This restaurant has delicious Portuguese food in a casual setting . This charming spot is special. The food reminded me of my grandmother cooking. They only have beer and wine. They had a good crowd of locals. You can tell they take a lot of pride is their restaurant. The waitstaff were very nice and welcoming. Thank you Marisqueira.

My new favorite Portuguese restaurant. Not sure how I missed this place over the years but so glad that I found them. Small parking lot. Otherwise street parking w a meter except on Sundays. Smallish and so cute inside. Excellent service. Portuguese bread w butter to start. Wine and beer available. You can call ahead for reservations. They have specials. I had the paelha dish. Loaded w seafood, chicken, and pork. It was out of this world delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food. We can not wait to return..

I was in fall river today and found this place here on Yelp and decided to try!!! Best experience ever! If u are planning to get in and out in 30 minutes choose another place! Since i was on Azores last spring break i can testify that the food is as authentic! Our server was great, very knowledgeable and help us pick our food!

Somehow this is the best Portuguese Steak in the FR/NB area right now. Baffling. I also enjoy their Little Necks, Shrimp and Codfish dishes.

THE BEST PORTUGUESE FOOD! Everything is just so delicious. My go to dish is their octopus as well as salmon.

My favorite thing is the Camarao Mocambique . The sauce is phenomenal make sure to soak it up with bread provided. I got the Mariscada for entree and large portions. I took half home and had a wonderful lunch with it the next day. I also had the traditional flan for dessert that was good. On another visit I got the fresh goat cheese which is amazing. You cannot go wrong with a meal here. The setting is nice low light and good for conversations with friends and family.

The Portas Da Cidade restaurant…read morewas absolutely thriving on a Tuesday night, and yet they had plenty of space for more people. There were 3 tables celebrating birthdays. The wonderful atmosphere, good vibes, great delicious food, and awesome service all came together in perfect harmony. Your meal comes with a large house salad and bread which I greatly appreciated. We started off with the Mozambique Shrimp appetizer which is a savory, garlicky, and mildly spicy sauce. It is traditionally made by simmering butter, olive oil, copious amounts of garlic, onion, white wine, and Sazón seasoning often with saffron or annatto, finished with hot sauce or peri-peri sauce. ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING! For my meal, I ordered the Bitoque which is a classic, hearty Portuguese dish featuring a medium fried steak topped with a runny fried egg, served with chips, and vegetable rice, all tied together with a flavorful butter, wine, and garlic sauce. I was told it's a popular Portuguese comfort food. For dessert, I ordered my favorite Tiramisu! Light, spongy, not too sweet and the perfect combo of Expresso coffee-soaked lady fingers, creamy mascarpone, cocoa powder dusting, and whipped cream!
