I had read the reviews of my fellow yelpers and I had to see first hand what they were talking about. And they did not let me down. What a fantastic restaurant. And the food was exceptional. If there would have been sand and waves breaking I would say we were in Mazatlan or on some other beach in Mexico. Like I said this place is fantastic,the food, service and cold beer were great. My wife had the Camarones Santa Fe. Shrimp in a delicious sauce made with cream based sauce with green chili and mushrooms. After she had several bites from her plate all she could say is " This food reminds me of the food we have had in Mazatlan". The chili added flavor and only a medium heat. I had the meat tacos. I know what you're thinking " you go to a restaurant that specializes in fish and you order beef tacos, you dummy". I know but I wanted beef tacos. These were very tasty and fresh. Next time we go I am ordering the Tostadas de Ceviche. We promised ourselves that we will come back to eat and to dream of walking on beach in Manzanillo drinking a nice cold Pacifico beer. read more

We had lunch here recently, and I could NOT believe how much fresh seafood we received for such a reasonable price. We started with a crab leg appetizer, and there was so much crab for 2 to share that I probably could have stopped with that. The crab legs were very fresh and sweet and were served with melted butter and lemons. We both also had the shrimp cocktail as a main, and it was delicious! Again, very fresh ingredients and the shrimp came in a tall glass filled with tomato juice, fresh avocado, and a sort of pico de gallo mix. Even though I was pretty sated after the crab, I ate all the shrimp cocktail because it was so good, and who wants to waste fresh seafood? We were also served chips and salsa, and those were good. Went for the Coctel de Camerones. DW had a burrito. While the food was good and the establishment very colorful, it was no better than average. The poor quality and preparation of the shrimp made them gritty and rubbery. That really degraded what was otherwise a tasty Coctel. Authentic Mexican seafood restaurant. I ordered a De Vuelve La Vida soup which is a potpourri of seafood. It was delicious but no tortillas-those had to be ordered separately. At first they give you two atypical salsas with chips, including smashed beans or frijolitos! Stopped by tonight at 6:45 for dinner. Hostess said it was a 30 minute wait. Ok. We asked to order drink and sit in the totally EMPTY bar and she crisply said it was closed. Warning this place is not "Mexican" New Mexican. Thank god. I love green chile but sometimes I would love to have a regular taco straight from Morelia. Winner winner chicken dinner! They give you complimentary chips with three dips, beans, and avocado salsa, and a pico de gallo.. Most of their plates also come with rice and beans which is a plus. They also have micheladas making this probably the second or third place in Albuquerque that serves a mean michelada. They also have a good happy hour $3 beer and margs. Can't beat that for sure! The place is huge not sure why it's not busier. But you're missing out Albuquerque. Don't led the outside steer you away. This place is stellar. Not really impressed with this place, but I'm not used to NM Mexican food. I cut it some slack and gave it three stars instead of two. My friend and I ordered the "healthy" shrimp skewers that came with rice and French fries. We asked to substitute a salad instead of the rice and French fries, and they complied with our request. The "healthy" shrimp skewers were the weirdest darned things I have seen in a long time. There were two of them with thinly sliced pieces of zucchini, yellow squash, onion, mushrooms(?) and a few small slices of bacon interspersed. My shrimp looked like dehydrated shrimp that had been possibly deep fried (no batter) along with the sliced veggies. My friend's shrimp had the tails still on them--mine did not. It was a very strange meal, and we both agreed the lettuce, tomatoes and avocado salad was good. I am just visiting, but if I lived here, I would not go back. read more

