    French Dip

Ella was a wonderful bartender! Fun and very engaging. The food NEVER disappoints! So yourself a favor and get the Duck Carnitas Spring Rolls! We also shared the French Dip which was delicious! Oh, I forgot to mention the wine list is fantastic! We will back!

AMBIANCE: I came in a party of 6 on a Tuesday night and was shocked to see the place so packed! But even so, we were able to be seated within 15 minutes (they do not take reservations). It is a bit dark + hard to hear inside -- but they also offer covered patio seating as well. FOOD: I got the Atlantic Grilled salmon which includes kale, grapes, couscous and almonds-- with a red wine reduction. I got it done medium rare, per the recommendation of my server, Sam. It tasted wonderful! My only regret is not having enough reduction on the plate but the salmon/other ingredients had enough flavor to substitute the overall taste... also the portion size for me was a bit small (I am 5'4" and 125 pounds)-- it would have paired nicely with a side order. My Other party members ordered: buffalo chicken wrap, fish tacos, grilled chicken + vegetables, fish + chips. I personally felt those dishes did not look as good as mine- and the value was $$ for the overall dish.

Veggie burger with fries and asparagus fries

Marlows is always a treat, especially this location. The service is quick and friendly, the food absolutely incredible and the prices very reasonable. My go-to is their house made veggie burger and asparagus fries! Their veggie burger does fall apart often but it's loaded with squash, mushrooms and more and is one of my favorite house made patties I've ever had. The blueberry buck drink is absolutely delicious as well!

    Miso salmon with Caesar

This is a popular place and my family sat down before the rush. Service was really slow and it was hard to wave down our waitress. She was nice but very busy. I had the salmon and I thought for the price the portion was quite small. I understand fish is expensive but the fried rice side could have been a little more generous. The Caesar salad looked good but the dressing didn't have much flavor. The wings were really good and my son did enjoy his burger. The place is just so loud so it's very hard to have a conversation. It's not the best place to meet up with friends. For the price I wish the experience was better.

One of the best burgers around! Nice atmosphere and usually good service. Parking is an issue sometimes.

Because it's not a big menu with a ton of choices, but just enough different types of foods to give something for everyone - whether it's seafood or chicken, pasta, or meatloaf - it's just good food with interesting sauces. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and meatball sub, both tasting each other's and loving them. The only complaint is they seem to close after lunch for a few hours before dinner. If they stayed open continuously, they might get more business because I think the food is just too good for them to not constantly be crowded. The decor is clearly not what you're there for and the seats are just uncomfortable enough to discourage a leisurely meal (read: turn the tables over often); kind of a shame because if they stayed open continuously through dinner, had more comfortable seats, and less rundown looking interior they could actually attract a lot of business and stay very busy. Maybe they should try signing up with GrubHub, DoorDash or UberEats. Then you get to experience their terrific food at home. Looking forward to going back.

It was so good that I ended up going back on another day, about a week later. It was relatively quiet for a weekday lunch hour if you want to compare to other places that are open for lunch hour. That meant to me that the chef who is also the owner probably could spend more time to prepare the dishes ordered. I ordered the fried Oysters Po'Boy with fries and an iced tea. Didn't take too long for the meal to come out. I cut the Po'Boy in half and the Oysters were large. The bread was nice and soft, not hard and crunchy like bread can be for a Po'Boy. Fries were nicely done, not too crisp but not soggy and greasy. Had seasoning sprinkled on them, but not overwhelming. Just right. After I finished my sandwich, I was wondering about dessert and just as I was going to ask, my waiter, Chris came up to the table with the choices of dessert. I wanted something light, so I picked the chocolate pie. It was a good sized piece that came with some whipped cream on the side garnished with a strawberry. Nice and creamy and not overly sweet. Hit the spot! I will be back again because it's got a nice cozy homestyle atmosphere. May have to try the weekend brunch.

