Hmm.. so I came here on a saturday night for my friends birthday dinner. The restaurant was not crowded at all, but the bar looking like it was hopping! The service was mediocre and the food was expensive.. (like all restaurants attached to resorts..) It was not what I would call Mexican food, it was sort of a new age sea food type of place. Lunch was weird. My husband had the ahi fish tacos which were weird with pita like bread and green apples and guacamole. I had the grilled mushroom sandwich which they couldnt decide if they wanted to be a hot or cold sandwich. It had grilled portobello with no seasonings on it with warm brie cheese but then cold sprouts and tomatoes served with a vinegarette....strange. Our friend had the calamari which was crazy oily and undercooked and the truffle fries were crazy oily and salty. Service was a huge let down as well. My wife and I enjoyed this place from beginning to end! The view was amazing, they brought her a blanket while we dined outside and the heat lamp was just right! We sat outside and had a view of the game in one direction and a movie just down below. The kids watched the cartoon, Cars and had hot chocolate and s'mores. Now with the amazing Food! I had an awesome warm bowl of clam chowder, the taste was buttery and cubed potatoes were just right! For the main course I had the 8oz filet and garlic mashed potato and topped with ginger soy, it was heaven! I cannot say enough about the service , the food and the view! We stumbled upon this Highway 1 restaurant for a snack and drink between breakfast and lunch. The food is expensive but quite tasty. On the other hand, the service was very slow. We had to get up and track down our waitress to get a refill and some additional sauce. Would we stop again on the trip back down Highway 1? Probably not. Recently went to Marisol for there Sunday Champagne Brunch which has recently been raised to $49.00 for Adults. I don't understand why all Adults pay $49.00 regardless if you are drinking Champagne or not but that is the case. Other than the prime rib ALL other items my wife and I tried were awful. The Eggs Benedict was disgusting as the bottom of the English Muffin was literally ROCK hard (mind you this was at 10:00 AM) The sliced ham was way over cooked as well. The Sausage was ok but how can you screw up Sausage? They have a sugar coated donut with some type of drizzle that was absolutely disgusting. The salads that were available in little stainless steel colanders lacked freshness and were wilted. No rolls or bread options were available. They do have an omelet station but neither of us were in the mood for an omelette. I am sure the omelette option is the way to go but we could have gone to a local breakfast spot and had an omelette, hash browns and toast for less than $25 for the two of us. They did have crab enchiladas and swordfish but after trying the other items that were not fresh or over cooked we were Leary to try either one. Sorry but we really wish we would have gone to the Ventana Grill's Sunday Brunch which is the best on the Central Coast. If we could have done 1/2 STAR we would have. Run don't walk!! read more

He told me I'll get your waiter, which I waited for 10 mins....she kept passing by, I finally went inside and told some guy at the bar if we could get some service. Absolutely horrible!!! I was a regular there until Sunday May 21st. I try to bring people to enjoy the food and find a relaxing and positive ambiance. Not this time. First the reservation was lost. 2nd we were thrown in a corner in the bar. 3rd we were told that we would have to leave in an hour and a half. Brunch is only an hour now? The manager David said if that would be ok? I said no I am not sure how long we would be there. 7 of us went and we were told we were not allowed to have anymore mimosas... (bottomless mimosas are limited I guess now) and then we were told that our laughing was "high pitch screaming" by a very rude rent a cop named Aaron. The Manager David said that "upper management" told him to slow the pour. After that I asked please give me upper managements name and I can call them the next day. Turns out there was no name to give. Sitting in the bar just made the experience weird and awkward because being at the bar side and saying our laughing was too loud I just didn't get it. 1 1/2 hours later we left. They were right on time and got us out just like he asked in the beginning. I am sorry my group had this experience (this was their 1st time) and I am sad to never want to go again. Shame on you Marisol...and shame on you David. There was absolutely no reason for this. The place was empty at that time and you made it very uncomfortable. Went here for lunch, today, Wednesday, 5/10/17. Arrived at 12:30 and the place was empty, except for one person at the bar. My wife and I sat in a booth, in the bar area. We were the only ones here and that should have been a clue. Order iced tea and a Diet Coke. Ice tea came in a plastic cup and tasted like sewer water and the coke was absolutely flat. Returned them both. Across the way, next to the bar, is a door to the outside patio. N one was outside, yet the help constantly opened the door and left it open. Temperatures were in the high 50's and the wind came through right at us. We put our coats back on. We asked for someone to please close the door and they did, however, more staff kept opening it. After we send our drinks back, we kept waiting for them to be replaced and finally gave up and just left, never to return. Don't waste your time go no here for lunch. read more

