The service was absolutely incredible. Checked on us once we got our food. Refilled our drinks promptly. The restaurant was decorated like we were in Marrakesh even down to the music. It's not as small as it looks from the outside. It's actually quite big. They actually have a section in the back for parties if you need.

It took me a long time to finally try the food here - and I am a foodie that loves different kinds of cuisines, it's just that I would end up gravitating towards a different place. Howeverrr, I finally made it here and wow! Marrakesh quickly became one of my favorite places in Jacksonville. I dined here with some girlfriends for a Christmas gift exchange and we had a table in the back, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and I thought the privacy we got was so nice. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the full bar in the center of the dining room is so aesthetically pleasing. We started with the falafels which were so good and the labneh with pita bread which was even better, definitely my favorite appetizer of the night. I kept going back for more. I am usually a gyro girly but for my entree, I did the three meat platter (chicken tawook, sheesh and shawarma) with the yellow rice and cucumber salad. UGH, I am salivating as I write this. Everything was delicious but the tawook was hands down my favorite protein of the three. Reagan was our server and she is so sweet! She really knows how to take care of you. I can't wait to bring my husband!

Had lunch here for the first time yesterday. Was greeted as soon as I walked in. Adam was my waiter and very sweet and checked on me often. I went with the chicken kabob lunch. Chicken was very tender. Was perfect amount of good. Place is decorated nicely. Seems to get pretty busy around noon. Bathroom was clean as well. Next time I'm in the area I would for sure come here again.

Came here with a few friends for dinner before we headed out for a movie. Grabbed a couple beers before dinner and enjoyed a chick peas and cheese appetizer. The server was friendly and patient with everyone's questions. Had the chicken with rice for dinner and was not disappointed. The inside was chill with the bar centrally located in the restaurant. Upon entering, this establishment was bursting with vibrant and stunning antique decor in every corner. Our bartender Jen was so kind and attentive, explaining any new or unfamiliar traditional dishes. I went for a small plate dining experience so I ordered a variety of appetizers because *try em all til ya try em all!* The baba ghanouj, falafel, tabouleh, cucumber salad, couscous salad, lollipop lamb chops, goat cheese with pita, spanakopita, grape leaves with ground beef... fantastic and bursting with rich flavor all around. The MVP of the night was hands down the $3 dessert baklava with crushed pistachios. I am still dreaming about that one.

If you're looking for a perfect spot with efficient service and nice vibes, this is the place! The food was so good, present well, and of course was very affordable. A meal for a party of 4 with appetizers was less than $50. I highly recommend Marrakesh.

Went with my boyfriend and his family for dinner, and the food was fantastic! The hummus was delicious (I am known for hating it), the spinach sleeve took a bit to come out but it was well worth it! My boyfriend and I shared the ultimate meat platter and oh. my. goodness. It was amazing!! The salmon was my favorite, it had a wonderful crust but wasn't overcooked, and the rice was so flavorful! It had sautéed peppers and onions that were soft but not mushy, and my Island Cooler drink was so refreshing and beautiful! A kind man who I believe was the owner was walking around, and is the one who seated us, and our two servers were lovely as well!

We got overcharged? The prices on the menu did not match the prices on the receipt. This was very disappointing. I ordered a baklava for $3 off the menu and was charged $4. I asked for extra sauce because the beef shawarma was so dry and got charged for that without the waitress letting me know it was going to be an up charge. The 3 meat platter had 3 pieces of meat per the meat you chose. So a total of 9 chunks of meat for $23. The rice was really good and the appetizer we ordered the spinach sleeve was great as well. The olive oil was authentic olive oil which was a surprise. The baklava wasn't worth the $4 seemed a bit old and not fresh. Pros: Food was well seasoned & had lots of flavor, food came out fast, accurate order, good service. Cons: Prices from menu didn't match our receipt... beef shawarma was very chewy and dry, small portion for the 3 meat platter i'd expect way more for that price.

