Make sure to check your receipts before paying! I called ahead to ask if they had a special on pupusas, and was told there was a special for $1 pupusas each. The food was decent. The best thing on my place was the pupusa. I got the Plato Típico. It also included a tamal, empanada, yucca, plantano and chicharrón. The chicharrón had a good flavor. The yucca was ok. The plantano was sweet and served with sour cream The tamal was mostly raw and not too great. My boyfriend got the enchilada plate and they were "interesting". The flavor was completely different than you would dine in a traditional Mexican restaurant. The rice and beans were pretty good though. It took us about 2 minutes to place our order. However, we waited 35 minutes for our food to come out. Keep in mind this is not Mexican food when you come here So if you're looking for traditional staples in Mexican cuisine, they wilL serve them, but they are prepared differently. read more

Thought we'd stop and try a random spot for a late lunch. Little did I know.. I almost always look at Yelp reviews. And perhaps that is a rule I must stick with in the future. This tucked away restaurant is in a shopping center just North of all the hustle and bustle of the Stockyards. I'm always willing to try to new foods. But only when I except it. This is a El Salvador Restaurant and from the taste of it, it's not my personal preference. I ordered the shredded beef plate, pupusas and Carne Asada. The shredded beef was "soaked" in oil and cooked to a perfect "crisp" almost " burnt" and maybe it's normally cooked like this. But I took 2 bites and I couldn't eat it. The rice and beans are mixed and were drowned in salt. I could not eat it either. The pupusas was okay, no wow factor. The Carne Asada was good. I will not be back. I did not enjoy the food. It's not something that I personally like and perhaps my ignorance to their culture is something that could be a huge part of my dislike to this food. Thumbs down for me. read more

I got the pupusa plate and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had!! The plate came with 2 pupusas, rice and beans. The rice was undercooked and the beans were so runny and oily it gave me the worst stomach ache! The pupusas were awful too so overly salted.. Never again! read more

Pupusas were not good, extra charge for chips and beans and we asked about Plantains filled with beans (empanadas) our waitress 1st came out and said they did not have any. A few minutes she comes back and tells us she was wrong they do have bean empanadas. A few minutes later waitress returns with empanadas to go (that should have been a sign!) First thing first, they don't speak English. Which is fine by me, it's usually a sign that the place is legit. Somehow, with my poor & broken Spanish, we managed to order food. Online it states they close at 10:00pm, we called at 9:00pm to place a to-go order and the lady who answered stated they were closed already, we said how it says 10:00pm, she stated that during "cold weather "tiempo frío" they close at 9:00pm. It was my family's first time coming here, we walked in and it took 5 minutes before an employee decided to stop talking in the back and come up to ask us if we were eating there or ordering to go. We sat down and the waiter took our drink order. It had been 23 minutes and no drinks were served and our complimentary chips and salsa were not served to us either. This is the worst customer service ever. We walked out as we had been waiting for over 25 minutes just for our drinks and no one came to let us know anything or to take our order. I was looking for authentic mexican food and found this place. In the heart of Northside/ Stockyards. I had the best street tacos and pupusas I have ever had. My wife had the chicken tamale wapped in banana leaf and she was very impressed. And she is from Mexico so she would know. I am taking some pupusas for my lunch tomorrow. Letting all my friends know and how clean the place is also. To my surprise the food is Salvadoran but just like Mexican food, oh well it was all good. read more

I used to eat here more often. The food was okay to me but my mother enjoyed it. We have stopped going because at our last visit there was SEVERAL ants on the walls. When we stated to the cashier she was not surprised and even mentioned she was aware. the Fort Worth location quality of food has definitely declined in taste and texture. Recently in the past year what they are famous for the chicken tamales and pupusas have turned to very poor quality. the pupusas are $1 on Wednesdays for a reason. The chicken tamales have very little chicken filling and more veggies. Sometimes its only the veggies. whichever one of the fillings, you will taste the masa more than the filling. The size of the tamales has shrunk but the price didn't go with it. As for the pupusas, these used to be the favorite. it looks like they changed out to an imitation cheese (you can't do that with Salvadoren food. the real stuff makes the difference) and again more masa than filling. They have no flavor and its like eating Panchos Mexican food that leaves you bloated. The Authentic taste and flavor is no longer there...very disappointed. I'm the son of (legal) immigrants from El Salvador. That means that I had first-hand experience with food from there. Every family gathering included pupusas, tamales, fried yuca, chicarones, etc. While I knew of several great Salvadoran restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area where I grew up, when I moved to Fort Worth, I wondered if I would ever find a place that would produce the kind of food that would remind me of my family. I did! Market Latina moved to their current location in 2013 and it was definitely a step up. The last place gave it "hole in the wall" status but the new locations is acceptable. Not the fanciest but if you want to be pretentious, there's a place that starts with the letter "G" that's good if you want to overpay and show off. If you want truly authentic Salvadoran food that tastes homemade, Market Latina is the way to go! Casual dining is the way to go here! By the way, try the Salvadoran Horchata. It's a "personal taste" type of beverage that some love and some pass on. But, their Aguas Frescas (fruit based beverages) are delicious too! If you take note of what you like, you can call in take out orders and they are prompt and package the food well for your drive home.
