For a food truck I really really enjoyed this meal! I'd love to try other things on the menu. They're located on the main road in front of a park and put a couple tables in the shade to eat. Their taco Tuesday deal is great (a buy one get one deal) and they're so nice and friendly! Will definitely be back. We got the dori ceviche with shrimp and wouldn't order it again. Nothing wrong with it just not my preferred style. But the fish and shrimp tacos! OMG. Sooo good!! I love the way they batter their shrimp I could have eaten way more of those. Definitely craveable. The empanada had a funky cheese in it that's common in Mexican cooking but it's not my preferred taste either. I really enjoyed all their selections of hot sauces too. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu

Super friendly staff and they knew exactly what to recommend my seafood loving self. Also loved that they had practically a whole ass factory of different mariscos and hot sauces laid out front for you to go try! Def be careful when ordering because you are standing on a bike lane. I really loved how the staff would warn its guests whenever it heard a bell. Def would be back anytime I'm near this area! So filling and it got the spot (:

This truck serves up some excellent Mariscos! I tried the fresh raw oysters, Dori ceviche, and shrimp empanadas.. Everything was super fresh and very tasty! So happy that I've found this truck! Service was quick, the prices were reasonable and the owner was very cool!

It was my first visit here on Wednesday and Ernesto and his team were truly so helpful and patient in helping me decide what to get. I was going to the beach and wanted something fresh but also to try a bunch of seafood so Ernesto hooked it up with this beautiful botana Reyna platter. Got tostadas and hot sauce with it and it was packaged neatly and securely for my drive to the beach. Perfect meal! Can't wait to go back. Ernesto and his team were amazing. Please stop by and check them out!

Culver City and Westside denizens -- one of the best mariscos trucks in Los Angeles has a new truck location along Venice Boulevard in Culver City. To find the seafood truck, it is parked near India's Sweets and Spices. You'll have to find parking on the street. If you're a fan of mariscos trucks such as Mariscos Jalisco, you'll want to try the seafood tostadas at Mariscos El Faro. On the menu, you'll find ceviches, sashimi, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, tostadas, and shrimp empanadas. They've already established a reputation as a destination seafood food truck in Highland Park where visiting top chefs from Mexico eat mariscos when they're in Los Angeles. In time, they will be known as one of the best places for Mexican-style prepared seafood in the Westside. Their specialty is callo de lobina (salt-cured sea bass marinated in lime juice) topped with chile chiltepín. This is what I usually order at their truck in Highland Park and probably what you should try during your first visit. Today was Taco Tuesday, so at Ernesto's suggestion I ordered each one -- fish taco, shrimp taco and shrimp empanada. It's 2 for 1 on Taco Tuesday... I am not sure you can get a better deal in the Westside for 6 fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and shrimp empanadas all for $12. You can follow their IG @mariscoselfaro for more information.

Nothing more authentic around. Genuine recipe from Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Tacos de camarón take crown in a very close race between the fish tacos. Salsa is spicy. Which is rare and I love it. For botanas the one to go is La botana Reyna una Delicia !

It's the real deal! Fresh and tasty! Definitely coming back. . Pic: fish taco (sea bass) & shrimp empanada

Every time I've seen them, they are parked in Sawtelle, on Sawtelle & Mississippi Ave right outside Daiso. The JFC Bowl. It seems this is the star and it's what I got at Gozen. JFC = Japanese Fried Chicken bowl, it is karage topped with a lot of goodness, including spicy mayo. It has a kick to it in all the right ways, full of flavor. The fluffy dog is just $5 and so original and cool. It's messy as heck, got some spicy kick to it and at least for me, totally filling. I'm going to have a hard time ever ordering anything besides my magical bowl moving forward. Legit good food and I'm wanting to eventually try their whole menu once I can move past my JFC.

The kaarage ($7) was well cooked - chicken was tender and moist with a nice crust and the spicy Mayo was the perfect complement Rice cake bonito ($2) was decent - nice to have a warm thick rice cake with just enough bonito seasoning. After you order you can spin a game to win prizes. Mostly likely you'll win some rice cracker and hi chew but you could win a fun mask or a cool Gozen tshirt!

I will preface this review by pointing out that I have been ordering from this restaurant…read moreconsistently over the last 8 years. In fact, according to Uber Eats, I've ordered from here 231 times- And that's just my delivery orders. This spot has been on a steady decline for the last 5 years and it's finally reached a breaking point where I will no longer be ordering from here. It's a huge bummer, as this has been one of my go-to spots since moving to Los Angeles. First they removed a lot of items, such as the bacon for the breakfast burrito, then the lamb tacos, then they continued to make portions smaller and using lower quality ingredients. The thing that broke me was the recent menu "rework"- Everything is pretty bad now and severely overpriced. New recipes aren't as good, ingredients are even lower quality, and portions are so much smaller that it's pathetic- Yet prices have gone up. The worst part is they started adding black beans to all their burritos to try to make up for the fact that they are using less protein, and it DOES NOT WORK. It tastes awful and takes away from all the other ingredients. They also started using mozzarella cheese instead of jack cheese- An Italian cheese in a burrito?? It's fried and overly greasy, flavorless, and- again- just doesn't work. The breakfast burrito also used to have American cheese on it and it was AMAZING, now it's just more of the flavorless, greasy fried mozz and it's incredibly disappointing. You can also no longer add pastrami to the breakfast burrito. They've quit including green salsa with their orders which was their best, and now it's a bland red salsa that's not very good at all. There's no option in the Uber app to add green salsa and they will explicitly ignore any notes you add about it on the order. Just more cheap corner cutting. While we're at it- What happened to the avo salsa? Quality control is another issue here. Half the time my burrito will be overly greasy to the point that it's leaking, or it will be falling apart/wrapped incorrectly. Many times I've ordered the fried chicken burrito for the chicken to be overcooked. Also consistently have issues with them forgetting ingredients, like guac in the breakfast burrito (this has happened twice). And the worst thing that's happened is I've found pieces of BLUE PLASTIC in my burrito before. There no longer seems to be a way to get a hold of a real person at this site by calling. The in-person experience has also gone downhill. You can no longer sit indoors, instead you have to either sit on the noisy, cramped sidewalk and be constantly interrupted by passersby or the smelly alleyway that acts as a wind tunnel. The changes I would need to see to start coming back: 1. Revert to the original menu/ingredients 2. Include green salsa with every order 3. Go back to the original portions 4. NO MORE BEANS IN THE BURRITOS- THEY'RE GROSS 5. Quit using fried mozz and go back to Jack- And American cheese for the breakfast burrito!!! I suspect these changes will never happen and the management will continue to run this once-awesome spot into the ground with their greedy corner-cutting and price gouging, at which point they will absolutely deserve it when they are inevitably forced to shutdown.
