The food was decent, but the three drawbacks for me were the deceptive credit card fee disclosure, limited street parking, and quantity for the price. Heads up to people that there is a 4% card fee. The sign says very specifically in handwriting that the fee is 3.87% and when asked about it, the staff said oh the machine just rounds up. The heck is the sign so specific to the number then can't just state 4%, which is high either way. Also, got the lomo saltado and more than half the container was rice. Rotisserie chicken was good. What I Ordered: -Combo Meal #2 1/4 Chicken w/Rice, French Fries & Soda $18.07 I've been craving rotisserie chicken for a while, and I'm not a fan of Costco's, which is a shame since we go there often. I had a few other places in mind, but I recently read an Eater LA article touting this decades-old, Peruvian, wood-fired rotisserie chicken spot as having the best in LA. I knew I had to try it before anything else. Pollos El Brasero isn't close, but I was heading to work in Santa Monica and decided to stop in. The staff made recommendations, but I was determined to try the rotisserie chicken. The gentleman at the register suggested the Combo Meal #2 (1/4 chicken with rice, fries, and soda) since I was hungry, and I definitely was! They brought the food to my table, and it was incredibly fast; it arrived within five minutes. I was impressed with the portion size for the price. I was a little disappointed that the chicken wing was slightly burnt. I do enjoy a good char, but burnt food isn't my favorite. I was a bit hesitant to ask for a new piece, so I ate it anyway, as it was only a small part. The chicken skin was perfectly seasoned and flavorful! I was impressed by how moist and tender the chicken was. It came with a generous serving of white rice and french fries, both of which I would order again. The fries were excellent, seeming double-fried with the perfect amount of crunch. The portion size for the price was a great deal, and it even included a soda. I chose Inca Kola, a Peruvian golden cola, which is a nice touch as restaurants usually charge extra for imported sodas. I appreciate them including it with the Combo Special. I regret not ordering more chicken; it was that good! I considered getting more, but I was too full. I'll definitely be back to try the half chicken next time. I've tried two other Pollo a la brasa spots in LA, and this place has the best aji verde, especially if you like spice. Definitely get extra green sauce! I'd like to try the salad and beans next time. I'll definitely ask for extra sauce. They offer a red sauce and a green sauce; the green, aji verde, has a nice kick, while the red has a sweeter flavor. I will definitely be back to enjoy this delicious rotisserie chicken! read more

My husband got the bright idea to dine here on our way to Disney Concert Hall. In theory, not bad, but in reality -- it did not work. After ordering, we were told that at 6:30 PM (a half an hour prior to shutting) -- eating in was closed. Their 8 tables were filled with customers eagerly waiting their food. We actually managed to get a spot in the tiny parking lot -- a real score. We left with our food shocked by the inhospitable attitude of the manager. We ended up with a picnic at Disney Hall. The rotisserie chicken tasted super moist with a kick. The green sauce added even more spice. The rice and fries helped cool the burn. The side salad made for a well rounded meal with lettuce beets and carrots. The plantains were amazing. Love this place! My personal opinion, they have the best Peruvian Rotisserie chicken in LA. County. They literally cook the chicken in a wood fire oven! The marination in the chicken is made to perfection. I loooooove their chicken! The chickens skin is lightly crispy on the outside but the inside meat is moist and falls right off the bone. Their beans are flavorful and not overly seasoned, the salad has lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber and beets with their vinaigrette dressing. Their fries are fresh and made to eat right away. They also have the famous Peruvian dish "Lomo Saltado" that is hands down, one of my favorites as well. They cook each order of Lomo Saltado behind the counter and can be watch the cooks make it. It's very satisfying to watch and then eat! Sooooo good! Their Lomo Saltado is a 10/10 Juan and his team are always nice and honest. We had to wait 30min one time because they had a very huge order but this chicken and Lomo Saltado are well worth it. The place is small, usually it gets crowded, I wouldn't say it's the best place for big groups but if you want good Peruvian food, you'll have to make some seating arrangements Street parking is available. read more

**Postmates order during covid** Initial note for honesty: We were craving Pollo a la brasa but they don't deliver thru any apps and this place did and looked very simlair so we gave it a shot. This is my review mostly IN COMPARISON TO POLLO A LA BRASA (abbreviated PALB below): Order: * Half chicken with double fries (4/5) * 2x chicken soup (aguadito) (4/5) Chicken is the same fire rotisserie style and great flavor. The one we got was a tad dry but I realize had I been next in line maybe I would have got a less dry chicken (it's a toss up). Most of our previous orders from PALB are consistently "not dry." Both places are good. Fries are IDENTICAL. Real potato, not super crispy or salty but still good. The main two difference between this place and PALB imo is the GREEN SAUCE and the SOUP. Personally I prefer the green sauce at PALB but that could be because it was the first I had and am just "used to it." The bass is the same but I think this sauce is a little less flavorful and flavor isn't as deep as PALB. Still good, just not as good to me. Second is the soup. This place gives you what seems like a full 1/4 chicken INSIDE the soup which is awesome!!! PALB on the other hand gives you the leftover chicken "pieces" which I so elegantly call "ugly chicken" and you may get random bones/hard bits in your soup. Defintely less (and lower quality) chicken in the PALB soup. However, I think the FLAVOR of the PALB soup is better. It taste more like the Peruvian aromatics and less like straight up chicken broth. Pollo el Brasero's soup is good but defintely tatses more like "American chicken noodle soup" (bc the brothy is just so "chickeny"). Lastly (this is totally personal preference) I like the PALB soup bc the veggies are cut smaller where Pollo el Braso has the bigger chunky veggies. If you like bigger veggies and a more chicken flavored broth then the Pollo el braso is totally up your alley! read more

I had both the Lomo saltado, and their pollo (chicken) and I can 100% confirm that they were DELICIOUS! We came during the pandemic for takeout and the food actually kept very well! The chicken was full of flavor and super juicy. I would suggest if you get it with fries, ask to get the fries in a separate container because the heat from the chicken made them a little soggy for my taste. We actually had the lomo saltado the day after, and it kept fantastically well! All the complex sweet and salty flavors! If you've never had lomo, I think this is a good place to start! Overall, I would personally come here again for the pollo and have that as fresh as possible. If the other meals they have are as good as their Lomo, then I'll be checking those out as well!
