The waiter we had was so great! He was great with the recommendations and checked on us regularly. His name, I believe, was Daniel. He suggested I go for the Asian salad vs the Cesar salad, and he was so right! It was amazing. I was able to finish the entire huge portion. My sister loved her veggie burger. We sat outside next to the outdoor heaters and it made for a cozy lunch outside. The only reason it's not five stars is because it was too loud inside and they didn't give bread or crackers or anything when we sat down. But otherwise, I'd definitely go back for the salad. Food is all about experience. Our waitress, Melissa was very unpleasant. She was moving at the speed of light, when she was taking our orders. Our food came out and we asked for condiments. We waited 10 minutes, NOTHING. We had to stop one of the other waiters to bring us ketchup. He did in a split of a second. By that time, we lost our appetites and just asked for a to-go box. We are very disappointed with the service. We wasted our time and money because burgers are best ate fresh. So these will be ending up in the trash. To make matters worst, because we asked the other waiter after waiting for so long, she slammed open the kitchen door and threw whatever she had in her hand like she was mad. We even had to ask another waiter for a bag. We definitely will not be coming back to this location and will not recommend to anyone. read more

Thumbs down on all the food I ordered. Two thumbs up for the excellent service. Our server, Tim, was fantastic. He was so attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We never felt rushed and the restaurant has a warm welcoming feel. I have to say that every time I've been to a Marlow's was because someone else picked it. Each time my food was one level up from horrible. Maybe, I'm ordering all the wrong things. Tim helped me pick out a drink and it was a great Pomegranate Martini. No complaints about the bar. Since I was coming in with a open mind, I thought I'd try an array of things, AGAIN. We ordered wings, asparagus fries, flatbread, crab cake, and a house salad. My dinner mate had the wings and asparagus, which he loved. Of course, all of my food was an utter disappointment. The flatbread of the day was a soggy mess. The description included pesto and I love pesto. I don't love a green substance disguised as pesto that was squirted out of a bottle and drizzled very lightly over my flatbread. I could only eat a small section of that. Let's talk about why I had a brain fart and even thought about ordering a crab cake from here. I haven't even had a good burger, so why the hell did I think they could pull off a crab cake??? Uggghhhh, it was awful. It was a mushy mess. There were no lumps in this stringy, crab, mayo/sourcream mush pie. The weird salad that accompanied it didn't make it go down any easier. Note to self, don't ever order that again!!! My last hope was for the Tavern salad. Nope! Uh-huh! Did I read the menu? It was kinda dark in there. Sweet potatoes and Parsnip super chunks do not a salad make. Oh, and then it was topped, no.... covered, well.... doused, okay.... it was submerged in a weird lime coriander vinaigrette. They all met in the bowl and just wondered what the other was doing there. It was pretty bad, I have to say. But nothing tops the cake. The warm chocolate cake. How does that sound like it would taste to you? Yeah, well it doesn't taste like that. It's a mess. Pass. Don't order that ever! Sorry, Marlow's! I never choose you. I always come here under duress and each time I wonder WHYYYYYYYYYYYY, WHYYYYYYYYYYYY, WHYYYYYYYYY. There is a glimmer of hope to the visit. My dinner mate loved his food. I liked the asparagus fries and ended up taking home his leftover wings. Just because he couldn't stop talking about them I thought I would try them out. Okay, so it's the next day and I'm sitting at my desk staring at those wings. I'm wondering if maybe I've developed some psychological reaction to Marlow's that is having some effect on my taste buds. I know this is going to be bad, but it's raining outside and I'm starving. I have no choice but to eat these things. The skies parted and the rains stopped for this momentous occasion. These damn things are off da chain! Love them! OMG, what is in that bleu cheese dip???? Great food and service, but again (from last visit-which is why I don't come that often) this isn't a tavern. Taverns over pour, they use a single drink as an ounce and a half-these greedy owners think they are big dogs like national chains who went greedy with one ounce pours. So here is the bottom line. There are lots of great restaurants with great chefs. So if you want to have a real drink before dinner/lunch, don't go here. If you don't drink, their prices are a little heavy, but the food is excellent and service is pretty good. So go here and try them out. But have a drink before you go....enough said read more

Don't listen to any of these negative comments. We have been going here for six years and it is a weekly favorite. I am very picky about location, food, atmosphere, and Marlows gets an A+ in all categories. Chris and Allison (managers) are some of the most attentive restaurant managers I've met. Favorites: you really can never go wrong with their nightly special, Royale burger, infamous fish tacos (although I ask for blackened shrimp), and the marlows Tea! Love Chick-fil-A tea? This is better. Only complaint is their dessert menu - it's lacking. You should also try their Sunday brunch! read more

