I had another great visit to the Nordic this afternoon and I really enjoyed the buffet. They still have the same great selection of appetizers, meats, seafood including all you can eat lobster, side dishes and a small but nice salad bar. There is also a very bountiful selection of desserts. Today I went with the maple bacon slices and garlic knots as appetizers and both were delicious. For my mains I picked the baked stuffed shrimp and the prime rib. The prime rib was excellent so I actually went back for seconds. I had a baked potato plus a small salad for sides. The maple bacon was very good and since it is kind of hard to find in restaurants I went ahead and got a couple of more slices of it to top off my dinner. Their dessert bar has so many different offerings that it wasn't easy to decide on what I wanted but I ended up picking a slice of carrot cake along with a brownie plus a dollop of whipped cream to add to the brownie. One of the things I like about their dessert bar is that the servers there give you the option of only getting a half slice of their cakes which is great because that way you're saving room to try even more of their options instead of getting too full from just one thing. It's really the best way to go and you will get to try more of their delicious desserts that way. They have plenty of options here for food and no one ever leaves hungry. We arrived almost an hour earlier than our scheduled reservation but they were nice enough to let us sit down and start dining right away. And we were all hungry when we got there so it was nice that they let us dig in early. We had Josh as a server and he was a pleasure to deal with. He is very attentive and helpful. He even gave my mother some good tips on cracking the lobsters and getting the meat out more easily which was very much appreciated. He was great as far as clearing plates, refilling beverages and making sure we were satisfied with our meals. A very good worker and a skilled waitperson. I stopped into the gift shop after the meal and they had a nice beer glass with their Nordic logo on it as a gift to me for dining with them during my birthday week. The outdoor grounds were nice to hang out and relax for a while before the drive back to Boston. They have benches and hammocks set up plus it was great to see the live animals such as horses and alpacas that they have on the property. Thirteen years later and I made it. A first trip for the three of us to the ocean state of Rhode Island. The first stop and the grounds are great. Love to walk around after the meal. Enter to pay and directed to the arch to be seated. It was filled, demonstrative of the experience. The placemat provides the direction to find the cuisine. I can't say anything bad about this place. The service - A+ The atmosphere - A+ The food - A+++++++ You can tell everyone loves working here and they are treated so well. Our waitress Stacy is on her 24th year and we saw Mandy who waited on us the past 2 years prior. My boyfriend beat his record 4 lobsters and 25 bacon wrapped scallops. I opted for 1 lobster and tons of crab legs. And the stuffed mushrooms are delish. But let's not forget we always get a coffee milkshake after dinner and before we hit the dessert bar. The Nordic Lodge has been on our foodie bucket list for a long time, so we finally made the trip out for Father's Day this year! The price per person is a hefty one, but in our opinion it was worth it for the array of options and quality. We were so impressed and definitely didn't leave hungry! The high rate of turnover kept the food hot and fresh, and even the desserts were impressive. Though you only get two hours to dine here, we never felt rushed, and our server was super attentive on refilling drinks and clearing out dirty plates. We made the trip from Churchville New York because we saw this eating establishment on one of the many food channels that we probably watch way too much. As you enter the restaurant you will notice a pin map on the wall that will indicate that we are not the only people that have sought this place out. I stand with my prior review despite the manager's response we waited 2 HOURS! Check when the buzzer was assigned until seated. I said nothing negative about the service or the staff, they were over staffed. Nothing negative about the food, there was a very large assortment. What I said about the different dining areas was you leave the buffet walk through the dining room across the waiting area to get to tables, eat while guest waiting look on. Walking to the restaurant was beautiful. The scenery was gorgeous and green. Once inside and you paid prior to eating ( which was better to me than afterwards) they give you a buzzer to let you know when your seats were available. The back of the property had a live jamming band and chairs to sit and have a drink or just relax prior to eating. The food was super fresh I just had lobsters and crab legs mainly! Delicious. It's been ages since I've had all-you-can-eat crab legs and The Nordic doesn't disappoint. All of the other food items were well