice cream tastes exactly like a frozen mango. The blackberry on was nice as well. Very fresh. The decor is gorgeous and makes for a cool vibe. Lots of black walls with gold accents and copper insets around the bar. I'll def be back for date night to catch the evening vibes. We sat inside but they also half a full garden area for seating too ( maybe when it's not 102 degrees and humid). Guadalupe was our server and super sweet. We were here chatting and eating for a full three hours and we're never rushed to turn over the table. Love.