A wonderful place to eat. The food is very reasonably priced. The service is great. If you are just out for a cocktail and a appetizer be sure to go to the bar and let Angel take care of you. We come here every time we're in Jacksonville visiting family, and coming here is just like visiting extended family. The food is awesome and tasty with generous portions..the lamb chops are to die for...the hummus and grape leaves are perfect! Adam and his family and staff are friendly and welcoming. Excellent desserts and Turkish Coffee. If I lived in Jacksonville, I'd be in here three nights a week...LOL. read more

This was my first time eating mediterranean food and this was the choice restaurant to try it at. The service and the server was great to the point to where after we explained that we was new to this type of food the waiter proceeds to recommend a dish that samples all of the meat on their menu. The food (note: a first experience) was great as well and was a fun new experience to a seemingly new types of flavors. All in all, one of the best food services that I've ever received in general. I came down here to pick up my brother and bring him back to Virginia, I doubt I'll ever be back, it's actually something I'll miss here in Jacksonville. If I'm ever back in town, this will be my fist stop. read more

Wife and I show up on Thursday evening. We, along with a family of 5, waited 10 minutes to be seated. Its a Thursday night and it is NOT swamped....We are seated in the back by the bar; in which there are half empty beer glasses and pitchers sitting and dripping beer taps. Small plastic cups cover the ends of the liquor bottles and the area is in general disarray. After waiting for 20 minutes to get a drink order, my wife and I get up and leave. Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced, and the general upkeep of the bar was disgusting. Jon Taffer would have lost his mind. I don't even want to think about how they prep the food. Dont buy into the hype. This place is hot garbage. read more

After the many fine reviews we expected a really good meal. We came in on a Friday evening just before the dinner rush and were greeted pleasantly and seated promptly. We are both lamb fans so my wife ordered the lamb kabob sandwich and I the couscous with lamb. My wife's kabob had only a couple of small cubes of very tough lamb. There was so little lamb I loaded up her sandwich with some of my lamb. The couscous was very lightly seasoned and lacked salt. It was pleasant but the biggest problem for me was that it was only tepid, almost cool. We wanted to give them a fair shake so we ordered a baklava to share. Three stars for cold food and tough lamb. Nice folks tho. read more

What a nice find, thanks fellow Yelpers. We had dinner this evening during their 5th anniversary celebration. Overall their kabobs and chicken swarma were above average. I thought their hummus was outstanding, some of the best I've ever had. The baklava was also excellent, fresh out of the oven. The service was good and the food arrived in a timely manner. The entire family enjoyed the belly dancer, she was entertaining. My only complaint was the music was a bid loud when the dancer was performing, you couldn't talk across the table. read more

Really 4.5 stars! Arguably, the tastiest eatery in this Marine Corps town filled with tatoo parlors, liquor and gun stores, barber shops, used car lots, and fast food joints. Our waitress was Alyssa & she was excellent. The food was great & the restaurant is nice. It reminds me of all the great Mediterranean establishments back home in California. I love how they are also open till 10 or 11pm. I will definitely be coming back. One of the best restaurants I've tried on western blvd by far. read more

Very good food. Good service. Be careful or the tab can build up quick - the default draft beer is a huge pilsner (priced to match), and substituting some hummus for the normal salad results in a surprise up-charge. I expected the shawarma to include a wrap - instead, it was sliced on the side of a pile of rice. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. read more

The hummus and pita bread is what keeps me coming. The triple meat which are shwarma, spicy chicken, and sheeshkabob were amazing. My husbands favorite is the stuffed hen. Has amazing flavors and tender meat. All this comes with free rice, salad, and pita bread. We ordered the hummus separately and got extra pita bread. I am a usual customer or at least would like to become one. read more

While we were waiting and eating there were several to go orders. Steady flow of customers in and out. They also have a great music selection! After a short wait our delicious gyros arrived. The presentation was nothing flashy, but good. The fires were seasoned just right for me, but a little too salty for the wife. The gyros were as expected, delicious and a good size for us. The hummus plate was actually larger than expected, but a nice surprise. There was enough naan for sure. I did not take any pics this time. Overall experience was excellent honestly. We'll definitely eat here again. I recommend giving Olea Mediterranean Kitchen a try.

