Excellent fish tacos! A co worker brought me to lunch here at 10 am on a Friday to beat there rush. This taco truck is located in the back of a liquor store parking lot. They have a porta potty if you need one, lol he order us each a fish taco and shrimp ceviche. The fish taco was higher and tasty. It was dripping with cream sauce and hot sauce I added. I ate the taco so fast I forgot to take a picture. Next we had shrimp ceviche. The shrimp were large and butterflied with sliced red onion and zucchini. It was spicy but just right amount.

If you're in this area and are looking for something cheap, fast and delicious, come grab a fish taco at this food truck. $2 fish tacos! You read that right. And they're pretty darn good too. Tortillas come out warm, great pico on top, tangy sauce on the tacos and flaky beer battered fish. My only complaint is that the fish to batter ratio was off. That batter is thickkkkk. But for $2, can't complain much. The employees are hard working and very friendly. They are generous with the salsas and lime wedges they give you for your tacos. Maybe I'll try something else on the menu next time I'm here! If you're in the area, check this place out.

We headed to Mariscos German Beyer taco truck and ordered the following: seven chilies tacos, Baja fish tacos and crazy special tostada. The seven chilies fish taco appears simple but is a bold-flavored taco packed with plenty of heat. The combination is definitely unique and I like it very much. Baja fish tacos were quite delicious as well and came with ultra-fresh fish that were lightly battered and super crispy. The Crazy special tostada comes with a stack of tostada with a heaping of ceviche of fish, octopus, mussels and a couple oysters. It was a lot of food! We can tell how popular their ceviche is because nearly everyone ordered it. For me, I would definitely order the Seven chilis and Baja fish tacos next time.

One of my friends told me about this food truck and said that I should check it out, so I finally did! They are open until 7pm and there was a big sign saying that it was cash only, but they actually accept cards. I wish I knew that ahead of time, so that I wouldn't be charged a convenience fee for taking money out of the nearby ATM. I didn't know what some of the menu items were, since there was no explanation of what goes into it. A customer overheard me and offered to explain the menu, which helped me make my decision. I ended up getting the aquachile tostada and my fiance ordered the 7 chiles and surf and turf tacos. Too bad they don't offer any fresh drinks, just bottled ones, so we tried the coconut horchata one. It was an interesting combination, but I prefer the regular horchata by itself. While we were waiting for our order, we were given some consumme that was so rich and even had pieces of fish in it. The tacos were huge and my tostada looked so wonderful! Everything tasted great and my aguachile was extremely spicy and very flavorful. The tacos were absolutely delicious- I liked that they give you a lot of fixings/meat/seafood in it as well. The lady working there said you can always call ahead to place your order if you're in a time crunch, so that is really good to know!

Never eating here again!!! I found 2 roaches in my consomé.
    Jen G.

Never eating here again!!! I had ordered some consomé. The day was windy, chilly, and cloudy, so it sounded good. Nice and warm with a little bit of spice. I have to be thankful the consomé was SUPER hot (temperature), and had to blow on it prior to eating. UNFORTUNATELY, I did have about 3-4 spoonfuls before i noticed there we roaches IN MY SOUP. THANKFULLY, i didn't finish the entire cup before finding them. But, it's still not something you'd want to find in your meal. My boyfriend went back to the location, to inform them of our find, and they blamed us for putting the roaches in the soup. Then they tried to say they were flies. No... Those are definitely roaches. They were asked to throw out the pot of soup, which they did, and there were a few more in the actual pot, mixed in with the vegetables. I have eaten here before (several times). The food is usually very good, but i'm never eating here again. Due to their inability to accept responsibility, take action, and blame a customer. If you wouldn't want your family to eat food with roaches or pests in it, why would it be ok to serve that to your customers? They have made my order incorrectly, a few times, but I was willing to overlook that. I usually walk up, place my order, then wait in my car. I usually have my meals to go. Since i live fairly close to this location. But now that i think about it, the truck, and covered area, are actually pretty dirty... I'm sure the truck is a permanent fixture, and kept outdoors. But it's still pretty dirty. Again, something i was willing to overlook, since the food was good, and seemed well made. Food is good... But eat here at your own risk!!

I've been coming here for years, it's really good spot for Mariscos. Favorites are coctel, surf n turf tacos. They only accept cash, so make sure you stop by the ATM before you arrive. There's also a liquor store if you want to take money out from there.

    FISH TACOS
    Jason H.

The best fish tacos I've ever had. If you know me, you know I love tacos. And these were the best fish tacos I've ever had. Honestly, it's everything about the place. The fact that you're six miles from the border, at a little truck, with extremely friendly service, complimentary soup in a styrofoam cup, the fish is fresh and crispy and buttery and melts in your mouth, the salsas are sharp and cut the flavor so well, ... everything. No, it's not fancy, but tacos shouldn't be. Yes, if you don't speak Spanish, you might stumble in your ordering a bit (I had no idea the lady was offering free soup but I just said yes bc why not). But do yourself a favor and go get yourself a cheap, delicious fish taco. Note, being from the Bay Area, the place I typically go for fish tacos recently raised their prices from 4.55 to 5.25 a taco, which is absolutely ridiculous (but I still get 'em, what can I say), so the price really sealed the deal for me here. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but less than $2 for a taco. I miss it.

Grilled Fish Taco "al la plancha"
    Jack M.

