I really love all the food here , every dish here is delicious. You won't be disappointed with the food. Also their micheladas are delicious... The one thing that is very disappointing is the service. The waitresses here seem to always be mad or frustrated, they don't smile and it seems like they want you to leave quickly. For some reason it seems like they are upset when you sit their for a while to enjoy a drink. Their staring at you and dogging you. I went a few days ago and we were waiting for one of all the waitresses that where standing by the counter to come to our table since we wanted another drink. Well they never came , wouldn't even acknowledge us, they came and asked other tables around us if they needed anything and never came to ours, I was trying to call them to come and they would pass us by really quickly and look the other way. I had to finally go to the counter and ask the girl to bring me 2 drinks to my table. She was looking at me really ugly, I guess since I had walked up their to the counter. If they would have came and did their job I wouldn't have been up their asking for a drink. Well we drank our drink and again same story, no one ever came to ask if we needed anything, passed our table like 7 times and never stopped at ours. So we had to go get our check in the front and pay up their. It's sad , because the food and drinks are delicious but the service is so bad. It's a small restaurant they should be going to every table at least every 10 minutes to see if people need anything. But like I said it seems like they want us to eat and leave ASAP. Why ? (Who know.) Sometimes I want to ask them if they have a problem with us or what's the situation. Because stopping at every table and not ours was just rude and makes us wonder why. Oh before I forget, the whole time their when we were sitting down no one came over. Like the table was invisible even. But as soon as we got up to go pay up front one of the waitresses went to the table right away. It's like oh , now you see the table. We left a tip, because we are not rude. I rarely leave reviews but due to the audacity of this place I just had to. Service overall was horrible. My order was spicy and when they remade it, the red headed waitress came back with my order and said they were going to charge it again. I refused and told them to just bring my other order back instead. She left and came back with the new order and said that my old order had been tossed and that I could have the new order but that I needed to make sure I said something because I had eaten half of it. I reiterated that the plate was actually pretty full!! When we got the bill there was an extra charge, well these shady ass people charged half of the order!! I happily paid for my food with no issues because I ordered it and ate it! However it was not good! The shrimp tasted horrible. I immediately took it out of my mouth and placed it on a piece of paper. I informed the staff to notify the kitchen for the sake of making sure no one gets sick! It was horrible. The staff was nice . This is one of those mariscos restaurants where the waitresses are only nice to the men and they think that they're going to get tips based on their looks. The only reason why we went back after the first time is the food, we've tried the colichi tostada and the shrimp and they're both very tasty. The decor is typical. We had two different servers. Both girls were nice but the food was horrible. The caldo in the shrimp cocktail tasted like water. I tried adding lemon, ketchup, and salsa and there was no way to fix the flavor. The shrimp and octopus in the cazuelita and the tostada was part chewy and part hard. When we asked why it was so hard we were told that's how octopus is which isn't true. The tostada isn't served on a tostada at all. The fish in the combo we ordered was hard and we were told they had no knives in the restaurant to even cut into it. read more

This place was recommended but was definitely disappointed by a few things. Front area where they take your order was dirty, they were out of oysters and all of their "hot food" items. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, order of aguachiles and 2 toro tostadas to go as all of the dinning room is blocked off. Came home and started prepping the shrimp cocktail when I noticed that the shrimp weren't clean! Ugh nothing worse than seeing the black poop lines in 99% of the shrimp! Second time coming and will definitely keep coming, the El Toro is delicious. Make sure to bring cash they are cash only if not then you have to pull out from their ATM ($2.50 fee) service was pretty good, the ambiance isn't wild they play good music at a decent volume. I would consider this place a little hole in the wall with great mariscos, and even thought Im not extremely big on sea food, this place didn't disappoint. I tried their shrimp tacos, jaiba and fish tostadas and absolutely loved it. Everything was very flavorful and their micheladas are also pretty tasty. The customer service was great too. I asked if I could speak to a manager or supervisor & she kept making excuses to said there isn't anyone. If you want Fresh seafood with Amazing taste, then you need to come visit El Rafa!! Their dishes are so tasty and their seafood is prepared daily. They even make their own salsa that gives the final touch to all dishes. Its truly authentic food.
