Really enjoyed this pub. Loved the drinks and ambience, food was good wish the fish n chips were a bit more flavorful but not bad. 4/5 would definitely come back for a beer again!

The place gets 3 stars for its dive bar ambience and we'll priced drinks. There was also live music on a thuesday night. They have multilple rooms to hang and a few of them upstairs had the presidnential debate. The voice was low so we couldnt hear and went back to the live music area. The food is strictly average. The fish and chips was alright but the Shepard pie was a disappointment and did not have the traditional potato layer

Fun atmosphere, fantastic for a pint a bite. Nothing says fantastic dive bar like sawdust on the floor and Christmas decorations up in March. Our lunch started with a chef's choice charcuterie board. Everything was enjoyable. Loved every meat selection and got to sample the house potato salad. (Best side in the house). Draft house alcoholic root beer was a tasty treat. 70 beers on tap. We ordered a burger and a Philly to split. Pass on the Philly. Bread to meat ratio is not favorable. Or, if your drunk, perfect filler bread ratio. Burger was thick and flavorful. Tots- soooo crispy Brussel sprouts- well seasoned though little watery Garlic mash- meh. Fresh, house made, skip-able Bartender was a joy. Solid showing. Would go back again for a relaxing, non rushed drinking lunch. Oh- the Ugly Cake. On of the best slices of fluffy cream filled dripped hard top chocolate cake ever. Not too sweet. Get it.

We're not locals to the Atlanta area but decided to come try out this Irish pub. So happy we did!!! Upon walking in, the place looked very rustic and had a bunch of decor around the area. The pub does have different openings you can enter. One has a dining area and the other one is more so of for getting drinks and socializing (more so of a bar area). Throughout the pub, there are different rooms where you can sit and relax and enjoy the bustling atmosphere. It can get a little loud when it's crowded but that's expected of a pub. There's a live band that plays sometimes too! The service was really really good! The bartenders were very helpful and quick to serve us. Now, this is not the usual you sit down and order concept, you order your food and drinks both at the bar. You get your drinks there and they bring out your food to your table. Our "server" was very quick and attentive to us as well, even after he brought out our food. Here's what we got (I went with my husband and a group of friends): Peach cider: 8/10 - tart, refreshing, delicious! I could taste the distinct peach flavor and it was very refreshing to drink on a hot summer day. I wish there were a little bit more of the peach flavor because I love peaches! Fish and chips: 8.5/10 - For the price and quality, this was worth it! I do not like fish that is fishy to the taste and I could not taste the fishiness of the fish (cod) and the batter was fried to perfection. The chips (french fries) were delicious as well! The seasoning they put on the fries gave it nice zing and the tartar sauce was superb! I added freshly squeezed lemon juice to my fish and malt vinegar to my fries and dipped it with the tartar sauce. Each bite tasted like I was in heaven. The portion size was reasonable for the price as well! I will say that the fish was a little bit oily but the flavor was so good! Chicken Schnitzel: 7/10 - I had a bite of my husband's dish and it was really flavorful. The chicken patty was fried perfectly and the mushroom and gravy sauce was light and not too heavy. I wish there was more mushroom flavor because I love the robust taste of mushrooms but nonetheless, it was pretty good. The only reason I'm knocking off one star is because the bathroom was kind of dirty. The trash was filled to the brim and there was alot of dust and dirt in there. It just didn't overall feel clean. Overall, I would come back for the drinks and food. I've never been to Ireland so I can't compare how it is to the pubs over there but I will say that me and my friends enjoyed our time here.

Some friends recommended this spot so we stopped in to check it out. Located in downtown Marietta, this is a unique pub with several different rooms, bars, and an outdoor area. There are several European beers on tap, as well as domestic craft offerings. The menu is what you'd expect from a pub; several appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and some traditional entrees. We tried (and loved) the Irish Nachos, which are tots topped with corned beef, cheddar, and a horseradish sauce. We also ordered a basket of fried pickles, spears that are coated in a tempura batter. A unique and tasty way to enjoy fried pickles! For meals, we ordered the chicken and chips, fish and chips, cheese burger, and wings. The food took a little while to come out, but it was all hot and fresh when it arrived. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, however, the wings were not well-seasoned and didn't have a lot of flavor. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere was very laidback where we sat. The building itself was interesting and fun to see. We'd go back for drinks and apps, for sure!

