Pollo A La Brasa and salad

Love this place! My personal opinion, they have the best Peruvian Rotisserie chicken in LA. County. They literally cook the chicken in a wood fire oven! The marination in the chicken is made to perfection. I loooooove their chicken! The chickens skin is lightly crispy on the outside but the inside meat is moist and falls right off the bone. Their beans are flavorful and not overly seasoned, the salad has lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber and beets with their vinaigrette dressing. Their fries are fresh and made to eat right away. They also have the famous Peruvian dish "Lomo Saltado" that is hands down, one of my favorites as well. They cook each order of Lomo Saltado behind the counter and can be watch the cooks make it. It's very satisfying to watch and then eat! Sooooo good! Their Lomo Saltado is a 10/10 Juan and his team are always nice and honest. We had to wait 30min one time because they had a very huge order but this chicken and Lomo Saltado are well worth it. The place is small, usually it gets crowded, I wouldn't say it's the best place for big groups but if you want good Peruvian food, you'll have to make some seating arrangements Street parking is available.

Amazing chicken wow I'm so impressed. The flavor is definitely there and their salsas are just so delicious. Best chicken in town

Love the chicken, fries, and rice. Very good! They're quick and fast to make our food. Service is friendly and excellent. Ambiance is pretty good as well.

Rotisserie chicken is probably a weekly staple in my life so I'm always checking out some chicken place. This one was on my radar and finally went. I spent $60 cuz I wanted to try the family meal with every side (rice, beans, salad, fries) with the Miraflores in the end. Pretty darn good. Establishment very low key but know how to make chicken! My grandparents, sister and kiddo enjoyed it very much. Will be on my rotating chicken list lol.

Not as juicy as I assumed it would be from the recent video review online, I've had much much better chicken and I didn't have to go into a sketchy place that was 500° inside, but I'm not taking points off for the heat inside and interior/exterior/neighborhood. (Definitely don't take your girl here for a nice time together) The saving grace is the good outside flavoring on the chicken but again I've had way better so I would give this a 2/5 considering ONLY the chicken sides and sauces, if I were to rate the establishment as a whole, you don't wanna know. The guys in the kitchen were nice though, they let me wash my hands in the kitchen since someone was using the bathroom for an eternity.

My set up- salad was something I added!

Picked up my order and this place did not disappoint (no parking though, street parking is hard too). Got the family meal: whole chicken with rice and beans for $35. The chicken was super moist and flavorful, the rice wasn't all that but the beans were super delicious!! I can eat that with tortilla chips and I would be freaking happy! Would definitely come back here. Fast and friendly service.

    Full chicken and rice

Great food, and fairly priced. Very clean restaurant. I got the full chicken and rice, the rice was very good, i think they marinated the rice with spices. The chicken was perfect, breast was juicy and not dry. Great overall

Best Arroz Chaufa in Los Angeles hands down. This restaurant is a hidden treasure near downtown that specializes is Peruvian cuisine. The best thing about eating in or waiting for your food is you can see the staff at work. My usual is the Arroz Chaufa de Pollo which is basically fried rice with chicken and green onion. They serve it with a homemade verde sauce that gives the dish a gigantic splash of spicy flavor. They also serve a delicious rotisserie style chicken that's a must have as well. Please go enjoy this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. Food is delicious and people are attentive. The restaurant is always clean and airy. I've had all the menu at some point and I could eat here every day. Portions are good and price is reasonable. 10/10

Fresh cut fries! First timer beware these are just PLAIN CUT POTATO FRIES (not crispy, not salty) but they work

The Peruvian food is still as good now as it was then. I ordered the Aquadito de Pollo which is a chicken soup with a distinct herbal flavor. There is plenty of tender chicken in the soup. Rosty seems to make an exemplary Saltado de Pollo. The Chicha Morada was refreshing with the meal. I would return to Rosty if I am in the area again. I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back. If I'm in the area and craving their chicken, I'd absolutely return--just with different expectations regarding the seating situation and service.