Everything tastes like fish. Not badfor me because I love seafood. But my husband doesn't so we ended up paying $20 for him to eat 2 bites, put it in a to go container and toss it in the trash 3 days later because he wouldn't eat it. What can I say of this place other than it seems to be an authentic Mexican restaurant! I mean, many of the staff are from México and many of the guests are from México (the guests seem to know each other and call each other compadre and comadre). The food is authentic. While some reviewers are critical, it may be because they are not familiar with it. For example, I'm from the Caribbean and I never have had ceviche with mayonnaise and this might be throwing some people's palate off but talking with the server she assured me this is the way it is made in touristy areas in Mexico... I never have been in Mexico, but I bet that most of the people who have visited this restaurant have also been in the most touristic area of México. This place isn't expensive and, in my opinion, should sate anyone's craving for that kind of good but unmistakably cheap margarita taste! Talking about service, the servers were very attentive. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Camarones de Santa Fe and the sauce was the best sauce I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The cream to spice ratio was perfect and the mushrooms really balanced it out with the shrimp! I used the rice to soak up the extra sauce at the end. Seriously guys, the sauce. To start my meal I ordered an Oyster Shot (try it!), which you could tell was super fresh. Best experience I've had at a seafood place in a while! The food is great and the service is fast, friendly and accommodating. The prices are reasonable for a Mexican marisco restaurant and every table gets chips, salsa, a cream slaw, and beans. I ordered a ceviche tostada and the shrimp was marinated well. The cocktails were packed with seafood, but the small was a little too small for the pruce though it was a perfect size for my appetite. Wanted to try authentic Mexican restaurant that served seafood. It was girls night out so we decided on this place because of the reviews and menu. The decor was Mexican cantina style. On a recommendation my friend ordered 3 oyster shots, she described them as smooth briny and fresh. The mixed shrimp/fish ceviche reminded me of my time in Mexico. My friend loved it so much she ordered more for her dinner. I tried the tilapia fillet steamed in butter and garlic. It was tender flaky and flavorful. Of course, I had to try the flan. Went here with a group of 12 at 6pm ina Tuesday and completely overwhelmed the kitchen and wait staff. Then, the food was not very good. Chips and salsa seemed fresh and tasted good, but that was about it. Nobody at the table liked the taste of their food. AIso, most of it came out without sides like tortillas and pico. Ceviche tostadas are AMAZING!!! You can either get fish or shrimp, but I get the mixture of both. They taste so fresh. And you get THREE tostadas, which is very generous! The 3 salsas they serve with chips before your meal are really good too, especially the creamy avocado salsa. I had to mixed ceviche tostadas and they tasted weird and had a funky smell to them and some pieces looked like they'd been sitting out for awhile. My stomach doesn't feel right... My coworker ordered the fried shrimp tacos and they had zero flavor. Other coworker had the enchiladas and she said they were decent. So this is a mixed review. We went with some friends, one of them hated this place and one thought it was okay. My wife thought it was so-so and I had mixed feelings. We arrived and the decor is bright and fun. The place was mostly empty, so we expected fast service, mistake. We waited for a while and finally someone came by and said we should have a seat in the waiting area until someone got to us...hmmmmm. We waited a bit more and were seated in a bright, colorful, stiff, uncomfortable booth with slightly not enough room. We ordered an appetizer and 4 meals. The appetizer was guacamole and after 25 minutes we had to ask where it was. The server went to the back and it came out 10 minutes later. She blamed the kitchen, but said she would not charge us. Our food came about 5 minutes later. One of the meals was not what our friend was expecting, so he sent it back and they fixed it...so that was good. My food was okay I guess, but pretty mediocre, definitely not worth the price. My wife ordered shrimp kabobs and there was very little shrimp in many ways; they were small and there were far too few of them for the price. Our seafood fanatic yummed up the seafood part of his meal and didn't eat anything else on the plate (rice and fries). I don't know why the waitress didn't ask if something was wrong with the meal when his plate was only half eaten. My wife didn't eat the potatoes and most of the rice either. Our other friend pretty much had a bad experience all around. I keep changing my mind between 2 or 3 stars, but I will have to say 2. Sorry, I wanted to like this place, but it was pretty much a flop. read more

We ordered carry out. The fish tacos were delicious! We also ordered grilled salmon topped with pico de gallo. When back in the hotel, we discovered the fish was topped with bacon and cheese. It was hard to tell it was actually salmon. The flesh was firm, the color white and no flavor of salmon. That was quite a disappointment. The chocolate cake was tasty. I grew up in San Diego, and although I love New Mexican food, I miss the seafood flavors of Baja. This colorful restaurant brought it all back for me.
