Stay away from this place! We were new in town and wanted to try steak. The woman in the take out booth recommended Churrasco. She said the manu price is only for kids size. So we ordered full size dish for $30 . We waited 30 minutes and when we came back we got 2 thin pieces of meat with a scoop of rice&beans and yucca. See the picture! I am still hungry after finishing it . We recommend the take out place next door inside the Sedano's . At least they won't keep you hungry after a meal. read more

This restaurant is very delicious. I got a fried fish filet with a Cesar salad & french fries. My parents both got a grilled chicken breast with white rice & black beans, my mom with vegetables & my dad with a Cesar salad. We all got fresh frozen lemonade. Visited Florida to one of my favorite restaurants (pre-COVID) and was really disappointed to come back. I got Lechon Asado (pulled) with a side and maduros, rice and beans. The rice and beans were good and so was the Lechon Asado (but it's not the pulled stringy version I was expecting and wanting). The plantains were so small. It almost wasn't worth them putting it on my plate. I also feel that they used to give more rice. My sister and mom got the special fried fish and veggies and the veggies were quite obviously frozen. Bad. Their fish also was not very good, I think it was too greasy for them. Overall they both were not very satisfied with their food. Service was ok, the girl at the end kind of didn't check on us as much but I didn't mind it too much. For me, I was pretty disappointed to see the difference between a couple of years. It's now just meh for me and I'm not sure if I'd go back, or atleast not get the same thing. The café con leche was good though! read more

if you're looking for authentic Cuban old country food, generous portions, reasonable prices this is the spot. The best tamal en cazuela in Miami, I've had others, and this one by far is better tasting more of shucked corn than others, with big chunks of succulent, pork, their croquettes are handmade/home taste. this family restaurant by far exceeds all my Cuban cuisine expectations and now I must tell you about the rum flan, you have never tasted anything like it and never will, I promise, you you will come back for more! read more

Mario's was recommended to us so we decided to give it a whirl. We came in on a Friday night, asked to sit outside, and were sat right away. Our server brought us bread and waters right away. She was very friendly and helped us with the menu. We started with the yuca rellena. It was very crispy and delicious. Then we ordered the Cameron's enchilados with a side of sweet plantains and rice and beans. The shrimp was super and the creole sauce was perfect. We also ordered the churrasco balsero con camarones. Sooo good! The last entree was the palomilla- it was good, but not our favorite. Our favorite side was definitely the sweet plantains. They were perfect!! The one problem was that the outdoor eating area allowed smoking. Not very appetizing to smell cigarette smoke instead of our meals. read more

Visited Marios during our recent trip to Everglades. This place was open earlier as compared to other restaurants so we chose to dine in here. There were loads of cars parked and we saw many people dine in so we thought the food might be good and this maybe a local fav. Wrong. You can read further to know why. For appetizers, we got the chicken empanadas. These were definitely not fresh and seemed microwaved. If you make fresh empanadas they have to be crispy. Microwaved empanadas do turn soft and thats what was served to us. We also got the queso frito with guava sauce. This was decent but deep fried cheese soaked in oil was served. Still this was one of the better dishes we had. We then ordered the cubano sandwich and the shrimp in cajun creole sauce with a side of white rice and fries. This dish was decent. The sauce was watery dint have much flavor but was better than the cubano sandwich my husband ordered. The cubano sandwich had zero flavors. No sauce was added to the sandwich. The bread was not even toasted. They just dumped some tomatoes lettuce ham steak in between 2 slices of bread and served it with potato sticks. Absolutely flavorless and inedible. We left the cubano sandwich just after a bite. Homestead is a small town so finding good places to eat can be a challenge. But my experience at Marios was not good. read more

I really loved everything I tried, my sons Cuban sandwich was great loved the sweet bread they use. The ox tail stew was fantastic meat fell off the bone great flavor. My fried pork was amazing the yellow sauce they provide for it was great. The tostones and black beans were great. I loved their yuca frita the garlic aoli dipping sauce was fantastic. The cafe con leche was good now I understand why they give you so much milk the coffee was very good. We also ordered the tres leches for dessert which was fantastic, I love the evaporated milk they use for the sweetness. Definitely a great spot for Cuban food. read more

Food is always good. Our server Dilia refused to substitute hash browns for bacon even after I asked her to please ask the manager she told me she wouldn't ask the manager. She never once checked on our table after the food came out and I had to get her coworker to get us our check. If you're looking for some delicious and affordable Cuban food, this is the best spot in Homestead. Everything from the chicken to the bistec is fantastic. There is a variety of natural juices to chose from as well, such as passion fruit, mango, watermelon, the list goes on. There are yummy desserts as well, the flan with rum mixed into it....infinite stars. The service is good, the servers are attentive and always checking in. I love coming here with my family for dinner to spend some quality time together. Unfortunately, every time I've come the phone did not eat first and I've failed to take any pictures. Stopped by Mario's on our way to Key West for and early morning breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed the Cafe con Leche and Cafe Cubano to perk up sleepy eyes. Breakfast items we enjoyed were the omelette with chorizo. We got a couple side items like potato balls filled with meat. These are really good! Enjoyed the flan for a sweet treat for breakfast too. They have a takeout window which is really handy if you're in a hurry. Highly recommend eating here for good eats! read more

This was extremely disappointing. The waitress kept walking by us. we sat there for over 20 minutes before she acknowledged us, and the place was not even full. They charged me almost $3 for a tiny micro cup of coffee, and I had to ask 3 times to get a cup of water. They ask you if you want bread instead of immediately bringing it. I ordered a shredded pork, and instead, I got pork cubes and.when I questioned it, they said that was their version of shredded. I grew up eating Cuban food and this just ain't it. Sister and I got masas de cerdo and the pallomilla. I got veggies and congris, she got sweet plantains and congris. My veggies seemed to be from a mixed frozen bag steamed, no seasoning. Congris is fantastic and the steak had decent flavor and quality, big size, but could have used more garlic and a better sear. Came with no grill marks or crust. Took up the whole plate...and it was seasoned so well. Fried plantains are always good, and these were no exception. But the beans...oh man, these beans is where it is at! Initially I was brought a small cup of beans. When I ran through those, I asked for another side of beans. What I received was a ridiculous amount of beans, and I enjoyed every minute of trying to eat all of them. The meal was fantastic. Why the 3 stars? Tourism tax. The meal was 16 bucks, totally worth it. State sales tax was 1.16. That I can handle. But a tourism tax on top of all of that? In an area that is NOT touristic?? Thats pure bs. I picked this place based on the reviews on Yelp before leaving Homestead. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the reviews. The cappuccino was very good and was a promising start. I ordered the Cubano Especial. This is a very generous portion. This fell flat for me because the shredded pork didn't have any flavor and there was very little. This was mainly a ham sandwich. Lots of ham and very little flavor. The shoe string fries were a nice touch. The congris was also very bland, just rice and black beans. This was like cafeteria food.