A must-go restaurant. Read on for deep dive stuff or if you love a good novel... Vibe - is casual, but in a sexy and a solid-date-spot way. The atmosphere is fun and colorful in unexpected ways, and every team member we interacted with was really, really nice and seemed genuinely dedicated and excited to be there. Food & Founder - The chef/founder is **world-famous** and the taste, quality, and depth/breadth of the menu reflects this. Don't even get me started on the flavors. I heard that he named it "the hummingbird" because when he was growing up in Peru, he would be like a hummingbird, going from experience to experience, picking up knowledge and expertise. I love that. New to Peru - A couple members of our group had never had Peruvian food (including myself!) but we were guided in what to order and all were INCREDIBLE. We were like, jumping in head-first, trying dishes that rewarded us with outstanding flavors and SUPER fresh ingredients. Peruvian Pros & Overall - I've seen a lot of reviews and social media from dedicated Peruvian food enthusiasts, experts etc. who all highly recommend The Hummingbird. So we know they love it/approve. And from a newbie to Peruvian food perspective, I too would recommend 100%. Just so impressed and excited that I can't wait to go back. If you made it this far, good for you! And in summary, The Hummingbird is a total gem.

The word of the day is FUNKY…read more 1. Food. It's at best a 4 star. My favorites were the grilled salmon and lomo saltado although both portions fit into the palm of my hand (Well, everything we ordered did so beware - who needs Ozempic when you can go here for dinner?). Ordered a few ceviches (king salmon, yellowtail, scallop) and was not impressed. It was fresh but exceptionally fresh. Flavors were okay, I expected to be more impressed by the fusion but it just felt performative. The quality of the fish does not match the prices they charge. The teas were great but they were also $14 each for like a grande cup portion from Starbucks. Also everything is non alcoholic except some random THC drink and like a beer? Funky. 2. Service. FUNKY AF. I made a reservation for a birthday for a party of 7 (you have to DM them on IG for parties 7+ btw) earlier in the day. They DMd me back saying no problem and changed my reservation to a party of 7 (it was previously at 6, the max). My party gets there at the reserved time. Upon entering, there was no greeting, no welcome. I felt like I entered some secret society where everyone's in on a secret except you. The server (tall male) eventually comes up to us and the first thing he says is that our reservation was changed to 5pm without notice and seemed to be blaming us for the mix up. The Opentable app doesn't even allow me to edit my reservation since edits for parties 6+ are not allowed. It must have been a worker here messing with the reservations and we got caught in the crossfire and they ended up blaming us. The cherry on top was that they never did anything for the birthday person nor even acknowledged his birthday. DO NOT come here for a celebration because your vibes will 100% be killed by the end of the night. The servers here give "I put an ad out on Craigslist and hired whoever showed up". Not sure any of them know what they're doing. We were seated for 15 min with no water. I had to flag them down since they were busy chatting and hanging out. The server with short blonde hair in a ponytail passive aggressively brings us water and then zero cups. Who brings jugs of water with no cups? Then we had to chase them down again to get cups. "Chase" them down since the restaurant is the size of a garage so clearly it was intentional they were not checking in. Everyone had sour attitudes the whole night as if they are not willingly employed here. 3. Ambiance. FUNKY!!! Do NOT be fooled by the videos guys. This place is like a run down, local dive bar trying to serve Michelin food. You can just FEEL the inauthenticity and performativeness of the place. This place is musty. It's on the corner with trash everywhere and a bus stop outside, and no parking so there's your first red flag. There's no central AC so prepare to suffer. They play loud and constantly genre-changing music that makes no sense. I tried to DM them on IG to get them to explain the reservation mix up and avoid writing this review and I'm currently on delivered for 12 hours - although they're quick to respond to a reservation request! I wish I could rewind time and tell my past self to avoid this place at all costs. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND and will never be returning. Holbox in DTLA puts this place to shame. Please go there instead of you're looking for fresh ceviche. The prices they charge actually match the quality of food and service. There are way too many better restaurants in LA for a place like this to continue to be in business. Good luck!