I prefer my fish tacos "a la plancha" or cooked on a hot griddle, not battered and deep fried, and I was happy to learn that German Beyer offers them made this way as well. I ordered one for $4. The fish taco was a lot larger than I thought it was going to be and stuffed with a lot of fish, hence worth the $4. The fish taco came wrapped in two warm corn tortillas, which was a very good idea, because they did not hold back on the ingredients. The fish was piping hot, moist succulent, very well seasoned, and had a light brown exterior. I was very impressed with the fish's preparation. The shredded cabbage and tomatoes were crisp and fresh, and the light creamy sauce that came with the taco was just right. I added one of the a little of one of their red hot sauce and it had good flavor with a nice bite. The truck works out of a small parking lot with limited parking, so street parking is mostly required. Lines can get quite long during lunch and dinner peak hours, so keep that in mind. Hooray for grilled fish tacos!

The most unassuming spot with the best fish tacos and seafood in SD!!! We stop by here anytime we are in SD from LA!! No joke this truck is the real deal!!

Two fish tacos. I get extra white sauce on mine and added avocado:)
    Aricka M.

I've been coming here for years and the quality is always the same...which is amazing. These are by far the best fish tacos, and steak tacos I've had in sd. The flavor is so fresh and juicy and yummy mmmm. The reason I'm posting now is because of how amazed I was by the customer service last night. A guy working there actually came out the truck and helped me put all the toppings on mine and even put it in my car for me. I had my hands full with my little one and being preggo. Thank you to whoever you were!!!! I'm sure I'll be back again this week...and next!

    Me and my tostada
    Abel M.

As I said in my tip, it's a taco truck vato, not a food truck. They don't put their prices on the menu outside, so you have to guess. We ordered two fish tacos, a tostada de ceviche (camaron), and a shrimp quesadilla. It also came with two small cups of consume (fish soup) all for $15. The tostada was good and they piled so much on there I was able to make two tostadas with the extra tortilla they gave me. It's in the hood though, so it's a bit grimy around there, but what to expect. Bonus, it's next to a dulceria (mexican candy store) so you can go next door for dessert.

Shrimp taco tasted like bad seafood sitting in the sun
    Luis C.

I would never come here to eat again. They dont know how to make good food, it seems like they got the stove figured out and that's it no seasoning no salt nothing. I would think they would make a little effort to hide the foul taste of old musty sea food but to each his own. In conclusion you should not waist your time coming to this piece of S#it they dare call a taco truck.

They also had live music starting around 11 AM, and the way they celebrated birthdays made the experience feel even more special and lively. I was told I NEED to come back and try the seafood, so that's definitely happening on my next visit. Since they recently opened, expect it to be very busy. I went around 10 AM on a Tuesday morning and it was already packed. Parking in the area is pretty tight and not the greatest, but honestly, if you can make your way down there, do it. If there's one thing I highly recommend, it's the Chula Vista Tostada -- that was easily one of my favorites. The service was good and the wait for the food wasn't long at all. We went once on Saturday and again on Sunday. The lines were pretty small when we arrived, but it definitely picked up afterward. Just a heads up before you go, there is no seating. It's a standing-room-only setup with barrel tables throughout the outdoor space. You order from one of the trucks, find a place to stand, and enjoy your food. The atmosphere felt lively and authentic, making it part of the experience. Service: Service was quick and efficient despite the crowd. There was even someone helping direct parking, which made arriving and finding a spot much easier. Food: The complimentary consommé completely stole the show for me. It was rich, flavorful, and packed with chunks of seafood. Every bite had a deep, savory flavor with just the right amount of spice. It was honestly my favorite thing we tried. We ordered the Gobernador, the Negrita, and fish tacos. The Gobernador was loaded with shrimp and melted cheese, creating the perfect combination of rich, savory seafood flavor. The shrimp tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked perfectly. The Negrita was another standout, piled high with shrimp, sliced avocado, and topped with an oyster that added even more fresh ocean flavor. It was served with tostadas on the side, and every bite was packed with bold seasoning, fresh seafood, and great texture. The fish taco was good and made with fresh ingredients. My bf and I are big foodies and have eaten a lot of fish tacos over the years, so we're probably tougher critics than most. While it wasn't our favorite item of the meal, it was still enjoyable, and the Gobernador and Negrita were the clear standouts for us. While the prices are a little higher, the quality, freshness, and portion sizes help justify it. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish. Between the flavorful seafood, and generous portions, it's definitely worth coming back again.

Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and extremely disappointing. Our waitress, Yesenia, provided very poor customer service from the beginning. She was rude, inattentive, and made us feel unwelcome. Some guests requested water and never received it. Our food did not come out at the same time, and several dishes were cold when served. I also specifically ordered hard shell tacos and instead received soft tacos. One thing we did enjoy was the shrimp cocktail, which was delicious. However, two people ordered it at the beginning of the meal, and only one received it on time. The other person did not receive their shrimp cocktail until about 15 minutes after everyone else had already received and started eating their meals. That delay made the dining experience even more frustrating. What made the situation even more upsetting was how mistakes were handled. One of my friends mentioned to Yesenia in Spanish that the service had not been good, but there was no apology or attempt to improve the situation. Later, while packing up uneaten food to-go, she dropped the food all over the floor and did not apologize or offer to replace it. I also spoke directly with the manager about our concerns. At first, he did not seem to understand me, even when I spoke in Spanish. Eventually he understood, but unfortunately there was still no apology, concern, or effort made to correct the situation. To make matters worse, our bill was approximately $172, and a tip of $24 was added despite the extremely poor service we received. It was embarrassing to bring my family to a restaurant I had spoken so highly about, only to have such a terrible experience. The service was absolutely horrible, and based on this visit, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.