Great friendly service & they have a surprise for you if it's your first visit. The food was good, we just went in for a cocktail & an app & sat at their outdoor bar. The hummus app was awesome. They could add a few more craft brew choices on tap but other than that it's a great place. The outdoor area was great & the indoor dining is very nice as well. I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I have wanted to try Marlow's and kept forgetting about it. Finally tried it a couple nights ago and its just not for us. The Calamari tasted like it had General Tso's sauce on it and the peppers werent roasted or warm. Cold red peppers and warm general tso's calamari is not a good mix. The firecracker shrimp jumped out of their breading the second you took a bite and the breading has zero flavor. The one star is for my rasberry martini. It was made very well and was the highlight of my evening here at Marlows. We will not return. read more

Solid restaurant in the Alpharetta area. Has a good upscale pub/tavern atmosphere. Have been to Marlow's a few times while visiting family, and we have never been disappointed. My last time here, I wasn't really in the mood for a big meal, so I opted to sample several side items -Vegetable & Bean Chili- Delicious! So much flavor- not too heavy but not not thin soup-like either -White cheddar grit cakes- Also delicious! -Caesar Salad...nothing special but really good -Roasted Asparagus... Had a good grilled taste to them, but were a little tough (i dont think they cut off the hard part) We also had a great bottle of red wine- and our server made sure our glasses were never empty. Our go to pizza spot was closed on July 4 so we scooted over to Marlow's Tavern. Been a while but they have the same great quality food that I have always known them to have. I was starting a diet the next day and had just come from the pickleball courts. I was starving. My partner and I shared the park fries which were fabulous. We love this place, but to be fair to both sides, they have an issue with serving sufficiently warm food. Our latest server was great. The food tasted fine, but all four meals were unacceptably cool. We were there tonight along with friends. We had not been there for a while, somewhat because of the temperature issue. I'm not going to go off half cocked and make threats, but they have so much going for them that it's a shame it's spoiled by what to me like an easy fix. But give them a chance. I live walking distance to this location and we decided to try it. Honestly I was expecting good food, but nothing outstanding, but I was very surprised with the quality and flavor of this place. The had options for everyone, even steak for the kids which is not common. We started with the smoked trout dip, which is amazing and tasted fresh made. It is delicious. Then my husband and I had burgers with fries and they were well seasoned, perfectly cooked and the fries were delicious. One of my kids had chicken tenders (they have the option of grilled or fried which is excellent) and the other one the steak and they loved them. Went to Marlow's Tavern last night for a late dinner and drinks. Service was excellent from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a server with a big smile and warm welcoming. We decided to sit outside since the weather was so nice and cool. Plus, they have an awesome mister system and large fan which keeps you from feeling sticky and humid during this summer weather. Tim, our server, greeted us immediately and was quick with service. He even told the manager Dennis that it was our first time. Dennis was so kind to stop by and say hello and welcome us. For dinner We had the smoke trout dip, really good! We also tried the kettle chips, which were phenomenal with an aioli, salsa, bacon and Gorgonzola cheese. So simple but so good. We also had the black bean burger, it was okay.. I've had better but it was definitely not bad.. and the house salad which I loved trying. It had mixed greens, walnuts (yum), radishes and fennel. A bit different from what I'm used to. My dad had the black and blue burger with fries which was great! For drinks, we had the bourbon and peach drink. SO good. Nice and boozy but still light. We also had the southern charmer, definitely will be reordering. Kind of reminded me of a whiskey sour? But so much better. Bathrooms were also very clean! :) Would like to make a note that the service really was wonderful and is what will definitely draw me back to this place. Great drinks and menu classics. Marlow's is one of our favorite spots and this location delivers without exception. This was our fourth visit here and the service is consistently outstanding. Favorite recommendation are starting with the truffle fries, entree'ing-up (my word) with the French Dip (side of creamy horseradish) and jalapeño grits. Oh my! The bar is stout with many seasonal draughts and full liquor/wine selections available. I love to keep it local and Marlow's agrees. Enjoy and tip well, this place will not disappoint. We definitely loved Natalie! Initially we told her it was our first time, we didn't expect a free appetizer, but the manager on duty offered us one - kettle chips. It was amazing. I ordered the fish tacos last week. You completely CHANGED the ingredients and not for the better!! I wonder if it was just a one-time snafu. It was a favorite of mine over the last several years but I won't be ordering that anymore if it's a permanent change. New customers won't know how much better it was before. The entire place is completely filthy. Pretty much everything you touch is sticky or covered in hardened food. All the waitresses are clapped out rude women who don't care at all about anything they do. Small portions of pre-made food at premium prices.