prepared and delicious. Most notable though is the staff. For such a popular and busy establishment, they were kind and engaging to all of their patrons. When you're finally done with your food coma inducing meal, there's hammocks all around the property. Came here right at opening time on a Saturday and was promptly seated. This is my second time here and it is still quite the experience. My advice? Get here early to avoid the inevitable rush that comes later on. The property is beautiful with hammocks, animals and a pond dotting the area. Great place to take a stroll after your meal! At $140 per person (for adults as of 7/2025) this is probably the most expensive buffet there is, but the food quality cannot be beaten! My favorites are the lobster (of course) as well as the prime rib which was cooked to perfection. They have a large assortment of other seafood items all of which were delicious. I highly recommend their clam chowder and lobster bisque (which be warned is extremely rich!). There is a ton of staff around and they're all extremely professional and friendly. Our plates were changed out quickly! My advice? If you like a more relaxed setting, I'd take a table at the front of the restaurant (where the windows are) as you'll avoid the inevitable rush of people if you sit in the main dining area (the benefits of which are quick access to the buffet). Their policy requires you to Pre-Pay, in order to be added to the waiting list for a table, which I personally found to be an offensive policy and not a welcoming experience on our 1st visit. I will say, I did not try any of the seafood, but the food I did try was average at best. I cannot recommend this restaurant, based solely on the food I tried - at a cost of $145.00 per person. We recently went to The Nordic for my husband's birthday and had a great time. I had always heard about this legendary buffet, but this was my first time dining there. I will say overall it did live up to the hype! Endless fresh shucked oysters, crab legs, lobsters, and clams! What's not to love?! They also have a whole grill room with prime rib, rib eye, etc. The dessert area was also super impressive even though I was already so full. We went on a Saturday in May, arrived a little after 4pm and were seated without a wait. I wasn't sure what to expect since they don't take reservations for smaller parties on the weekend. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking around, checking out the animals, and sitting by the fire pit after dinner. OMG!! You will not be disappointed with this buffet. The food was delicious, hot (where appropriate) and plentiful! I really enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp, the grilled steak and the scallops. Many in my group loved the endless lobster. The dessert bar was another good stop. My suggestion is that you get there early, when they open Friday evening. We didn't need a reservation and thank goodness, because the line grew shortly after we got in. Again, can't say it enough, go early, you'll be glad you did. Heard a lot of people around Connecticut talking about this place so I decided to make a day trip out to see what it was all about. I was impressed with the outside, very well kept plants and grass, nice seating areas for waiting. Inside the restaurant felt/looked dated. We were greeted and got to sit immediately, we got there around 1:15. It wasn't long before it got full and people were waiting, so if you don't want to wait I recommend getting there as early as possible. The staff were excellent. Everyone was super helpful and nice. I haven't had service like that in the North East, it was reminiscent of the kind of service I'm used to back home in Charleston, SC. The food...well it was hit or miss. For the price, I was kind of expecting something more impressive. The lobster was decent. Candidly I'm not the biggest lobster fan so maybe I'm not the best judge. The lobster Mac and cheese was actually a surprise hit. The crab legs were also great. Both in size and taste. I could have skipped the lobster all together and just don't the crab legs. The grill room was mostly empty doing my time there, and I can see why now that I've had a taste. The prime rib was bland and grey. I thought maybe I was crazy, since nothing else they served was bland or even cooked poorly, but this seemed to be their fault. I wish I had skipped it altogether and used my time and stomach space for something better. The variety is decent, mostly seafood with some salad and some more "traditional" options. I appreciate the focus on seafood as it seems to be what they are best at. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but i found the steak station to be a weak spot this trip. I haven't been in probably 8 years, but at its core this place has stayed steady. The people are amazing, I never lacked for anything the whole time I was there. I'm in awe of what it must take to stay on top of such a busy establishment as this. The ambiance is solid hunting lodge, with plenty of space for everyone to get where they need to go, and an impressive lobster tank. So much of the food is top notch, which is why I was sad that the filet mignon was grainy and flavorless. Years ago I recall having some of the best steak here, and that's been lost. I tried four of the side salads too (mussel, calamari, lobster, and seaweed), with the seaweed salad being the only good one. The ribs, the corn, lobster mac and cheese, these were all great. The hidden gem was the desserts. Airy milkshakes, tart gooseberries and lemon bars, delectable lobster tails, and a mousse cup in a tiny chocolate shell. I had taken my boyfriend for his birthday to The Nordic Lodge. The food at The Nordic was amazing. I was so excited "like Elmo". I didn't eat any carbs. I started with a full plate of raw oysters and my 2nd plate was a whole lobster and snow crablegs. My focus was the raw oysters and crablegs. I left nothing behind. All the food was fresh and delicious. We arrived 15 minutes before they were to open at 2 pm. All the staff was awesome and our waiter was Pete. He was very attentive to our needs. I also saw how he was with other patrons. When the patrons got up there was a Nordic team that would get the floor and tables cleaned. They have a great system for getting you seated quickly. The ambiance is so welcoming. The grounds are meticulous. They had more than enough seating around the fire pit. I was able to take pics of the horses. I think they stricked a pose for me. When we took a break from eating. The lake and surrounding grounds were so calming and relaxing. I went back for 2nd and 3rd's. If you want to experience the all you can eat seafood buffet. Came with my family-party of 5. Booked reservations for a Sunday to celebrate my daughters birthday. We absolutely loved it. The location, the grounds were absolutely wonderful and very serene. We were welcomed by the host, wait staff, & we had a wonderful & super attentive waitress. So much to choose from and everything was absolutely fresh and delicious-steamed Lobster, clams, oysters, crab legs, jumbo shrimp etc.... They go through about 5000 lbs of lobter every weekend. The setting, restaurant, and ambience is indeed as praiseworthy as all of the food bloggers on youtube have described. At first, one may snarl at the price per person. But what I do like about this, is it includes the drinks and tips. So there was no extra costs associated after the now $140 per person flat rate unless you buy alcohol. So was the price worth it? Yes, I'd say so. The food was delicious, and the whole never frozen lobsters is something that I don't think any other buffet offers in the US. I definitely feel I got my money's worth. The Nordic is a family owned establishment located in Rhode Island. I went with a group on a bus trip and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees some animals on the side and water on all the side of the restaurant. Once you're done eating, you're free to check out the grounds. They also have a few fire pits to sit at and enjoy. The restaurant was relatively busy for early on a Saturday afternoon, but I quickly noticed how many people were smiling as they eat their food and just very happy to be there. The restaurant itself is on the older side, mostly wood tables and chairs. There's a big bar when you enter the restaurant and the design for going to get your food. Takes you through different parts of the restaurant to pick up what you would like to eat. The seating is relatively close together, which makes it a challenge to get out of your seat to go and get more food. However, it gives you all more reason to get what you want and bring it back to the table so you have it and you don't have to get up again. The server who is also named Cortney was friendly and very attentive to our group once everyone was seated from the bus, we got up to get our food. The seafood lines took a bit longer, but understandably that seafood is what's most popular. There are so many sides desserts, and other food items to choose from. It's good to go with a plan! We had two hours to eat and everything was delicious. It's easy to fill up. I would definitely go back again if in the area for another delicious meal. read more

TN restaurant is located in a large property with beautiful views all around specially the lake. Patrons have the choice to choose eating at the restaurant or by lake. The restaurant is for the buffet option, the lake is a la carte with limited options. We chose a la carte, there was no waiting for seating or service. TN opens for dinner, we arrive on time when they opened and the waiting time for a table was 1:30. While waiting for the table people play volleyball or cornwhole. There are plenty of photo opportunities for the memories. The property is well kept, kudos to management. The food is delicious and garnished/great presentation. The service was great, Nic was our server. Nic was knowledgeable and nice. Appetizers, entree, dessert, drinks, all good. I'll echo the sentiment of the hundreds of reviews already available, the food, the service, and the beautiful grounds all make this one amazing