People are nuts. The hawk is serviceable -ish. Would not recommend. Just don't get meal points if you can avoid it.

This was our first visit to Sparrow Cafe. We were 3 friends celebrating a birthday at brunch…read more The place is tucked away behind a medical office building. A small sign at the entrance says Malibu Racquet Club. There is ample parking. It looks like a new business. Sleek lines and blonde wood welcome guests up the stairs. It opens to an attractive seating lounge and bar. Straight ahead is the patio dining area. Friendly staff greeted us and brought drinks promptly. We tried the strawberry ricotta pancakes. Two large ones per serving. One of us had the tuna melt with sweet potato fries. It was all delicious. We would definitely recommend it. Ambiance was quiet. Beautiful greenery all around. Really a perfect experience on a special day.

It's out of the way so almost no tourists, it's super chill and a great way to take advantage of our beautiful weather. Very polite staff, nothing fancy, just beautiful mountains, lots of natural greenery and a bright pretty indoor area with a fabulous fireplace in inclement weather. I absolutely used to go crazy over their Curry mango chicken salad, I wish they would bring that back. Good for sandwiches, light salads, eggs. It's a fairly small menu but easy to find healthy enough options, as well as traditional hardier brunch selections.

It wasn't too busy when we went and the line moved pretty fast. We ordered the vegan chopped salad and the chorizo burrito. Both were good, but the salad was our favorite. Super fresh and really hit the spot. Overall just a great place to hang out and enjoy the view for brunch!

The view of the ocean is nice, the breeze is cooling, and there's no yucky fishy smell you might think you'd smell at the pier. Service: the servers were great, but the girl who checked us in wasn't very friendly. My boyfriend and I got there and she told us to wait for a table to open up then she would seat us; however, we looked and saw multiple tables open and she even sat another party who came after us. We had to ask another server if we could be seated and they seated us shortly after. Vibes: you sit pretty close to other parties and there are a lot of tables in the area. Volume level is fairly loud because of all the people, but it's not an overwhelming loud. Gets busy around brunch/lunch time. On the cuff of being a nicer place to eat in terms of vibes, but because it is near the beach it does feel more chill. Food: I had the build your own fish taco and the Swedish mini pancakes. For the price that I paid, neither was worth it. The fish was kind of dry and flavorless and the best thing about that dish were the veggies. The mini pancakes got mushy quick, so these definitely should be eaten sooner rather than later. The syrup and fruits atop the pancakes were extremely sweet and the dish overall left my stomach feeling heavy. Unfortunately this place is an overpriced tourist trap.

We split the shrimp tempura roll burrito and added tuna, and it was incredible. The fish-to-rice ratio was perfect--something a lot of places get wrong. The fish was fresh, the flavors were balanced, and the dipping sauces took it to another level. It's definitely a little pricey, but the quality makes it worth it. The portions are generous too--one burrito was more than enough for two people to share. If you're a sushi burrito fan, this place is a must-try. I'm a huge fan and will definitely be back!

After seeing the menu and reading the reviews online, we saw that this was a wonderful fusion place with the best reviews -- Yelp didn't let us down! I ordered the chicken teriyaki and subbed sushi rice for salad (the chef paired it with the most amazing seaweed salad), and my husband ordered the salmon bowl and subbed sushi rice for mixed greens as well. The salmon was soft, melted in your mouth and truly on par with the salmon I had in Japan!! The chicken was delicious as well - and the veggies paired with it in the bowl were really tasty. The seating area could use a bit more work, as I felt like the food felt authentic and a hidden gem but the prices for the dishes were on par with that of a sit-down restaurant! You order at the front and pay first, then a server brings the food to your table (if you decide to sit there). We came on Fourth of July for a little bday lunch - and I'm so happy I got to spend my birthday trying out another great restaurant! Will definitely be back and/or check out the Agoura Hills location!