This is the certainly the definition of a dive bar. Dark and grungy, I debated whether to even have a drink here. I tried their MacCrackens IPA; I don't know who makes this for them but it was not very good. Patrons order at the bar as there is no table service. The weekend I was here, there were only two people working: one behind the bar and one in the kitchen. Service was slow to get a drink, but the bartender was friendly. He was also responsible for busing the tables, needless to say the place was in disarray. I used the restroom while I was there and it was just gross. Old, nasty fixtures, dirty, and no hand soap! Glad I didn't eat here. The interior of the restaurant was also thick with dust, doesn't look like it has ever been dusted. Hard pass on any future visits.

I typed in "places with pool tables" and this place popped up. Does it have pool tables? And if so, are they on the smoking or non-smoking side?

Smoking establishment with no pool tables. Excellent beer choice. Live music on weekends.

Child friendly? Turned off by Facebook ad and questioning whether this is a family-appropriate restaurant

No would not call this place family friendly considering the F-bomb was dropped on us by the bartender as soon as we sat down. Its also a dark and dank atmosphere.

They host Team Trivia every Thursday at 8pm which can be difficult for a younger group, but is still fun. The ambiance of the bar is great. It's definitely a little limited on seating but that allows the bar to have a cozy vibe and really feel like you're in a British Pub. The bar also has some golf arcade games if trivia isn't your thing. Staffing can sometimes be a little light, but when staying for a while and playing trivia it isn't too noticeable. Most of the food is typical bar food and for all my previous visits it was decent but nothing special. However, on my most recent visit I tried their signature meatloaf and it was a level above all the other food and something I will definitely get again. Overall, I think The King George Tavern provides an excellent experience for a trivia night with friends, and I'll continue going back.

We had been in this part of Decatur many times and I never heard of it. We took the quick 5 minute ride over and I realized we had passed it many times. I think it had a different name last I noticed. As we approached I noticed the nice sized parking lot. A quick estimate, it could hold about 40 - 50 cars. I quickly found an open spot and walked over to the entrance. We entered and I could see the host walking toward us. He greeted us warmly, we let him know we were a party of 2 and preferred to sit outside. He informed us we could head out there and pick our own seat. We walked through the dark interior and headed outside using the side door. We found a table at the end of the patio near the front of the restaurant. There was plenty of outside seating on their patio and many of the tables were covered or had an umbrella. It was a little cooler than I expected so I ran back over to the car to pick up my jacket. I returned to the table and our friendly server came by and asked if we were ready to order. We were happy to see they had an extensive beer menu and I chose the Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA from Hi-Wire brewing and Wifey ordered the Harp Lager. For food, we kept it simple and decided to share the Pork Nachos appetizer. Our waters came out next, and then the beers came out soon after. As we were hanging around and enjoying the patio I noticed the place was very dog friendly. The Pork Nachos arrived and were excellent. It was not a huge portion, but the perfect size for what we were looking for. The chips were crispy and the pulled pork was seasoned well. All the ingredients worked well together. We would definitely recommend the nachos if you visit Wheelhouse. Overall, this was a very good experience during our 1st visit here and we will definitely return when in the area.

The wait staff was attentive, making sure we had our beverages and if we needed anything before the 2 arrived. Once they arrived, the staff gave us a few minutes to make sure the 2 had a chance to look at the menus. We ordered appetizers to start...corn bread, sage fried pierogies and poutine. We weren't sure about the poutine because we didn't see any gravy, we did see the cheese curds on the fries, but once we finally dug in, the gravy was at the bottom. The pierogies were tasty. We asked if they could cut the cornbread so each of us could get a taste, which they did. Corn bread had a toasted texture, and the honey butter was delicious! Everyone ordered something different. One had fish and chips, which would seem to be a likely order for a pub. Their special for the day was a ruben. Another ordered a falafel sandwich, and I think 2 salmon BLT's and then one salad with rainbow trout. Portions were not overwhelming, but we realized that we were full from the appetizers and almost everyone ended up taking most of their main choices in doggie bags (boxes). As time got closer to the festival to start, it did get crowded, but the staff handled the influx of people and people were seated relatively quickly. This was a nice destination as most of the group live a drive from Decatur. Lovely afternoon visit!