This was a horrible experience during a pandemic. The waiters were walking around with their masks under their nose, and often not covering their mouths. In addition, the food that was recommended to us by the waiter (the short rib bruschetta) was full of fatty pieces of meat, soggy and stale tasting bread, and an overall odd addition of jam on top of the short rib. We also ordered the oysters Rockefeller which could not be a more disgusting dish. It tasted like fried cheese and was dripping in grease. However, after sitting at our table for over 15 minutes and our server passing us at least 5 times I couldn't bring myself to give this place 5 stars even though I think their food is amazing and does deserve 5 stars. Had dinner here and was very underwhelmed. Started with the Brussels sprouts, which were delicious. Then had the avocado chop salad with steak and it was worse than a salad I could have made myself - don't order the balsamic dressing unless you like deli counter dressing. The steak was boring. Not much taste to the salad. Ordered a side of French fries to satisfy my hunger - thick cut diner fries with typical seasoning. As a local we have frequented this establishment on numerous occasions. The views and atmosphere are second to none. However, it is IMPOSSIBLE to coordinate with the various managers/staff for large groups or simply to make a dinner or brunch reservation. The quality of the food is wonderful and the drinks are reasonable as well. It's a great destination on the Central Coast for both locals and tourists. I just wish everyone who worked there was on the same page and the quality of service could be improved. read more

Had a delicious meal at Marisol last night. Menu of the Month had a wide range of tasty appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose from. Everything was "high end" in taste and presentation. Had a minor issue with the meat served and it was immediately taken care of by our waiter Eric. Chef Jason came out and personally made everything good. Very happy with their service. We would recommend you try Marisol. You will be happy. A bit pricy but the view, service and atmosphere are worth it. If you enjoy Chardonnay try the Napa Valley Stags Leap. Then take a short stroll out in the courtyard to overlook the cliffs and the Pacific Ocean. read more

I hate to have to give a poor review.:( We were very disappointed with how our Father's Day brunch reservation was handled. I emailed a week prior to Father's Day and reserved a table for 14 for noon. After an exchange in email with Venessa (F&B Marisol Operations), I was confident that when we arrive, our table was set. But when we got there, our table was not ready. We waited for 30 minutes and when finally seated, the tables were not set, chairs were crowded around the tables, we had to separate few chairs from the big tables to make more space. We asked for a smaller table for other seats but none was given, we had to get the table from the patio, ourselves. No utensils and took a while for someone to ask for our drinks. It was 1230 at this point and everyone esp the kids were hungry. Having made the reservation and few exchanges in email, I was expecting our table set on time. We have been to Marisol many times but haven't encountered something like this. The only positive thing that happened was Vidal's service. When he started serving us, he really took care of us. Just very disappointed with reservation. And the host/hostess. I wish it could've been handled better. I emailed this message right after the incident but never got a respond. read more

The waitress took our order & we waited about 45mins for our order to come out everyone got their meal except me & 2 other friends. I tried to ask where the rest of meals were and got attitude for asking to top it off they also got a lot of the orders wrong for simple request. Then my waiter was no where to be found, she was assisting another party next us as she yelled rudely across from the other table she was helping asking us "how is everything" I laughed and said "just great" as we 3 were waiting for our food and everyone else was eating almost an 1 hour later they bring our meals out at this point I couldn't even eat I was so upset. I kept asking for our waiter she was no where to be found. We talk to multiple people in long managers. I was completely over it they ended up making us pay for food that no one finished nor liked. I am disappointed do not eat here it's not worth it. What a disappointment. If you want somewhere to go to Pismo that has the best food go too Zorro's too bad this isn't the restaurant next to the hotel. We got there were seated in a reasonable time, ate, food was good but not "the best I've ever had", and then we got the check and they jacked the price up to $54 a person for everyone! - I DEFINITELY would have gone somewhere else. NOT WORTH IT. There are other choices on the list that would have been a much better value. We booked a reservation through Open Table since I had a gift certificate. The meal was wonderful. I had the pan seared sea bass with red mashed potatoes, squash and a very lightly spicy salsa. Excellent. My cousin had the short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. Also excellent. The waiter (Tyler) heard us discussing our birthdays and brought a delicious chocolate cake to our table. On the house, of course. At the end of the meal, it appeared that our gift certificate was not applicable. The assistant manager came over to explain and for our trouble, they comped the drinks. As we left, the manager was also apologetic and said he would look into being part of the gift certificate program the next day. All in all, a extremely nice dining experience.