food destination that everyone should try at least once. This was my first time here, and in full transparency, I'm not a seafood lover, so it never really made sense for me to visit before today. Today we came as a small group to celebrate a few birthdays, an anniversary, and Mother's Day the staff was friendly and efficient with getting us checked in and seated. It was very convenient to pay at the door before making our way to the dining room and the cashier let us know we could pay individually, in pairs, or as one larger group - it was easy to split the check the way we wanted! Each member of our group made their way through the various stations and everyone had their own personal strategy on where to start. Since I don't eat most types seafood I started in the grill room, where I got a grilled fillet, teriyaki sirloin tips, and a slice of prime rib, all on one plate! I just couldn't decide. I then tried a coffee shake that was made with Hagen Das ice cream and half and half - making the shake thick and creamy. I finished my meal with having a plate of fresh fruit, which ranged from berries to dragon fruit. The rest of my group piled their plates high with crab legs and lobsters and everyone enjoyed their meal. I was *slightly disapointed* that I didn't have room to try their salad bar or sundae bar because they both looked amazing and had so many options to choose from. The per person price ($135) isn't just for the food, it helps maintain the immaculate grounds and pay for the dozens of hardworking team members who make sure your visit is fun and memorable. The one thing I wish I would have asked about is what they do with all of their shells and food scrap waste. I wonder if it makes its way to a compost or farm because I've heard that lobster and crab shells are good for soil. I went here on the last day it was open for the season. It was crowded, but the quality was still great. This place is expensive and I recall paying 116 or 125 per person, but the amount of food you get and the unlimited crab and lobster does make it up. You would think that having unlimited crab legs and lobster would affect the quality of the seafood, but no, the seafood is fresh and packed with meat. You definitely have to set up a game plan coming here... start with seafood and meat. Other standouts included the clam chowder which was not stingy with the clam meat. Lobster bisque, which was also not stingy on the lobster meat and was nice and rich along with the lobster mac & cheese, which was chefs kiss. Open from mid-April to mid-December and closed for winter. This was a nice less than 3 hr. drive from New York City, we chose Mystic CT as our spot for the weekend and it was a 40 min. drive to Charlestown, RI. Immaculate property, huge parking spot, the warmest staff! We've fasted at least 24 hours before we went here thinking I could eat more lobsters but I only had 4! Strategically enjoyed just all the seafood and prime rib to stay low carb but couldn't resist having a coffee shake for dessert! For $135 per adult with maximum dining time of 2 hrs., I'd say it was absolutely worth it, especially when you're celebrating special events! I starting going to The Nordic around 1985. I can recall seeing a buffet that was indescribable - salad bar, prime rib, scallops, shrimp, crab legs, clams, and ALL the lobsters you could eat! On my first visit I ate 6 lobsters. The price back then was about $28 each. I went again a couple years later ($32) and a few years later ($38). Last time I checked it was up to $110... but today it's $145 each. As much as I love lobsters, steak, and seafood, they have overpriced themselves. You can't eat your money's worth anymore. For our anniversary my fiancé decide to take me to The Nordic. This has been a bucket list item for me forever! We went on a Sunday made a reservation for 2pm and prepaid. We got an email a few days before stating we could come earlier like 1:30pm as they were anticipating a busy 2pm. We weren't sure how beach traffic was gonna be heading up so left a little early. We arrived just when they opened and they were able to seat us at 1pm. We opted to sit on the side with the view which was nice to not be in the buffet room. Our server Hannah was great. Explained everything to us. Made sure we had refills and emptied our table bowl frequently. I ended up having 3 lobsters, king crab, fried seafood and prime rib. Everything was great. I chose to stop back by to pick them up, so since I was there I enjoy there great food once again.......However I wanted to give an amazing shout-out to the server "Courtney" she gave absolutely amazing service to a guest sitting next to me. it was an older lady who was having difficulty with her lobster and she stopped and to the time to de-shell her lobster for her. My husband took me here for my birthday. It was his first time not mine. Everything about this place is amazing. We tried exotic fruit that we never had, lobster fritters, prime rib and so much more deliciousness. I got a free glass for my bday. The pineapple mojito is a must have. read more