After reading the great Google reviews, we decided to give it a try on Saturday, August 15, after 7:30 PM--and I'm so glad we did! We were seated right away, and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Our server, Candice, was absolutely amazing! Since it was our first time visiting, she made us feel right at home. She even brought us their homemade chips and dip complimentary, which was such a nice touch. Candice was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions throughout our meal. She truly helped make our first experience special. For dinner, we ordered the salmon ($38), which was a little pricey for this type of restaurant, but overall it was good. We also took advantage of the $15 special, where you can select from certain items and receive a dessert. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries with the S'mores Brownie for dessert--absolutely delicious! Our daughter ordered the chicken sandwich and upgraded to the onion rings. Everything came out hot, fresh, and tasty. Our only suggestion would be to add a little more seasoning to the onion rings and provide a few more onion rings with the upgrade. The portion of fries was much larger than the onion rings, so for an additional $2.50-$3, we feel the upgrade should include a few more onion rings. We also enjoyed regular soft drinks, water, a margarita, and a beer. Everything was good, and overall, we had an amazing dining experience. A special thank-you to Candice for making our first visit so enjoyable! She even provided us with a coupon to come back and visit again, which we definitely appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider returning! If you're in the area and looking for a clean restaurant with good food and excellent customer service, Lazydog is worth giving a try.

As a self-described foodie, I'm always searching for restaurants that offer creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes with plenty of variety. Foundation exceeded every expectation. I ordered every dish the staff recommended, and each one was outstanding. Julio provided attentive, knowledgeable service, and you can tell Chef Mel and his wife, Sandy, have poured their hearts into every aspect of the dining experience. Their attention to detail is remarkable--they genuinely care that every bite is exactly as it should be, and it shows. We started with the Crisp Spanish Octopus and the mushroom ravioli. Julio also suggested adding an order of bread to soak up the incredible sauces, and I'm so glad he did--not a drop was left on the plate. For my entrée, I chose the scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. I even skipped most of the accompanying beans to save room for dessert, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of the night. The blueberry olive cake with blueberry sorbet was phenomenal and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and refreshingly free of distractions, allowing the food and conversation to take center stage. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with incredible food, outstanding hospitality, and an environment where every detail matters, Foundation Eatery is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back. PS. I can't believe they have a burger on the menu. I'd try that based on everything else!

The last time he had it was back in the summer of 2021, so during the July 4th weekend we made it a point to come back for the nostalgia. Unfortunately, this visit just didn't live up to our memories. I know inflation has affected many restaurants, but it's disappointing when menu changes take away the dishes that made people keep coming back. We started with the mimosa flight (mango, pineapple, cranberry, and orange). Sadly, they all tasted like plain champagne, and we couldn't really tell the flavors apart. Our son ordered the chicken tenders and waffles. There wasn't anything particularly memorable about it, but he enjoyed his meal, and that's what mattered most. He left happy. I ordered the Hangover Hash--moon-dusted potatoes topped with homemade queso, chicken chorizo, crispy chicken, two cage-free over-medium eggs, and served with a Flying Biscuit and cranberry apple butter. It was just okay. The online photo looked much more appealing. Mine didn't include the black beans, onions, or cilantro, and the potatoes had changed from what I remembered. Instead of seasoned breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions, they were just plain diced potatoes, which made the dish feel bland. The chicken chorizo was also much saltier than expected. The biggest disappointment was that my partner's favorite Chicken Sausage, Egg & Cheese Pasta had been discontinued. He ended up ordering scrambled eggs with salmon and dill cream cheese, served with potatoes, a Flying Biscuit with cranberry apple butter, plus a side of whole wheat French toast and grits. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. It was simply an okay breakfast that filled us up. Overall, the food wasn't terrible--it just lacked the "wow" factor that made us fall in love with this place years ago. The service was friendly, and our server was very nice, but the food no longer feels as special as it once did. If we return to the area, we'll probably try a different breakfast spot instead of coming back here. That said, if you've never been, it's still a decent place to check out. Just don't expect the same experience that longtime fans may remember.

Fries came out hot and crispy, which sounds basic but you'd be surprised how many places can't pull that off.
