    Al pastor burrito

I was looking for a mariscos place close to my house. So of course, through a trusty Yelp search, I found this place! It's a small shack on the corner of Beverly and Hay. They have a few tables on the side so you can eat there. We ordered a lot of different items so we could try them. It's owned by a mom and son. And when we got there, it was just the mom by herself. She doesn't speak a lot of English so we were having some trouble understanding each other. But she was so sweet. So that we could understand, she gave us some samples. And that only made us want to try more items. We got 2 fish tacos, 1 shrimp taco, 1 dorados taco, aguachile, shrimp and jaiva tostadas, octopus cocktail and mixed cocktail. Everything was so good. As she was preparing our order, her son came back and she mentioned that he speaks English. He shared with us that they had opened a little over a year and half ago and that business slowly getting more steady. We noticed that they were busy as we were waiting for our order, which is always a good thing. But I'll definitely be coming back since it was very good. And even though there was a language barrier, they still gave excellent service. I always like to support family owned businesses so I'll be back.

Delicious Mariscos The Campechana Levanta Muertos is fully loaded with seafood. The Agua Chile is spicy and good.

Where do I start? This place is very small, they do have an outdoor patio area and it's very well kept and clean. Service was amazing and very friendly. They have very fair prices and more importantly super fresh ingredients. They put their special twist on all of the favorites you get at other marisco spots and they got it right. They have hands down the best aguachile verde! Best in L.A.! Come down and check it out for yourself, I am not embellishing. They have daily special min-thurs. Yup taco Tuesday! Half price fish taco! Found my new favorite marisco spot in LA.

Woo! Gah Damn!! We were craving ceviche and found this spot on Yelp We had the Ceviche Mixta. The plate makes 3 loaded tostadas. This was served with limes and a special in-house salsa, a red hot sauce that is the perfect amount of spice, chef's kiss. In addition to the delicious food, the hospitality was warm, friendly and welcoming. Mom and son owned business that opened 2 years ago. Mom was in the back throwing down! The ambiance was chill. They have a small shaded seating area with pretty tables. We took our food to-go. Best ceviche I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back for more mariscos

I had 1 of each on the taco menu. Rock solid and damn satisfying

We were in the LA area as we went to Crypto Center for a concert and Guisados is conveniently open late, so we skipped dinner just to eat here after our concert. If you're craving truly authentic tacos packed with rich flavor and quality ingredients, this is the spot. We've visited a few different Guisados locations, but this one is always a 10/10 -- consistently delicious food, great service, and you get the full LA vibe since it's right in Boyle Heights. Such an experience! Parking is easy with a lot right across the street. The only downside is that if you go later at night there aren't any bathrooms -- but other than that, it's perfect. Highly recommend the mole taco and the calabacitas taco -- they're my absolute favorites. And don't forget the horchata... SO good and worth the drive. Definitely a must-try!

I didn't know they had agues frescas until afterwards my bestie ordered one - she got cantaloupe. We sat down and caught up on life. We had the place to ourselves. It is a smaller location but with lots of seats and it was very clean. The servers Brought us our food. The food was delicious and surprisingly the portions were bigger than what the photos show. I dont know if I mentioned this in a previous review but the meat portions are typically small. So for them to add a lot of meat ( thank you, I really appreciated it :). The taco was delicious, fresh, full of flavor, not dry nor dull. The only thing missing from the tamal de elote was the crema. But, I forgot to ask for one, so that's on me. I really recommend visiting this location and even supporting Latino/a owned businesses in this community. You won't regret it. I want one now.

It wasn't unusual for me to get a few sandwiches on a weekly basis way back when. I am very happy that Cook's Tortas is still around. I have tried every sandwich on their board. My favorite has always been the Bombero #6. It is grilled tender steak with a red pepper sauce and avocados. The bread is a sourdough Ciabatta style roll which is made fresh daily. One side comes with the sandwich. This time I chose the Ham and Cheese Macaroni Salad. For dessert, I always get Great Grandmother's Corn Cake. Everything tasted very fresh. There was ample beef in the sandwich. The corn cake was not too sweet and the guava jelly on top enhanced the cake well. A pineapple-orange aqua fresca was a good, refreshing beverage accompaniment. Service was very friendly and exemplary. The food was prepared quickly and brought out to me. Prices are much higher now than before; more than doubled so this would be considered a special treat for me if I am in the area.

I'm not kidding when I say I can eat the Ham and Cheese macaroni every single day and sometimes I order just a large bowl of it! I love that you can also upgrade the size of the sides to a bigger bowl. The sandwiches can be pricey, but honestly so worth it because of how big the portions are. Customer service is always top tier! The staff are always so kind and will answer any questions you have. Huge perk that you can also call in ahead of time to place your order and they offer curbside pick up. If you want to dine in, simply order at the cashier and they'll call you when your food is ready. Lots of seating inside and very clean. Free parking lot available too. One only has to look at the cars in their drive-thru and the people in their dining room to see that locals have known well before that Eater LA article came out: the food here is excellent. What I really appreciate about the tacos here is the care with which everything is prepared. Yes, the fish is fried expertly, but the way the cabbage is shredded so fine that a portion of it sits, cloud-like, atop the tacos. The tomatoes are diced the perfect size to add that hit of fresh umami along with sprigs of cilantro for a herbaceous nudge. The fresh garnish of this veggie mix perfectly offsets the richness of their signature crema. As far as Baja fish tacos and potato tacos go, it's a perfect bite of flavors, textures, and temperatures (shredded cheese also comes with the potato tacos dorado) The fillings in both potato and Baja fish tacos are the star -- the flavors of the fish and the mashed potato filling really come through -- but the supporting players in the garnish department add so much to the ensemble. The chile guero, the grilled seasoned yellow chili pepper, are complimentary, but are too spicy for me; I give them to my wife, who loves their spicy kick. This Taco Nazo is on the south side of Garvey, a 30-second drive past Rosemead (going east). The restaurant has been there for a while, but what the property lacks in polish is more than made up with the food, the speedy service, and the bright, clean dining room. For drinks, there's agua frescas behind the counter, a soda fountain in the dining room, and best of all, they serve beer (in bottles). Taco Nazo also offers ceviche and combos with rice and beans, but a few tacos with an agua fresca (or a bottle of Pacifico) is all one really needs to get that ideal Baja fish taco experience.
