The restaurant itself is cute, inviting and I love the music they play. But when I walked in I waited 2-3 min at the door until the servers finished their conversation. We sat down, our server was polite. I ordered the tostada mixta, I was very excited to try it. But I could see right away it was dry. When I tried the tostada, there was no flavor no salt no limón no spice NOTHING. The server apologized and told me that's not how it should be. Mind you it was extremely busy for a Sunday afternoon.

Flavor galore! I've read some good reviews about Spicy Molcajete Nayarit and finally, I decided to go for it last Saturday for lunch. And I'm so glad I did. Spicy Molcajete Nayarit is a seafood medley sautéed in a flavorful sauce. You have a choice of the spicy level. For this take-out order, I decided for the hottest level of Molcajete and 2 al pastor tacos. OMG! This Molcajete is lit, legit, the bomb, and flavor galore! The sauce was so flavorful, not greasy, and the seafood was cooked just right. And the large shrimps were flavorful! I ate the Molcajete with the tostadas side that came with the order and with the white steam rice from home. It was actually even better with the white steam rice. I'll definitely have the spicy Molcajete Nayarit again from Mariscos La Playita!

I cut the top part of the shrimp. They still have the digestive track/poop or whatever you want to call it.

One server for 10 tables. She was great despite being slammed. The food was terrible. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, with no flavor whatsoever. Also, I was disgusted to learn that they don't clean their shrimp. They aren't deveined and the shrimp were clearly old. I told the server and she said oh yeah, we don't devein our shrimp we just boil them. Gross! Sorry never coming back here again.

As a Richmond local, I've spent a decent of time chasing real good beer and comfort food around the Bay, and this place delivered. We started with my favorite cucumber salad and a couple Fieldwork IPAs (the regular West Coast IPA, not hazy). Then came the fish & chips. Honestly, fish (unless it is extraordinary) doesn't usually get me excited, but this was the standout. The batter was light, crispy, and steaming hot, with two good-sized pieces of fish per order. Add lemon and malt vinegar and it was game over. The fries were great, too, but the fish was the surprise. In fact, I liked it so much I ordered a second plate. At $28, it's more of a treat than a habit, but when I find great fish & chips, I'm all in. The setting doesn't hurt, either. Sitting above Point San Pablo Harbor with the boats gently rocking below is about as relaxing as Richmond gets. Then Los Bahianatos!! started playing cumbia and completely won over the crowd. Before long people were happy & dancing and sticking around longer than they probably planned. Good beer, great fish & chips, live music, and a waterfront view. Hard to complain about any of that.

My son ordered the chicken and waffles: The chicken was 1/5 - dry and underseasoned The waffles were a 5/5 - perfectly made, but served with a really unappetizing pepper jack cheese butter and spiced jam that didn't go well with it all. No syrup whatsoever was provided which would've really elevated the dish. My wife had the clams / vongole and they were pretty solid, 3/5. The mussels weren't obviously previously frozen, but the broth was tasty, and the croquets were average. My kids started with the garlic fries which were also a 3/5 and had a good amount of garlic and herbs. The ketchup was overly sweet but house made. The aioli was very acid forward and tasted like it had some sort of artichoke or vinegar mix in it that didn't match the flavor profile well. I asked for a recommendation between the veal and the lasagna and was told the lasagna was the way to go. The lasagna came out and looked beautiful, but taste wise... super traditional which some may like, but I found to be super disheartening as it tasted like low expectations. It might has well been microwaveable lasagna that was plated and finished by a chef. The tomato sauce base that it sat in was the highlight, but the lasagna itself was a disappointment. It brought me back to 2nd year of college, when roomies took their first stab at cooking. The server himself was great, friendly and attentive. But in regards to food, I would never come back here. You could get better Italian food in a mall food court and at half the price. (I wouldn't eat there either).

Okay, Rockin' Crawfish!…read more I recently heard they were under new ownership, and I'll admit I was a little skeptical. But I decided to give them a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our group ordered just about everything on the menu, and honestly, almost every dish was a hit. The only item that fell a little short for me was the fish sauce wings--I think those could use some improvement. Other than that, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The service was also incredibly pleasant. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely sweet. While we did have to ask for a few things multiple times because they were initially forgotten, they were always quick to help and eager to make things right. My only real complaint besides the wings is the pricing on some add-ons. Charging $8 for six small pieces of sausage feels excessive and is hard to justify, especially when compared to the portion sizes of everything else. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Good food, great service, and a noticeable improvement under the new ownership. Despite a couple of minor complaints, I'll definitely be back.

When I got home, I saw that they didn't give me salt/pepper and lemon, so that was very disappointing already.