Overall, not perfect but a quality place with options for most diets.

just really excellent Filipino food in an unexpected place like Jacksonville, North Carolina at…read moreslightly unreasonable value (great for the customer, but makes one question if the business can sustain it when charging so little for so much food). It was the first of three Filipino restaurants we visited on my wife's/my Carolina week long visit, and was the best out of all of them, even though by far it was the least expensive. Driving from Durham NC to Myrtle Beach, my wife and I took a longer route so we could eat at this 'Point-Point' steam table restaurant deep in the South. Steam table means everything is pre-cooked and sitting at a buffet station. The food can suffer in the same way that a buffet can: the food gets old fast and it definitely tastes different if you can get a fresh(er) batch vs one that has been sitting out for a while. We got there about 45 minutes before opening (opens at noon on a Sunday). It's in an isolated strip mall (seemingly in the middle of nowhere), with plenty of parking. As we waited in the car, we saw many prospective customers trying to get in. The doors opened promptly at 12 pm, and we were the 3rd party in line. The order taking process is intentionally slowed to allow the serving of the food to take place not long after it has been ordered and (pre)paid. This did mean that the line went out the door for our entire dine-in visit, and we got to see the make up of the regulars. Everyone was patient: it was very clear that it was mostly locals, coming not because they wanted Filipino food, but because they wanted good tasting food at a good price. It's a small dining area, but the vast majority of people were doing carry-out so there was always some seating available. They use Clover as the POS, and identify themselves as 'Filipino Cuisine'. We got the 3 choice combo plate ($16.99), served with white rice along with a can of coke ($1.99...no soda machine here) and a side of Ukoy ($2.50). There is a 4% surcharge for credit card use. Each choice was the size of a small a la carte portion, and one would have been enough for the two of us for lunch. The food was delivered to your table, and they will bus (or one can self-bus since a garbage can is available and everything is served in disposable containers). Ukoy - shrimp and vegetable fritter - really big piece and made that morning, so was still crispy. I really like vegetable fritters and this version was OK, a bit dry but that's what the accompanying vinegar dipping sauce was for. Pork Adobo - very tender meat, not too much fat, with added onions (what you would expect in a biftek). The amount of saltiness went perfectly with the white rice. Biftek - this had the sabaw of biftek, but the cut was cubed, meaning closer to caldereta. The beef cuts were just excellent (little gristle), very tender. This amount of beef would easily be $20 in a 'nice' Filipino restaurant. Pork Sinigang - really good, just the way I like it. Wasn't overly sour, with plenty of vegetables and generous amount of pork. The broth had definitely been skimmed of grease, resulting in a dish that was more homemade (where time is taken to do the skimming) than other turo-turo places I've been. Looking over the menu can tell you about the competition in the area, and it looks like Vietnamese Pho is pretty rare in Jacksonville. Turo Turo has Pho on their menu, and even modified their name to highlight it. I've found that many Filipinos like their dishes with all the extracted fat remaining, which makes much of their soup inedible for me (in that context, it's grease, not flavor-enhancing fat). But as noted, their sinigang was good, with most of the pork fat skimmed off the broth...so thinking their Pho is probably pretty good too. We've eaten at many, many Turo-Turo places (so many around where we live), and this place has to be near the top in terms of value and taste. Funny that it's in a place that we wouldn't expect, serving locals that one would expect in the area. Both of us really liked this restaurant, and the plentiful leftovers became our dinner that night with no regrets.

We were uncomfortably hot and sweating even before our food came out. Canned soda. Buy or lease a soda dispenser. You make more profits and can keep costs down. I really dislike restraints that serve only soda in cans, charge too much, then you have to ask for a cup and ice and there are no refills or larger portions.

Delicious and really great Mediterranean food for a good price. This restaurant is way too cool for Jacksonville. Customer service is amazing, and atmosphere is relaxed. I went there alone once and really enjoyed my stay here and I decided to came here often with my friends it will be very amazing spending time with those you love to and in such a place like it really worth it. Adam and his sons treat me like an honored guest in their home. I order dinner entrees and dessert for 4 about once a month so It's not as though I am a high volume client. My favorite is the chicken Kalaya (sautéed with peppers, onions, garlic, tomato, spices) but a close second is the lamb chops. My wife enjoys the stuffed grape leaves and baklava most. Kids like chicken sheesh kabob and lamb, and all if us like their always fresh tabouli salad. read more
