Combo plate with green chile

Lunch service was super fast and friendly. The food was delicious and generously portioned. If I worked close by this would be a routine lunch stop for me.

Good morning from a very cold Tom Neiman and Jim Tritten. We know exactly where you can get warm, eat a good hot meal, and meet the friendliest warm-hearted owner and past owner. Mick's Chile Fix. Join the intrepid duo as they report on this out-of-the-way and worth-the-drive eating establishment. And yes, you can get a burger with this number of patties. I have heard great things about Mick's and their huge portions and I was not disappointed! I got the shocker which was delicious and definitely worth the price. My boyfriend got the summit which sounds delicious but I didn't think it would be the size of a party tray! For $12, that is a great price for such a large portion. The staff were so friendly and extremely patient when I couldn't figure out what I wanted to order. It's a cute local shop that is family owned and I highly recommend going there for your breakfast needs! Delicious, affordable, and friendly staff!

Frito pie is soooo good.

I was craving Frito pie and Mick's did not disappoint. I thought they were carry out only but nope. I am dining in. The servers are super friendly. The Frito pie is delicious. The red chile has good flavor and just the right bite. I love supporting local restaurants.

I love Mick's Chile Fix. This delightful, and actually quite spacious, restaurant recently celebrated one year at its current location on Candelaria a block West of Carlisle, pumping out delicious food five days a week. (Sunday and Monday, seek sustenance elsewhere). Mick's is known for their generous portion sizes and fair prices as much as for their smooth, flavorful chile, which always tastes great, if not especially spicy. Breakfast burritos are massive, and always delicious, no matter which meat you choose (or, get The Shocker, which has it all). Perhaps the most indulgent of all is The Summit: 3 scrambled eggs, hash browns, beans, sausage, bacon, ham, chile, and cheese, with an additional egg on top, smothered in fries. The carne adovada here is also top-notch; indeed, there are few places that do it better. Today I had the carne and huevos for breakfast, with the eggs over easy, plus a side of rye toast. I requested plenty of lettuce and tomato garnish, and the kitchen was happy to oblige. Everything was fantastic. For $0.99, the two thick slices of rye toast, crispy and buttery, was a great call. One of the things that I admire about Mick's is that it's an inviting, inclusive space. Blue collar, white collar, young professionals, retirees, families, friends. Everyone is welcome here. They also show a lot of respect for veterans and members of the armed forces. Don't wait another minute: plan your visit to Mick's, now.

Two Carne Asada Tacos

First time trying this place and wasn't disappointed! We tried this place for lunch and got our food to go. We split an order of the Frito pie Christmas and two carne asada tacos. The crunchy taco shells weren't really crunchy by the time we were eating them, but I feel like that should be expected when it's holding carne and chile. The Frito pie was also very good. The chile was hot, but that's the way I like it! We'll definitely be back!

The dining partner in crime and I stopped here for breakfast. We wanted something quick and hearty before we went fishing and this fit the bill nicely. Good selection of breakfast options and more than reasonable prices for the amount of food served. I generally like red over green chile but here the green was better--good flavor and heat. Friendly service and easy parking. A good option for breakfast!

Great food. I had the breakfast burrito with extra cheese and green chili. I had to take some home for later.

Gigantic burrito, a little under seasoned. I find most New Mexico style Mexican food lacking seasoning and too reliant on the sauces

My wife and I recently went to Cocina Azul for a weekend dinner and had a great experience. Even…read morethough we came without a reservation and the restaurant was busy, we were able to get a table in under 10 minutes. Our service was outstanding-food came out quickly and our server quickly and easily was able to accommodate some minor modifications to our dishes. We started our dinner by sharing the guacamole salad, chips, salsa verde, and salsa rojo. The guacamole was rich, fresh, and creamy, and the chips were warm, crispy, with the right amount of salt. The salsa verde was delicious; the salsa rojo was OK. I got the sample platter for my main dish; I particularly liked the brisket taco. I highly recommend going to Cocina Azul if you are in Albuquerque!

We were looking for lunch after arriving in Albuquerque and were happy to be seated quickly when we…read morearrived. We ordered the green chile stew, fish tacos, green/red wet burrito with steak and taco salad with steak. They accidentally brought shrimp tacos instead of the fish, so we got to try those too. Everything was decent. - Green chile stew: good flavor. A little spicy for some. Liked that it was served with a tortilla. - Taco salad: got it with rice and beans. Steak was good. - Red/green wet burrito with steak: Really good flavor. Loved the combo of the sauces. Side of pozole was also delicious. - Fish tacos: the fish was nice and crispy, but I didn't love the cremas, which in my opinion are key to a good fish taco. The papas side was delish. The beans side was a bit salty. The horchata had good flavor but seemed a bit watery. The Diet Coke was good (looks like they recently switched from Pepsi since some of the menus still said Pepsi). The seating area is large. The AC was on a little high -- we had to go to the car for jackets.
