Excellent care and advice, friendly staff, and fantastic PA's if you can't get in to see Dr. Yousefi herself. Convenient location with free parking lot in back or inexpensive on-street parking on Pershing St. out front. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that the office facility itself is old and a bit worn around the edges, and for one appointment we had to wait an unreasonably long time to be seen (before a long holiday break which might explain that), but otherwise this is a great dermatology practice. I have been bringing my teen daughter here for six months, and will soon add my son to the list, plus I'm going to start coming here myself instead of a less convenient practice in Falls Church. read more

Careless practice, particularly with regard to scheduling. Patients have to schedule months in advance to get an appointment, and even then, the office regularly cancels on the patient. The front desk does not even accommodate their cancelation by reserving a new date for you and only offers another first-available appointment months later. Of course, with no guarantee that time will be honored. I've had two appointments cancelled on short notice, with no explanation other than "the doctor is out for the day." Most recently, I found out my appointment was canceled on the day of. The front desk assistant, Arlene, was rude and blamed me for missing a call from the office a month ago to sort out the schedule. My call record shows no missed calls, nor did the office email me to reschedule despite having my contact information. It should not be this difficult to see a doctor, and doctors should not treat appointments as optional days to not show up. If you really need to see a doctor, it would be easier and wiser to find a practice that keeps appointments. In my experience, this office does not value the patient's time and concerns. read more

For several years I visited the Arlington location of this practice for annual skin cancer check-ups and skin issues. But after my last visit, I will not be returning. Too bad, as it's near me, but I'll be searching for another provider. Technical competence is fine - I never did and still don't have any problem with that. But the staff rudeness, always something I could overlook, has reached new levels and I'm no longer willing to subject myself to it. When I mentioned this to the PA assisting me on my last visit, her solution was to suggest that I visit the practice's other location (12 miles further) -- had to laugh at that. (Sure, I'll expend even more time and $$ for gas to visit your other location b/c you are not doing a great job managing this location.) read more

I went there to have something removed from my neck. The treatment didn't work because three weeks later it was still there. So I made an appointment for them to take care of it. They wanted to charge for the visit. That seems wrong to me. If the treatment doesn't work they should fix it. Not impressed. Not returning. read more

I have had skin issues for years, from keratosis to melanomas and have been going to Dr Yosefi since I moved to this area. I see her for regular check-ups, which have resulted in several biopsies and removals of non-malignant bodies. She has always been very thorough and has referred me to other specialists for conditions she considered beyond her area of expertise. This is the best Dermatology office I have ever been to, and I wish all healthcare providers could be more like them. Dr. Yousefi herself is very kind and understanding, and I have also had great experiences with the other staff (nurse practitioner? Physician assistant? Dr. Yousefi was knowledgeable but I waited 45 minutes for a 5 minute appointment because her office booked way too many people. The reception staff is unprofessional and disorganized. Dr. Yousefi rushed through the appointment and was not very friendly. The reception staff tried to guess what my co-pay might be because they couldn't look it up. I told them I was not giving them money for a "guess-timate". The office décor is plain. Not a bad dermatologist office but not good either. I won't be returning. read more

Dr. Marjan Yousefi is a thoughtful, focused dermatologist and enjoys a successful practice for a reason. She has convenient offices that are well staffed in both Arlington and Vienna, Virginia. She and her staff "map" moles and "interesting freckles" very carefully and she uses a specialized lab to evaluate any moles that are selected for a shave biopsy. Also, if you have a "sudden concern" of any kind, you can get an appointment quickly which is very important for this type of medical practice. read more

I had been going to Dr. Yousefi's practice for several years. At my last visit I went in to get something checked. While prepping for the check in the room I asked an additional question which came to mind. Dr. Yousefi looked at the area briefly (less than 5 seconds) and then continued on to the intent of my visit. After my visit I received a bill in the mail charging me 2 visits due to the additional question. I called my insurance. They advised me to have the doctors office remove the charge. Firstly, being charged for multiple visits for a question seems wrong. My overall time with Dr. Yousefi was short and a side question while prepping is something I'd expect a doctor to do. Second, my experience trying to sort out the issue was horrible. The front desk staff was rude. Dr. Yousefi refused to discuss the billing issue. The customer service was overall terrible. The billing department unfriendly. In the end after multiple calls I just paid the bill and have moved to another dermatologist. It was an unfortunate and stressful experience. read more
